She started the engine and pushed the accelerator she drove through out the town dodging other cars she drove until she was out of the city, she didn't care where she was nor did she have a particular destination in mind to reach. She could see the shimmering clean blue water flowing beside her beneath the rocky cliff. the water gave a clean reflection of the coniferous trees beside it. it felt like an inverted world there. only if it was real she would have jumped without a thought. the road was ending and she could see rough path ahead on the cliff. She kept on driving straight.
Tears fell from her eyes she felt angry, and frustrated, she felt like everything had ended. The job she came to Canada was no more and moreover she was out of money and she had to pay electricity bills, water bills, she had to pay her rent and she had to refill her car tank but now she didn't even have money nor someone to help her in this new country; she felt alone for some reason.
Her vision had started to blur as her eyes were filled with tears. She cleared her eyes with the back of her hand and one hand on the steering wheel, she was now on a cliff it was rocky path she increased her car speed. as the car moved up and down in an unsteady way.
her eyes looked straight ahead while her mind was at war with itself. when all of a sudden someone popped in front of her car out of nowhere and a gun aimed at her. her eyes stared at the familiar muscular figure with bald head. She gasped as it clicked in her mind. it was the gunman the same guy from her roof, who had tried to kill her before.
she had to react fast. she started to freak out and turned the steering wheel towards the right. she just wanted to get away from here. the tires screeched across the rugged uneven path, the car drifted it was moving in the wrong direction there was water ahead she pushed the break with all her strength. she closed her eys waiting for the water to hit her or hit a rock bottom but nothing came. to her surprise the car had come to a sudden halt and the tires stopped moving. She opened her closed eyes she was on the dead end , the car was half in air and half on land she was hanging from a cliff. the water beneath her threatened to pull her inside. She hated herself fro wishing earlier to go inside this water. now it was inviting her.
'a person should really think before they wish.' she scolded herself.
She tried reversing the car but instead of moving back it started swinging back and forth. She was terrified.
"HELP! HELLLP!" She shouted on top of her lungs but of course no one could hear her. she slightly turned around to see if the gunman was still there. luckily he had gone as fast as he came.
''I need help I should call someone right now. But who, its no use to call my brother he can't come here, who should I call then I don't even have any friends in this unknown country"
The fact she was lonely hit her harder this time .She knew it was end, all her life was going to end right abut any moment or ....
(Sarah's p.o.v)
'Now what, I have to think fast or I will end up dead' I thought to myself
"Wait a sec" I spoke to myself as something came in my mind I quickly picked up my purse on the other seat as the car shook slightly. opening it i scanned all the business cards properly tied in a bundle in my purse.
"Please be true please" I silently wished to myself.
"It has to be true please don't be a stupid dream you are the only evidence and my only source of help you damn card"
"Found it" i shrieked in happiness "I knew you were true" i screamed in victory as i held a thin blue card in my hands. my only source of hope currently.
I took my cellphone and carefully tried to dial the same number printed on the business card.
I checked it twice and touched the call button I brought the phone near my ear the phone was ringing on the other end "please pick up please" I pleaded after a minute I grew impatient I was about cut the call when someone spoke "hello"
I almost jumped in bewilderment and the car started shaking violently and I realized it really wasn't the best thing to do right now.
"Is someone there" the voice spoke from the phone
I took a deep breath and replied "Its time you return the favor"
"huh" he was surely confused
"I saved your life now its time you return the favor"
"uh that can I return your favor another time I am a bit busy right now"
"If there would be another time , is your work more important than a person's life"
"Why are you dying?"
"I might be dead any second" I scowled
"wait, what, why"
"Because my car is hanging from a cliff and it will dive any second in the blue water drowning along with me" i almost screamed at the person. i was growing impatient with time.
"Oh okay I am coming" he seemed to be running and then I heard engine starting he was definitely coming for help I didn't know whether to be happy that I was going to be saved or to be scared that I am hanging on a cliff.
I was dragged out of my thoughts when someone spoke from the phone "Where are you exactly?"
"I don't know, all I know is that I have crossed the city limits and far ahead I went and the road turned into a rocky path"
"And how am I supposed to recognize its your car"
I seriously lost it "the car that is half hanging off a cliff is my car" I screamed at the speaker I literally wanted to punch his face for asking that question "now would you be so kind to reach here before I die" I added sarcastically.
"Well I am coming as fast as I can"
"Where the hell are you" that is the last thing he said and the signals went out.
"Great now, what I am supposed to do wait and see that whether he is going to come first or my death" I wondered aloud to myself.
There was a sudden thud and the car shook.
I turned around and someone had entered the car from the trunk.
he wore a blue formal office suit. his clothes hugged his muscles. his raven black her gelled backwards. his eyes were deep brown.
"Who the hell are you" i was a bit shocked and amused at the scene.
"umm.. I guess you called me for help, was that you" he looked at me with questioning cocoa brown eyes.
"oh I got it, now tell me how is it that you plan to help me by making the car swing more violently" I was freaking out
"OK" he sucked in a breath "let me take the drivers seat will you"
"fine" I mumbled and tried my best not to shake the car when I moved aside for him to take over.
He came on the drivers seat took in a breath "Okay I am going to try to reverse this car"
"what makes you think i have not tried that already" i mumbled silently.
"well will you stay quiet and let me try it" he bore holes in my head with his eyes.
"okay go ahead" I looked at him with hopeful eyes.
He took the gear in his hands and pressed the accelerator the car moved but to my surprise not in the direction I expected it to, we were moving forward instead of moving backwards.
"What did you do" I was freaking out.
"Put your seat belts on" he screamed we were falling down and I was going to die any second ; all my efforts to save myself by avoiding this car to fall were gone in a second. with each second we neared the water. my heart drummed against my chest.
I closed my eyes praying for the forgiveness of all my sins as the car splashed into the water and water gobbled up the car inside, the water hit me hard on the side I opened my eyes feeling the seat belt around me click open I couldn't see clearly water was burning my eyes I tried to hold my breath I couldn't hold it longer I wished I could swim I was drowning. darkness was enclosing around me. threatening to engulf me. and in a moment everything around me blacked out...
