While Wolf was speaking with Rhett in his bedroom a maid came to notify Fort that his father wanted to speak with him in the grand hall where the throne was located at. Fort followed the maid to his father location and upon arriving he was ushered in. The giant doors were closed behind him as he stepped in, making him feel uneasy as something felt off. All of the windows were covered with dark curtain causing it to be dark in room. Fort was having a hard time seeing as to where he was going but as he looked down he began to walk along the red velvet rug that was laid out on the floor it lead him to his father who was at the end of it sitting up above on his throne as if he were a king.
Once he reached the bottom of the stairs he looked up seeing his father sitting their with his right hand balled into a fist against his cheek holding up his head, giving a glare towards Fort direction. He looked angry, you could even feel his aura as it sent of strong waves of hatred throughout the room. Fort decided to speak first.
You called for me Father. He said with a hint of anger in his words as he slightly bowed, then standing back up straight giving his father a glare back as he only felt resentment towards him for how he treated his young brother.
Yes I did call for you Fort, you are my son after all. I called you here today to inform you that you have been bestowed upon princess Asherah Kratis from a distant southern Kingdom. Seeing as you are from a royal bloodline they wished to find a husband for their only daughter she is around your age so it shouldn't be a problem. But since you are still young you will be sent to the royal academy that is located in the center of the capital. Once you turn 13 you will move to their land and live with your soon to be bride till you both turn 18 and then a wedding will be held. You will then most likely be named to be the next King and her the Queen and so forth, you get the point. He told him while giving him a smirk knowing that it would upset him that he would be leaving his little sister behind. While Fort who usually had a look of being upset had been shocked to the core that he couldn't even reply. He face looked as if all color had left it.
He stood their for a while as his father just kept on smirking. Percy then called for the guards to take the young boy to his room and to have his maids assist him in packing his belonging so that he could go to the capital for his studies.
Father wait, am I to never be able to return back home to see Reyna or Rhett? He asked as his anger began to build up knowing what the answer was to that question.
Of course you will be visiting only on holidays when all of the children return home to see their families. Only until you turn 13 and then you will be with your future bride and will start your own family. You won't have a reason to return back to the mansion once that happens. He said while giving an evil grin.
Father could you not reconsider please, I don't want to leave my home nor my family. I refuse to get married. I want to be around to see grandfather get better, to see my sibling grow, I want to be with you father. When Fort told Percy that it shocked him his grin immediately went away and he frowned instead.
It's to late the Kratis family already sent over their payment to have you. He said as he looked down at the young kid. Who now had anger in his eyes and they were directed to his father. Fort could only think to himself at that moment. ( How could he sell me as if I'm not his son his own blood. Do we not mean anything to him? What will happen to Reyna, while I am gone?)
Father how could you sell me as if I am just livestock? He said trying to hold back his tears as he didn't want to show his father just how much it bothered him.
I didn't sell you it's tradition to send gifts to the family who wants a certain person to be engaged to their child. Their gifts just happen to be a piece of their land as well as one million pieces of gold. I think its a fair trade seeing as your own grandfather used to rule over the land. You are the grandchild of a former king, you have quite the value to your name. He said as he smirked even bigger. He then called for a maid to bring him his drink as he was being to be parched.
Guards please take him away I am done with this conversation now. Percy said as he took a sip of his drink while raising his hand to send away Fort from his sight.
Two men in heavy armor came up to the child and each grabbed one of his arms, lifting him up slightly as they turned towards the door to exit the room.
HOW DARE YOU! I'LL BE BACK AND I WILL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS , JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE YOU COWARD! Forts words could be heard throughout the halls as he yelled at the top of his lungs. The guards took him to his room even though he kept yelling during the whole time. They threw him in the room locking the door behind them and they waited outside. Fort got up from the floor as he banged on the doors demanding to be set free. The maids were already in his room packing all of his belonging so that he could go to his boarding school to do his studies, before he would be wed to a young princess. As he kept banging on the door he began to get tired. He then fell to the floor on his knees, bailing his eyes out knowing that he would be gone by tonight. A young maid took pity on the boy she soon approached him.
Young Master everything will be okay, you will be able to visit the castle on holidays. She tried to comfort him, by saying those words. She then embraced the young boy into a tight hug knowing that no one would be able to stop Lord Percy on his decision to send him away. She softly wiped his fallen tears off his cheeks. His eyes were all puffy for his crying, and his face was all red. It made her feel sad seeing him like that, yet she gave him a warm smile as she looked down at him.
Thank you Emily I needed that hug, as I don't have a mother to be here and comfort me like you while trying to make me feel better in the process with those sweet words to reassure me. Can I at least say goodbye to my little sister please, I don't want her to think that I abandoned her. Please Emily I need to see her before I leave I beg of you to let me go say goodbye at least. He said will begging on his knees.
I'll see as to what I can do, wait here young master. She said while looking at the door behind him. She knocked softly asking to speak with one of the guards. They opened the door as she stepped out and spoke to then. It felt as if she would never return to Fort, but then the door opened up revealing Emily in the opening.
Come here young master go to lady Reyna to say your goodbye and then meet me outside the main entrance in twenty minutes. That's where the carriage will be and it will arrive shortly to take you to the capital. Please be outside I don't want to get in any trouble. So be there in twenty minutes. She said while giving him a genuine smile. Fort did not hesitate at all he took off out of the room, running as fast as he could to get to Reyna as soon as possible. He just needed to get to her in that moment.
