A sharp cackle then pierced through the sound of raindrops drumming against the ground. "I should be happy the fucker died. I couldn't scratch my head in peace when he was around." The cackle turned into a chuckle. "Besides, he lived out his life."
Peter was eighty-nine when he passed away three weeks ago. Unfortunately, Brian was the one who found him the morning after. Since then, everything else went downhill.
"Adam is leaving. He wants to open another restaurant up State." Brian ran fingers through his curls. "He's been planning this for months. Then…"
His father died. Adam had gotten his father's ambition. The restaurant had grown since it was opened. Peter and Brian had opened a few chains in several different States before Peter retired. Adam was carrying on his father's legacy.
