Chapter 3 - And So, I Met A Weird Guy

"Uh…" I stutter, half wondering how he could say that with ease, seeing as he did just kill me, and the other half wanting to choke him for revenge. "Yeah, why'd you do that?"

"It was an accident, but don't worry, I'll reincarnate you, unless you prefer death?" He sighs, seemingly listless towards the current situation.

"Um… Where are we?" I ask, now fully aware of my surrounding area. "Why's it so dark?"

"We are in the stars of hell," He says, stalking slowly towards the emptiness. "It's always dark here."

"You say that like I'm supposed to understand," I say, my facial expression now shifting to an exhausted one. All this is getting hard to process correctly.

"You are Hishaku Arisu yes?" He asks, waving off my previous statement as he picks up a clipboard from a wooden table next to a red couch that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

"Um…was that always there?"

"Hishaku, tell me, how do you feel about dying?" The strange man with silver white hair, a rather pretty face for a man, beauty marks under his right eye and left side of his chin and wearing a plain blue buttoned up t-shirt, black pants, and black converse asks sitting down and crossing his legs, awaiting my answer. Somehow, this odd ball looks kind of familiar.

"What kind of shit question is that?!" I exclaim, now realizing that this man is just insane. What kind of person just asks that so casually in this kind of situation?

"Relax," He sighs, like he's bored out of his mind. This guy really is very mentally exhausting. "I'm just assessing you in preparation for reincarnation."

"Huh?" I ask. Not completely understanding everything that comes out of his mouth. "Reincarnation?"

"Well, not so much as reincarnation but transportation," He explains, flipping a few pages of the paper on his clipboard. "The thing is that I had meant to kill someone else who looks a lot like you but well… you know."

"What did this person do?" I ask, trudging to the newly appeared chair that lit up out of nowhere, and take a seat.

"Usually I have the power to kill off anyone I want, when I want," He sighs yet again, now rubbing his temples a bit. "However, this man was scheduled for reincarnation into another realm under the oversight of another, so to prevent that, I have to kill him through mortal means."

"You've sort of lost me," I blurt, moving my arm to scratch the back of my head. "What do you mean by reincarnation- or transportation as you say?"

"I'll get to that," He smiles, finally meeting my eyes with a warmer expression on his face. Cocky bastard. "But first, let me scan over your data."

Data? I never understand what slips from his pink plump lips. Oh! That's right! I don't know who this lunatic is. He knew me though, and he acts really important. I should at least know the name of my killer before moving on, no?

"Hey, who are you?" I query, finally speaking out the question on my mind.

"Who am I?" He asks, with furrowed brows and a tipped head, as if to say he doesn't understand my question.

"What's your name?" I question, starting to raise my guard even higher. My perception of him just shot up from lunatic to utter, grade A psycho. "How should I address you?"

"Hm.., I don't know how to answer that," he says, grabbing his chin and pressing his eyes shut in a long ponder. "I don't really have a name. And I guess you can address me as your owner."

"My owner?" I retort, moving him from grade A psycho back to brain dead lunatic in my mind.

"I am the monitor of this realm," He says, lowering the clipboard, allowing me to see his face. "If you wish to address me with something like a name, you can call me NET."
