Chapter 16 - The Jinns

"The snakes of Tabasha are obedient to the jinns that live in the mantle of the earth. They serve as the flagbearer of blood cured warnings."

"Those are just so many thick words. Please use a comprehensible language," said Ali.

"Jinns are creatures, you can say like spirits. They are not actually spirits but you can imagine that to make it easy for you to understand. They live in the mantle and the core of the earth. The ones on the mantle have made unpopulated areas on the crust as there own territories. They do not fight until fought with. I don't know why they might be interested in harming you."

"Okay that is truly a bit too much to digest," said Ali as he slowly rubbed his temples.

"How do you know all that?," said Mama eyeing Rani suspiciously.

"When I was 8 years old I got bit by a dog that according to the doctor had rabies. But that dog didn't have rabies instead he was a jinn that had morphed himself into a dog."

"Why did the dog bite you if Jinns don't harm anybody?"

"I was trying to pet the dog's puppies but I accidentally poked one in the eye with my nail and that is why the dog cum jinn bit me."

"This is not real, is it? You are just making everything up." Said Asia, rolling her eyes.

"But how did you see the snakes we couldn't and how do you know about the tiers and communities of Jinns," said Mama, suspiciously.

"Being bit by that dog cum jinn morphed my DNA. I was able to see jinns and other associates."

"I know I was attacked by snakes but they could have been just some basic snakes that somehow found there way too my room. Maybe some undiscovered species."Asia rolled her eyes nervously trying hard to pacify the fear that was stirring inside her like a whirlwind. She didn't want all of this to be true. Fighting the unseen is not everybody is capable of and certainly not Asia.

"It is what it is, Baji. I never lie." Said Rani.

Rani left after saying that. It seemed like she was a bit offended. They didn't admit to each other but Rani's potential anger made their mind abuzz. It felt as if Rani was their best friend who had decided to leave them stranded in the middle of nowhere. Nobody wanted to talk. Nobody knew that this feeling of despair was encroaching all of them.

There was pitch dark uncomfortable silence in the room. But it wasn't important to any of them. Rani was their main focus.

The silence was however broken by the nurse who had to change Asia's drip. Asia was being given intravenous Augmentin which felt like fire in vein. She was screaming for as long as the administration lasted. Looking at her like this made Mama wonder about the credibility of Rani's words.
