Chapter 17 - You're Name is Ophio

The robot wanted to cure her. After all, he was here to gather strong warriors. Though he was doing it rather forcefully, that doesn't mean he can't reward them as well.

This Janja, is the strongest orc in the village. Plus, he's gained the approval of Dawn, and even became his disciple. He decided to grant his request.

He opened up his skill list and looked through. Eventually finding one that seemed good.

[ Blessing ]

[ Used to bless a small body of water; typically bottle or bowl. Applies small health regeneration, luck, and purification to whomever comes into contact with it. ( Can be drunk for greater affect. ) ]

His summons had applied the Curse of Rusting to many orcs during the encirclement earlier. So instead of buying a simple purification spell, and having to cast it on them all individually, he opted for the spell, Blessing.

"Send someone to gather a bucket of water." He commanded.

The village elder sent one of the little goblins out of the encirclement.

His feet smacked against the floor hard as he ran. The pail swung around in the air as he sprinted to the closest stream. He didn't dare waste any time, the consequences could be too dire.

After he left, the rusted robots reformed the perimeter.

Breaking the silence as they waited for the goblin to return, the Phoenix spoke. "Master are you pleased with them?"

Huh?

All the goblins and orcs looked at her stupidly. Had they heard her correctly just now? Master?

"Mm... we'll have to test the rest of them back home, but, their performance so far puts me at ease."

The Phoenix spread it's large fiery wings as it leaped to his side in one swift movement. If you blinked you would miss it, and even if you didn't, you still wouldn't believe it.

The mythical creature, the great and legendary Phoenix that they were going to rely on as a last resort, was actually rubbing up against their enemy!

He petted the Phoenix's luxuriously soft feathers. She had done a great job finding such a large group so quickly, and she seemed to like being petted by him, so he didn't mind.

Dusk fidgeted with the scythe in his hands. He walked over hastily and interrupted the Phoenix's 'reward'.

"Hmph. Don't you have any shame? You may have proved your worth to Master this time, but what about during a real battle? That's where you have to prove yourself. Anyone of you're little birds could have found this village if they just circled the mountain once."

The Phoenix's feathers flared at his words. It's one thing to speak like that to her. It's another thing entirely to speak about her like that in front of Master.

"And? So you're saying that we only have purpose on the battlefield? That might be true for you, but I believe that a servant should be well rounded and useful at all times." Her words filled with loathing as she shot back, "Besides, the General's achievements are the same as his soldier's. If one of my birds found this place, it's the same as me finding this place. There's nothing wrong with rewarding me for that."

Dusk had no way to respond to that. Her words did make sense. In that case... Ah! He'll just have to get soldiers of his own!

The robot didn't mind their bantering. He just continued rewarding the little thing until he remembered something.

"Oh yeah, you left too suddenly last time so I couldn't name you. But I've thought of one now."

Desire shown in her eyes. Both of her companions that arrived with him had names. Even though she was the first to be created, it seems she'll be the last to receive a name. Still, she desired it more than anything; a name from her Master.

The robot was amused by the look on her face. It seems the name would be very important to her.

"You're name is, Ophio."
