But Carter obviously didn't show up, so Kadenn won by default. From there, Kadenn breezed through his remaining four matches, securing a spot in the main tournament with ease.
Once in the main event, Kadenn continued winning in overwhelming fashion, impressing representatives from different empires with his mastery of rare, long-forgotten skills.
The only reason these powerful figures didn't gang up on him and take everything he owned was because they weren't sure about his identity, seeing only some fake stats.
Wain made Kadenn wear his old robe under the armor, making it impossible for anyone to see his true abilities. On top of that, Luarin engraved a magic array onto Kadenn's armor to make him appear as if he were in the upper range of the 4th Grade.
