Nathan swore. "Sorry man. You know I feel strongly about her. Please stand up." He put his hand out to pull T. J. up. He gently pulled the other man up as if he weighed nothing.
Nathan bit his bottom lip and looked his friend in the eye. "I have never been more terrified in my life. One wrong move; she's back in her mother's house and virtually untouchable. I don't mind courting her but if I have to start with asking for her number again, I don't know if I can handle that Bro."
T. J. rubbed his trimmed goatee. "I get it. When Brianna decided that she wanted Bryan and not me I wasn't sure how I could go on. Then when she decided to leave me with an 18-month old boy who barely understood who I was…it was rough. 15 years later my baby boy is a father's dream. It's a risk worth taking."
He patted the younger man on the shoulder. He stood up from the edge of the desk as he glanced at his watch. "Speaking of my son, I have a sparring session with him and your boy."
