The elevator door opened at the 10th floor, the floor with the CEO's office. It wasn't very engaged or noisy. The uncanny silence sent shivers down Sayesha's spine. There weren't many people in sight so, she went straight to the receptionist's counter who was engrossed in some paperwork.
Sayesha cleared her throat and said, "Umm excuse me?"
The receptionist bowed and greeted her with a bright smile,
"Yes? How may I help you?"
"Hi, I'm Sayesha. I'm here to meet Mr. Bang for..."
She was cut mid sentence by the receptionist as she he excitedly said,
"Oh Sayesha ma'am! Welcome to Big Hit family! Mr. Bang already informed the staff about you. We're so happy to have you with us finally!"
Sayesha didn't really expect such a warm welcome but it was relieving too because she thought she'll have a hard time fitting in.
"Thank you so much for being so welcoming. Could you check my appointment..."
She was again cut mid sentence and the receptionist said,
"Oh yes ma'am! you indeed have an appointment with Mr. Bang but something came up last minute so he is busy right now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but you'll have to wait for another 15 minutes."
"Oh no worries. I'll just wait here," Sayesha said.
"By the way, I'm Aera. It's a pleasure meeting you, ma'am."
"It's lovely meeting you too, Aera and just Sayesha would be fine."
Aera chuckled and said,
"You are much senior to me but I'll try. Please have a seat. I shall call you when sir is ready for you."
Sayesha thanked her and was strolling around the area when she heard a distinctive voice coming close to her. Since it was so quiet there, she could hear it rather clearly.
She turned to the direction of the voice and saw a man's silhouette coming from the other side of the hallway.
She could hear him say,
"...yes sir I understand your concern but with one member injured like that, we can't perform tomorrow. Besides, he hasn't recovered completely so, you'll have to reschedule the shoot..."
The figure became clearer. It seemed strangely familiar to Sayesha and it looked like he was on another call now.
"Yes Hyung. I talked to him and I don't know now. He has to adjust with..."
And the very next moment, there he was, standing near the receptionist's counter so close to her, talking on the phone.
It was just another day for Aera so she didn't bother to look up but Sayesha froze at her place for a moment trying to decipher the scene in front of her eyes.
It was him. Kim Namjoon. The man she only saw through mobile screens and spent nights admiring. His voice was like a driving force when she felt like quitting. No wonder it seemed so familiar.
"He is unreal. How can someone's aura be so captivating?," She thought to herself.
The well built and attractive physique, those ocean like deep eyes, endearing pair of dimples and the purest smile.
He was really here, the man himself. The one she loved more than anything. The one who taught her to love herself.
A hundred feelings came crashing down to her heart but she didn't let it show. After all, she has to do it for a long time, it'll be her job. Namjoon kept talking on the phone unperturbed by Sayesha's presence.
"...yeah, I sent the papers to him. I just hope they don't create a fuss this time."
He sighed,"With Sejin Hyung gone, everything is such a mess, you know? I'm just trying my best to handle it all. And about the new..."
He was so absorbed in talking that he didn't realise that the bundle of papers he had in his hand was now all over the floor.
Seeing this, Sayesha smiled a little and thought,
"So, the responsible leader is after all a clumsy baby at the end of the day."
Without thinking much she started picking up the papers. Aera saw this and asked if she could help but Sayesha shook her head.
Finally, Namjoon put the phone in his pocket and noticed the mess he unintentionally made.
Sayesha picked up all the papers and handed them to Namjoon with no sign of agitation. The quick witted girl knew how to keep it together!
"Here you go."
Namjoon took the papers, ruffled his hair and politely said,
"Oh I'm so sorry, ma'am. I didn't realize."
His eyes met Sayesha's dark black eyes and something about them made him feel like he didn't want to look away. The silence that sorrounded them wasn't uncomfortable or defeaning. It was serene. It felt like..home.
