I slowly opened my eyes and what I first saw was the white ceiling. I felt my body and it felt brand new, light, and newfangled.
I don't feel any pain. I don't feel any uncomfortable things. What I just felt is a perfectly fine body.
But even with this body… I felt pathetic.
I collapsed again. I lost to my brain.
Not long after I was awakened, I heard the door open as well as the numerous footsteps that came inside my room like they were conducting a search in my room.
If I'll think of where I am right now, I'm most likely inside my room in our class floor.
The ceiling and the wide space, the walls that have magic in them, I felt them far away from me except for the wall beside and above my head that was created with magic than activated with protection magic.
"Has she regained conscious yet?" I heard Delora's voiced asked someone.
"You don't have to worry. You see, Violet is a strong person."
If it's only visible, they could've seen my face twitch when I heard Ginger's voice inside my room. She's here? In my room? On this floor?
I tried to count the magical energies present in this room because of Ginger's voice in a place they shouldn't have access to.
I almost murmured a harsh cuss when I realized that all of them were here. My classmates and even the four girls. Why do they even hold a meet-up inside my room? Can't they see that there's a person in the process of recovering here? Hello? Do I even need to wave my feet to them?
"Are you sure?" Delora asked, sounding worried.
"Of course. What we just ask of you is to please refrain from talking about your relatives when Violet's around or present in the same room as you." Ginger said.
Wow. This girl is revealing my weakness to them nonchalantly. I'm tempted to have her punished.
"As long as you refrain from talking about them, she'll be fine."
"Okay…If you say so…" Somehow. Lily's voice calmed me down from having dangerous thoughts about Ginger's punishment.
If Ginger gets to see the sunrise tomorrow, she better be thanking Lily for her life being spared.
"But you said she'll be waking up anytime now. Why isn't she waking up?"
Hey. Actually, I'm already awake. I just don't want to talk to you all. It's quite a pain to talk to about thirteen people, you know?
"Actually, she should be getting up now." Kesha said. Now, I wondered if she's going nuts right now since her crush is in the same room as her.
If Vantel is still clueless and didn't realize one girl among my so-called cousins is drolling for him. I would give the credits to Jirile and the rest. They restrained her well.
"Is she in a worse situation than we think she is in?"
"I actually don't know. Her highest temperature was the same as before though." Herlye said.
"Maybe a fire was set inside her and burned her insides to ashes." And of course, there's my hater, Neodelle.
"Bro…You tell the corniest jokes." Theodore said. Yes! Point it out, Theodore. Point it out until he stops.
"Maybe we overlooked something-."
I wasn't expecting that. Just when Jirile was talking I didn't expect her to sit next to me and accidentally put a hot mug on my hand. I immediately hissed and took my hand away from her.
I heard them stop talking but I was just focused on my hand as it stings. Shit. That hurts. I just woke up, I'm not that resilient to heat yet!
Why is she even putting a hot mug on a hand for whoever's sake?!
If I knew that she would accidentally do that, I should've turned my magical energy on so it wouldn't burn me since I have resistance to it.
"You were alive?" Of course, Neodelle had to ask that. I wonder if he's here to check my condition if I recovered or he's only here to wait for my death.
Unfortunately for him, I'm more likely reborn than the dying person that he might think me to be.
I glared at him. How I wish he knew that. "Of course, I... Am..." My words got slow down when I noticed the dark faces of the four girls. They even have their hands clenched. Oh god, please no—.
"VIOLET!"
After the rest checked on me, they left my room, as well as the four angered beasts. They had my ear damaged by their shout earlier. I even heard a ringing sound after that.
It's currently ten in the morning and I'm just getting in my uniform. Since I just woke up from a long sleep, they said I am exempted from doing any physical activities for the day or even for the next day.
It doesn't really matter but they insisted since it was also said by the medical unit who took care of me. The three weeks of unconsciousness and inactive body of mine were thought to be weak after I woke up.
Little do they know, it's just the opposite.
But well... Who cares? I have the opportunity right in front of my eyes. I can slack off so I immediately agreed to that nonsense but I still need to attend my classes.
I was also informed by Jirile earlier that Gordon finally arrived recently with the student that will be joining Althea.
I am terribly sorry to whoever needs my apology but I can't somehow erase the thought that Gordon was like a king bringing mistresses into his kingdom.
No offense. It just seems like that to me.
Good thing we went here by ourselves. The thought of five mistresses being brought inside his kingdom creeps me out. It might not let me sleep for a year. It's frightening and at the same time disgusting.
"Good day If it's a good day." I said, unenergetic when I entered the classroom. It feels weird having their eyes on me.
"Good day, Violet!" Lily energetically greeted back as well as the rest. "Are you okay now?" She asked and approached me. Instead of standing near me, she went nearer and hugged my arm then squealed in excitement. "Aaahhh! I'm glad you're back."
Somehow, I felt shivers when I imagined another figure hugging my other arm. Ah. I might be losing my mind now I'm already conscious.
"Hey, hey. Can you show us your face?" All of our heads turned to Brian. He was leaning on his desk while looking at me. "I'm really curious about what you look like, you know?"
I know we passed the 'how are you feeling' stage since they caught me waking up earlier but is that really what he needs to ask?
I unconsciously touched my face which made them attentive as they watch me. As I remember they knew I was crying that time when the tears became evident on these bandages. Just the thought of it makes me shiver. I'm embarrassed.
"You see..." I put my hand down while staring at them. "These bandages can't be undone when it is already worn." Maybe this fact will shut them up.
"Then how do you take a bath?" Neodelle asked and all of the heads present in the room immediately turned to him. "What?" He asked, kind of irritated.
"Are you thinking how she baths?" Theodore decided to make the first damage to his dear friend who blushed in realization.
"W-what?! No!"
Aaron sighed. "I didn't know you thought about it that far." So he decided to join in too.
"W-wait! You got it wrong!"
Somehow, a flustered and blushing Neodelle made my day. It's not like you can see him every day wearing that kind of expression.
"Ha... Just when I thought you're not some pervert roaming around the school." Even I decided to join the tease. He glared at me with that blushing face of his.
I pursed my lips tight behind the bandages as I stop myself from smiling.
"What pervert?! And no! I said you got the wrong idea!"
"You're the one who got the wrong idea, Neodelle." Virgo said and mockingly shook her head with a smirk on her face. "Thinking about those kinds of things? Ohhh..." She clicked her tongue. "Heavens."
"YOU GOT IT WRONG, I SAID!"
The class burst into laughter but I just took my seat. When I sat down, I noticed another desk by my side and just the sight of it didn't make me comfortable at all.
"Ah, we forgot to tell you that the new student might be joining us soon." Theodore said when he noticed me facing the new desk.
"Gordon's company when he arrived?" I asked and they nodded. I sighed heavily and calmly pushed the desk away from me. "I don't want her beside me." I said and that made them silent.
I stared at the desk but I felt like the distance isn't enough so I stood up and pushed the desk two or three more desks away from me.
In the end, I pushed it to the opposite side of the room. I felt satisfied and nodded before sitting down again. I took out a book but before I could even read it, I heard a chuckle from Virgo in front of me.
"Hey, are you jealous about having a new student after you?"
I tilted my head. "Jealous?"
"Oh, dear Violet..." Brian said dramatically, giving me a teasing look as he continue to speak. "You don't have to. You'll be our forever weird and freak classmate."
"It would be nice if you won't think of it."
"Don't worry Violet, I will still stick with you!" Lily said like she was assuring me. Little did she know it was pissing me off.
"I told you, it's not like that." I was shaking my head with how complex it is to let these people understand.
"Oh?" And there's Neodelle who wants revenge with his smug face. "I wonder if you're afraid if we'll gather around her than you."
"I actually hate crowds." With this form. "And if it is. It's much better than imagining me naked while taking a bath." There he blushed again and the whole class laughed at my reply.
"But why push the desk so far away from you?" Theodore asked. "You haven't met her yet and you may even get along with her well.."
I shrugged and stood up. "I'll eat something first." I said and went inside the dining room.
I'm having the idea to cut my classes but it won't help me avoid her for the rest of the year. Whether I like it or not, she would probably pop into places where I am in.
I guess I overdid hiding from them.
After finishing a meal, I went back to the room just to see them talking to each other. We have no teacher yet? Or are they having complications with her?
But just when I was thinking that something might have happened, just when I sat down the door opened and Ms. Vernovela came in with the girl I am expecting to see anytime soon.
Her light blond hair caught my classmate's attention as well as the smile plastered on her face. Their faces eventually lightened in realization when they recognized who that girl is.
When the girl stood in front of the class, I felt shivers down my spine when she smiled in my direction and even when she waves her hand at me.
"Everyone, I would like you to meet Lilith Nallavity Grandbelle from the Kingdom of Grandbelle. She will be your classmate from now on."
She smiled widely and jolly nodded. Her violet orbs never left me so I was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Damn her.
"You can take your seat beside—huh? Why is her desk on the other side of the room?"
If I must say the truth, I'm not even regretting putting that there.
Lilith chuckled and looked at Ms. Vernovela. "It's okay, Ms. Vernovela. I can take this kind of treatment from her." She said and she walks past us while her desk moved by itself, as if a ghost was returning it to its original place. Which was by my side. "You see... She doesn't like me that much."
Oh, shut your trap, Lilith!
I rolled my eyes and gritted my teeth. This is making me lose my mind with every second that pass.
"And this girl beside me got even sick when I arrived." She sat down. "What a news for grandmother."
I shivered once again.
