Jared find himself just standing there and staring at an open space ever since Mark left till his phone rang which jolted him back to reality.
"Hello, mom", he said when he picked the call and discovered it was his mom calling.
" How are you son? I just called to remind you that the birthday celebration of your dad start by 5pm tomorrow. Ensure you are here on time ", she told him reminding him that his dad was celebrate his 60th birthday tomorrow and he needed to be there.
" Oh ! She should come too, everyone must be present ". This was said like an after thought...
The she in question was Megan, if it wasn't his dad birthday and the fact that they don't want to get tongues wagging, she will have been excluded.
" She is my wife , Ma", he told her tiredly.
" Yes , I know but that doesn't mean I have to love her ", she counters back angryly.
His family has always shown their disappointment after he married her cos none of them wanted her after what she did in the past.
" It is okay, Ma," he replied like it was already a lost battle already.
He understand that they felt bad for what he went through and felt she was here to do more damages especially now that he is wealthy.
He couldn't tell them about his reasoning for marrying her because they won't understand.
His mom will even have more leverage to tell him to divorce her.
Her reason for not saying anything now about the divorce is, she felt he is in love with her.
His mom might not be supportive of his choice of partner but she wants his happiness above all.
Jared thrust his hands into his side pockets as he slowly walked back into the garden.
" Has he gone?", Megan asked him immediately he sat down.
" Yes, he has", he replied as he sat down quietly .
" What were you guys talking about earlier before I walked in?", he questioned her for the second time staring at her.
" Nothing really ", she replied as avoid his stares. She didn't really think telling him what Mark said about him will do them any good.
" So you are keeping things for me?", He asked her.
" I am not ", she said then threw up her hands and said " fine, I will say it. He said I hurt and broke you in the past that I shouldn't do it again ". Saying this doesn't bring her any happiness.
He scoffed after he heard what she said and asked " broke me? One of the funniest jokes I have ever heard ".
She watched him unable to say anything. She was just speechless.
" I was fine without you and will always be?", He said as he stood up even though he tried to act cool she could see the anger in his eyes.
" You were the one who needed my help and came to me . Don't forget that and don't you have any nonsense ideas about us because there will never be us", he said as he walked out.
She just kept on watching him walked out with her heart in pain from his words and the fury in his eyes.

As Bridget Macallam went off the call with her son, she curse softly.
She is a beautiful mid age woman with brunette hair.
She was on the slender side without any fine lines on her face showing how kind life has been with her.
She has this good aura that makes people want to be close to her without her trying.
She was mad at her son Jared for deciding to marry that Lady.
She didn't like her one bit and her act of innocence couldn't fool her either.
When he had call her that he was married and to Megan of all people , it has been a shock to her as she wondered what kind of hold she has on him.
She had known Megan since she was little or she thought she knew her until what she did that proves that she didn't.
If she had just cheated on him, she wouldn't have this hate for her but him going on a spiral bend and harming himself over and over again by trying to commit suicide while Mel act like relationship is evil and think there is no love made her not to want her close to her babies because it is not something they can forget.
To her, Megan Stark was bad News and she detest everything to do with her.
" I don't just understand why Jared went back to that lady of all people when there are so many beautiful women out there", she said as she sighed softly voicing out her endless thought as she sat down.
" You should let them be, he is old enough to know what he wants", Her husband Tyler Macallam said in his baritone voice.
He is a very handsome man that doesn't look his age but looks like he was in his mid 40s instead which stem not only from good genes but exercises and healthy lifestyle.
He was about 6 ft, had a salt and pepper hair and dimples when he smiles.
Even he is not in support of the couple being together but knows that everyone has their own choices to make.
" You never seem to see anything wrong with them being together", she chided softly.
" Honey, we have been through this. Jared is a grown man and knows what he wants. If you interfer in his business too much, you might end up pushing him away", he advised as he placed his hand on hers knowing this was one sore topic for his wife.
" I am just worried about him and don't want him to get hurts again", she stated as she looked into his eyes making him sighed.
" He will be fine , Honey", he assured her, they have been through this discussion since the marriage.
"I just hope so", she muttered softly , you could see the sadness in her eyes to tell you that she wasn't happy one bit.
