Chereads / Not Your Average Human / Chapter 42 - Father's Home

Chapter 42 - Father's Home

"Lady Kellian, why do you want to get stronger?" Tyson asked.

"Well, I have to get stronger either way, don't I?"

"It just seems like you have something else motivating you aside from the fact that it's your duty."

"I want revenge," Kellian answered.

"Revenge?"

"They took so much. I almost lost everything. I want to make those people pay."

"I see. Your intent seems innocent for now, so I won't scold you. Just know that you must never let revenge blind you. Not only is it terrible overall to ruin your life chasing after revenge. But it could be detrimental if you are the one to do it." Tyson explained.

"What do you mean?"

"If you become blinded by revenge, you will quite literally lose yourself. You will become an unstoppable force of destruction that destroys everything in your path. You won't stop at just achieving revenge." He continued.

"Why is that?"

"Great power is both a blessing and a curse. To fully utilize your power, you need to have a calm mind and control your emotions. If you don't have these, you could easily lose control." He answered.

"I see. So with great power comes great responsibilities."

"Exactly." Tyson smiled. "You're a quick learner."

"I have a great teacher." Kellian smiled sweetly.

"Aww. You even know how to flatter me. Anyway, it's only been a week, and you can already control your flames while having a conversation."

"I did it!" Kellian had just realized she had been keeping all ten candles in front of her lit. She had even prevented the candles from melting too quickly. All while conversing with Tyson.

"Now that you have mastered all the basics. Let's try using some of my more advanced abilities."

"Okay! Bring it on!"

"You just have to love those students that are excited to learn." Tyson smiled proudly.

Meanwhile

"Will this work?" Amy asked.

"Are you doubting us?" Amanda frowned.

"It's just that... It's been a week. Everything has failed so far."

"And whose fault is that?" Sheila spat.

"I'm sorry." Amy apologized.

"We are sure this one will work." Amanda smiled confidently.

"You said he likes to check her food by eating it, right?" Sheila asked.

"Yes," Amy answered.

"Well, he won't eat this fruit yoghurt parfait. He hates yoghurt." Sheila smirked.

"What poison are we using this time?" Amy asked as she watched the two prepare the lunch while holding the one she made for Liam.

"A slow-acting painful one. That thing has lost the right to have a quick death. She doesn't even deserve this. It's too pretty." Amanda said as she added the finishing touches.

"Now go. Kill that brat." Sheila smirked as Amanda handed Amy the finished meal.

"Yes, sister."

Amy took the yoghurt and the meal she prepared for Liam. She went to the room and got in the way she usually does.

Liam stared at the yoghurt she brought for Kellian.

"Is something wrong?" Amy questioned.

"Is that yoghurt?"

"It is," Amy replied.

"Throw it out and make something else," Liam ordered.

"What!? But I worked so hard making it!" Amy complained. 'I didn't make it. But I do have to feed her this poison. So, forgive me for lying to you!'

Liam stared and Amy, "Then you feed her."

'I can't believe the plan is working! Finally, my only rival will be dead, and Liam will love me again!' She thought as she took a spoonful and brought it to Kellian's lips.

"Stop," Liam commanded.

"What's wrong?" Amy asked nervously.

Liam smiled wickedly, "Eat it."

"Huh?" Amy was confused.

"Test it for poison."

"Haha. Right." Amy faked a smile and took two spoonfuls. 'Luckily, they chose a slow-acting poison. All I have to do is throw it up when I leave.' She brought another spoonful to Kellian's lips.

"Stop," Liam demanded.

'Why is he stopping me again?' She continued to smile, "What is it?"

"That would be an indirect kiss. And I'm not okay with that." Liam stated.

"Gasp! Are you perhaps jealous?" Amy got excited.

"No. I have no clue where your mouth has been. It could contain a multitude of gross germs. No, actually, I'm positive it does. I can't have you putting that in Kellian's mouth."

"I can get a new spoon." She said through gritted teeth.

"No. My lunch is this chicken soup right here. I can share it with Kellian." Liam smiled.

"What about the yoghurt?" Amy asked.

"You eat it," Liam stated.

"What? But—"

"But what? You will have to make yourself lunch, won't you? You can't let the yoghurt go to waste. Just eat it." He cut her off.

"Okay... I'll save it for later." Amy tried to get out of the situation.

"No," Liam asserted.

"What?" Amy began to panic. 'Please don't tell me you want me to eat it here!'

"You're so skinny. You have to eat more. I am going to make sure you get the nutrition you need. Sit there and it all, right now." He commanded her to eat in front of him.

'He cares about my health. I have to eat it while he still cares about me. But the yoghurt is poisoned. Ahh! Oh well! It's worth it!' Amy smiled excitedly, "Of course."

Liam and Kellian ate the soup while Amy ate the yoghurt.

Amy kept trying to leave after she finished. Liam found this suspicious, so he kept her for as long as he could. Then finally let her go. As soon as she was free, she ran outside and made herself throw up.

An hour passed.

Liam came down the stairs and stood in the living room.

"So now you decide to show yourself after holing yourself up in that room." Sheila spat.

She was about to walk over and grab him, but someone with confident steps strode into the room.

Liam said two words, "Father's home."

She immediately ran behind Liam and placed her hands gently on his shoulders.

"Darling." She greeted.

"Don't touch me!" Liam slapped her hands away and walked over to his father.

"Liam, what's wrong? Why did you hit your mother?"

"She attacked me." He showed his injuries.

"Sheila... What is the meaning of this?" Tyler began to glare at his wife.

"Sweetheart! It was an accident. I was holding his arm when he said I wasn't his mother, so I got mad. My claws came out on accident and hurt him." Sheila lied.

"Is this true?"

"The only truth in that statement is the part where I told her she wasn't my mother and the fact that she hurt me," Liam informed.

"Sheila. Do not lie to me. What did you do to the boy?" Tyler ordered.

"Nothing!"

"What about what you tried to do to Kellian?" Liam asked.

Tyler's glare grew colder and more threatening.

Amanda and Amy walked in.

"I didn't try to do anything." Sheila lied.

"Lies. On that day, you planned to kill Kellian. When I called you out and refused to side with you, you attacked me."

"That's a lie. I don't know where our son learned to lie like this." Sheila laughed.

"I locked myself in Kellian's room because I was scared for my life and disgusted by your actions."

"That girl does not live here. You can't call that her room." She was upset he called the room Kellian's room.

"But it is her room. That room rightfully belongs to her." Tyler stated.

"W-what?" Sheila was shocked.

"That is beside the point. Is Liam telling the truth?" Tyler asked.

"It was a misunderstanding. I was only trying to explain that humans are dangerous, and he shouldn't get too close to them." Sheila said with a pout.

"Kellian isn't dangerous. Besides, it wasn't your responsibility to tell him that." Tyler frowned.

"I'm his mother! What if that thing woke up and tried to kill him??? You know how weak Liam is." Sheila retorted.

"That... thing?" Tyler glared at her.

"I mean the human." She cowered under his gaze.

"She has a name. Use it. And Liam isn't weak. How can you not even know your own son's strength?" Tyler asked, disappointed.

"Honey, you might not know this, but he has the worst physical score in his class," Sheila stated as if she knew more about Liam.

"He also took out an invader that tried to kidnap him a month ago. Just because he doesn't like violence, it doesn't mean he is weak. He'll fight if his or someone he loves' life is on the line. And that's a lot more important than some stupid practical test at school." Tyler educated her.

"You're not lying, are you?" Sheila refused to believe that.

"You dare accuse me of lying?"

"Of course not!" Sheila answered quickly.

"She tried to poison Kellian multiple times since I locked myself in the room with her."

"What?"

"Don't be silly. As you said, you locked yourself in there. I couldn't enter."

"You didn't need to when you had two accomplices."

"Sheila?" Tyler's face grew scarier by the second.

"How could I possibly get accomplices to do something like that?" Sheila avoided looking at her husband's face.

"You have a common goal. Isn't that right, Amanda?"

Amanda flinched as Tyler attention switched to her.

"Liam... are you... lying b-because you don't want to m-marry Amy?" Amanda was scared, but she knew she had to lie to save herself.

"Just this morning, you sent Amy to my room with poisoned yoghurt."

"I don't know what you—"

Amy threw up.

"You shouldn't have eaten it even if I did order you to. You are too simple-minded. How could you be half-witted enough to eat something you know is poisoned? But it helped me. So thank you for being so stupid." Liam smiled.

Sheila glared at Amy while Amanda collapsed to her knees. She saw the look on Tyler's face and knew they got caught.

"He's lying! The girl just has an upset stomach! He only wants to avoid the marriage and—"

"Shut up," Tyler commanded. "Amanda. Speak."

"Liam is telling the truth. I bullied Kellian back at school. I was embarrassed I lost a fight with a human, so I told Mrs. Rhodes. She suggested that we kill her. I agreed and forced my sister to join us. We tried to convince Liam, as Mrs. Rhodes suggested, but he refused. Since then, we have tried to kill Kellian a total of twenty times. We failed every time because Liam stopped all of Mrs. Rhodes' plans. We are all guilty, but we manipulated Amy. She is innocent. Punish us as you please, but please don't punish Amy."

"You expect me to spare any of you. You tried to assassinate the single most important—"

"don't believe that lying brat! I didn't do any of that I—"

"Sheila, you disgusting piece of trash. I let you into my home, and you plan to murder an innocent child under my roof!?" He yelled.

"It's just a pathetic human! Why should I care!?" Sheila spat angrily.

Tyler slapped her so hard she fell to the ground. He then walked over and asked, struggling to contain his anger, "That "human" is Kian's daughter. Are you going to take responsibility for killing her if you succeed?"

"W-what? But she's human. She can't be..."

"Get out of my house," Tyler ordered.

"What?"

"Actually, no. As acting King of all werewolves, I use my authority to banish you from our werewolf society." Tyler turned his back to her.

"Darling! Please, you can't do this!!!" She begged, grabbing his foot.

He looked at her like he was looking at a mosquito, then kicked her off, "I will get the official papers ready by tonight. Don't bother taking anything because I plan to burn all your items."

Tyler tried to walk away, but she crawled after him and grabbed his foot again, "Where will I stay??? You can't do this to me!"

He kicked her face this time, "You have hotels in all the different societies and a bank account you tried to hide from me in the human society. I'm sure you'll survive."

"B-but—" She still crawled after him.

"As a final act of kindness, I won't announce you as an omega. But I will tell all officials to kill you on sight if you are found anywhere near the werewolf society or any blue-haired girls." He turned around and explained.

"Darling... please..." Sheila pleaded as tears streamed from her eyes and nose.

"I'll send you the divorce papers along with your official banishment papers. For now, you can stay in the dog house that Cookie hates. It will suit you well." Tyler ignored Sheila's pleading.

"Now leave. Before I have the guards remove you." Sheila left with her head hung low, still ugly crying.

"Amanda, I won't banish you. But you no longer have any relations with this family. You are still allowed at your school but under constant surveillance. You are required to keep a low profile, refuse all titles, make no friends and never cause problems. If you do, you will get banished along with Sheila. And don't think I won't know if you disobey the terms. Trust me, I will know."

"As for Amy. Send her to a new school. I don't want her anywhere near my son, and I know she won't listen to reason unless you send her away."

"Yes, sir. Thank you for being so kind." Amanda thanked.

"If I were the official King, I'd have you all executed in front of every man, woman and child in this society. You better thank whatever god you believe in because if I had my way, you'd be dead." He whispered in Amanda's ear.

"Yes, sir." Amanda cried tears of joy. 'This is a way better fate. Although, I will have to outcast myself. At least, I'm alive and will have an average life. And Amy will be able to live her life normally.'

"I'll send official documents to your parents."

"Yes, sir. Goodbye." Amanda took Amy and left.

"Does this mean I can't see Liam again?" Amy asked.

"Yes."

"But, sister..."

"Would you rather go back there and die!? He spared us."

"But, sister..."

"If you disobey the orders and get killed, don't blame me."

"But my relationship with Liam..."

"Doesn't matter anymore. You go near Liam, and you will get killed."

Amy began to bawl, "I would rather die!"

"You don't mean that. I hate what we have to do too, but I have almost died before. It is not a fun experience."
