When she heard the new name her Master had given her, it felt like it had always been her name and she had just forgotten it.
The little goblin came back. It clutched the pail of water to it's chest. It's arms wrapped around it as it speed walked back to the village.
He passed the scary metal monsters and walked toward the metal man, but Dawn stopped him and snatched the bucket before he could deliver it.
The little goblin considered it's job done and ran back to it's group.
Dawn presented the bucket to his Master, highly curious about what he would do.
The robot took it and looked inside. There was definitely enough water. According to the information on the ability, a person only needs to have a sip to get the proper effect.
With a thought, he activated it.
He poured his mana into the water, which it absorbed crazily. The more he poured in, the more he started to feel like there was no end to the amount it could take.
He couldn't test it's limits right now and had to stop. After summoning so many scrap drones to surround the village, he was drained. It seemed that even after the upgrade to his core, it still wasn't enough. He made a note to upgrade this further in the future.
"This should be enough." The Curse of Rusting was classified as one of the weakest curses. Even the most diluted and low grade purification item could dispel it.
He handed the bucket to the elder. "Have the affected ones drink the water if possible. If not, just splash it on them."
The elder obviously didn't want to do what the strange metal man wanted. The Phoenix turned out to be a servant of this man. They worked together to surround the village and take them all captive. Who knows what other dastardly schemes they have up their sleeves!
While she stood there with the bucket hesitating, Janja snatched it from her.
"Janja what are you doing!?" She said in outrage. Since when had he grown bold enough to snatch something from the hands of the village elder?
"You think we have time for you to stand there?! If you don't trust the water that's fine, but I'm not gonna let her die without trying everything possible!"
Dawn nodded his head off to the side. Indeed, this village elder is incompetent. Many of her people are laying on the ground dying from Master's curse and she wastes time being indecisive. Foolish.
The orcs infected with the curse that could still move gathered around as Janja fed Relai the water.
He reached out and gently opened her mouth. Just this small movement was enough to cause cracks to form on the surface of her skin.
He then tipped the bucket and a small stream of water flowed out. He could tell immediately that the water was actually healing her!
The cracks on her skin started to regenerate and regain it's original moisture.
The nearby orcs gathered around and watched. Seeing that the water actually had an effect brought some hope to them as they waited for their turn.
Now that the orcs had been dealt with, the robot needed to head back home. After surviving Belthor's ambush, he knew they wouldn't give up that easily. So now that he had some the orc village under control, he had to go prepare.
A notification appeared in his vision congratulating him for subjugating his first village. He quickly checked what the reward was but it was just an extra skill point. It's good as it's practically a free level up.
He left the scrap drones under Ophio and Dawn's care as he returned back to the mine with Dusk. They had to sprint through the woods until they reached the other side of the mountain. Dusk was naturally nimble so he had no problem zipping through the woods, dodging the branches and hopping over the exposed roots of the trees.
The robot was very heavy and essentially the complete opposite of Dusk. He smacked into branches and tripped over roots. This pointed out a flaw in his body. He is very dense and slow.
After struggling through the woods for half a day, they finally returned. The miners had been working nonstop this whole time. A large pile of metal awaited him. After he made Ophio and sent her off to search the mountain, he got curious about how his power worked. That's when he made Dusk and Dawn
He used all the metal the miners had gathered up until that point to create them. He experimented with the design in order to see which was more effective, and used his ability Cosmetic Surgery to make metal that looked like cloth and had them wear it. Although he got a taste of Dawn's power when he tested the strength of the orc, he would have to wait until the humans attacked to truly see their capabilities.
So far, his plan was that Dusk and Dawn would act as Generals. They would control the battle on land, and Ophio would be the General of the sky. Now all he needed was foot soldiers. The subjugation of the orc village has boosted their numbers and increased their chances in the upcoming battle, but they are not exactly loyal. Also, they are living creatures that require food, clothing, shelter and so on.
This is why he wanted to rush back. He had to make the place defendable, and livable.
He opened up his menu and used his new skill point to purchase a core upgrade. He had to keep the scrap drones summoned back at the village, and he had to keep the miners going. This dropped his mana reserves too low.
With the extra mana from the upgrade, he sat down next to the pile of metal and began to create some drones.
