Chapter 7 - Shameless

Chapter 7

The thing more important than money would be Information.

The old Bryan did not have a sound understanding of how the world worked.

Bryan decided to read.

[If you want to game the system, you should know the system.] Bryan decided to read about everything ranging from history to political institutions.

The system would only provide information which was universal. Politics, culture, history, the trifecta was something Bryan or rather King had to master on his own.

[Wait, I can use dollars,I can use other currencies as well for the system. Does it not mean I can use a currency of my own.]

[This means, the money is based on the feelings of people. My own currency.] Bryan smiled as he thought of that time and went back to studying.

Bryan was deep into his study, he forgot about the passage of time until.

"God Bless Us everyone,

We are broken people."

"Linkin park?" Bryan left his desk.

The song did not as Bryan felt a little annoyed that his next nuclear silo placement was disturbed.

He closed the Civ game as he walked out of his room.

He walked to the next room, it was late into the day. The Sun was high up in the sky and he knew the culprit.

"Eddie! Eddie! Your cousin is here." Bryan shouted.

"No! Wait!" A scared sound came out of his room as he opened his door.

Eddie looked around the dorm and did not find Betty.

"Don't. I don't like these jokes. It's not good for my mental health."

Bryan walked into the room which seemed straight out of Japan. Anime girls on the walls, it was not the typical boys room. He found the phone on a semi naked plastic stand of an anime girl. He stopped the music as he said.

"This won't be good for your physical health." Bryan smiled with the veiled threat.

Eddie gasped as if seeing someone he feared inside Bryan's face. The threat felt a little familiar.

"Sorry, I won't play it again. It was an alarm."

Bryan walked out of the room as he was done with his work. He needed to get to 'work'.

"Are you going to class?"

"No."

"Fuck, I was expecting to copy everything from you. Didn't you go to class?" Eddie spoke  to Bryan's back.

Bryan showed him a middle finger before he walked in.

[How will I give notes to Betty now?] Eddie thought about the impending crisis.

Bryan left Eddie at his door as he walked in.

He had an important thing to do before anything else.  It was to deposit the money into a bank.

[I need to go home for a day or two.] Bryan decided to go in person. He wanted the money and he also wanted to see his family.

He took a bath in the common room which made Bryan a little angry. Which king uses a common bath with the plebs. The only redeeming thing was how his body had changed into one of fantasies of countless girls at all the right places. Big Bryan had turned into Giga Bryan.

Bryan came out of the bath with a frown. He changed and then wrapped the money. He wanted to drop the cash at an automated deposit machine before going to the library.

It was not because Bryan wanted a quiet place. Like most people, he wanted a place with free AC. It was a little hot inside the dorms during the day.

"Bryan?"

It was Eddie who found him as he was about walking to the library.

"Did you not  say you won't go to classes? Already pussied out?" He teased him.

"No, I am going to the library."

Eddie's eyes lit him. He knew he had not judged him wrongly. He knew Bryan was a person who was serious about his studies.

"Great! Study well and make good notes. I will see you later, I am going to get some pot for later tonight."

Bryan nodded and left. He did  not know Eddie's plans.

It was a large hall. There were cubicles if anyone wanted the privacy to "study" biology but Bryan was here for serious things.

The goal was simple. He needed to know the relationships between nations before he broke them apart. He wanted to make it large in this life, larger than America itself. That was his American dream.

He chose a corner table after he picked up a few books about history as he dived into his books. Students came and left but Bryan was the only constant.

"Did you solve the assignment?" A girl next to Bryan spoke to her friend.

"Not completely."

"Same."

Bryan overheard the conversation. He looked up to see the girls.

[Isn't it the one Kevin was searching for?] He thought.

The girl had long straight black hair which sometimes fell on her face as she used her hand to place them behind her ear.

Eddie had described her as the legal loli but Bryan was not a weeb.

It wasn't that Bryan was in love. Bryan did not love. Love turned men into Simpletons aka simps. Bryan fu cked and he wanted to know this girl just to get closer to Kevin, his personal ATM.

"Let's have dinner, then we can try it again."  The legal loli suggested

The girls left their books and the assignment on the table.

Bryan looked at the paper. It was a computer programming assignment. Bryan was not the best coder but he did study for interviews in his last life. The last problem.

"A man is going for a hike. Maximize the calories in his bag."

[Knapsack problem.]

"It's a simple problem in combinatorial optimization." Bryan spoke as matter of fact.

Bryan was already judging the fake nerds. He still wrote the hints to the question. He did not want to write the full answer.

He did his magic and went back to studying. He heard the

footsteps and looked to confirm.

It was the same girls walking back to their benches.

The legal loli one looked at the assignment and frowned. She took out her phone to confirm the answer.

"It's done."

"Wow. You are so smart." The other girl complimented her as she read the solution.

The legal loli one did not reject and just nodded and smiled.

[Fuck! Is every girl so shameless?] Bryan judged her.
