Chapter 20 - Brook and Roy

"I will check in my room, you go into yours," Liam quickly went into his door, Ava followed Rena as Rena's room was big and hence very hectic for a single person to search for a small dog.

"It is getting dark outside,"

"Huh? Don't say that~" Rena was searching behind her bed, her hand jumped on the pink bed, Rena's head pulled above the bed level. First Rena's eye went for the clock that was hanging on the wall of her room wall, "It is only 3:37 PM there is no way it will get dark-!" Rena's eyes tried to see outside the window. She gasped, "You are right. It is right. It is really getting dark outside like it is 6 or something,"

"But? Let it be, not our concern. The weather keeps changing we can't tell anything about it,"

"Yea, you are right," Rena continued her search.

"Found him?" Liam finished the checking of his room and came into Rena's room as Ava and Rena didn't come out of the room Liam already figured it out that they are still searching for Brook.

"Nope, no luck," Rena replied moving her head into her closet. Come on how can that poor do enter the closet?

"I guess you also didn't found him, Ava stopped her searching in the corners,"

"No, and I guess we should first search for him in the attic as it the most possible place where Brook can be,"

"Hm~ okay. Go for it Liam I am behind you,"

"I am with you," Ava got up from the floor, adjusted her skirt.

"Follow then Ava. See ya Rena," Liam took off, Ava ran behind Liam.

"The attic is in there," Liam lifted his finger to indicate.

"Okay, you first?"

"You can go first,"

"Fine, Liam,"

Liam took the lead though and helped Ava open the door, it was already opened but Liam needed to push it for Ava. Brook can get into any room or any house just by the small gap that is created, there is no need for Brook to open the whole door when he can get away simply through the small gap.

"Um, Liam where are the lights? Ava looked back at Liam, Liam was just as close to Ava.

"Um, Ava I am not able to see so if you will at least move in or come out then I will be..." There was no need for Liam to say forward. Ava already got the point. She understood how embarrassing the position and the situation both were.

Her face turned red as the same color that appears on Liam's face when he opens the mobile system. Ava quickly moved inside the attic with one step inside.

"I- I am sorry," Ava muttered. Liam was not able to hear it though.

Ava took one step. The height of the stair that leads to the attic. Two stars appear before going inside the attic. After the door of that attic is opened.

"please move Ava," Liam demanded when he came up and was not standing near Ava.

"Uh, Um... I guess it is not possible Liam,"

"What are you-?"

"There is too much darkness in this room. This attic is too dark," Well duh. That was true. It was already getting dark outside and this attic is originally dark even when it is a hot afternoon.

"And so I am scared that... please get the hint," Ava was polite.

"The hell now, the switch is just behind you back or across your shoulders I guess, I can't switch them on until you don't move,"

"Maybe then just try calling Brook then,"

"Or maybe you can just switch on the lights?"

"Oh- ah~ okay that is the best option," Ava turned in the dark attic, her hands were on the wall searching for the switch.

"Okay now wait... I have the mo-bile I will on the flashlight," Liam dug his hand into the pocket of his jeans. His mobile came out. Ava was waiting patiently with her hands still on the wall. Liam moved his thumb on the screen of that mobile. The light white light sparkled on Ava's face.

"Oh sorry," Liam apologized for the sudden flash on Ava's face and lowered down the torch of his mobile.

"It is okay," The flash of Liam's mobile glowed on Ava's hands. On the wall.

"See there, on you right just a little there is the switch,"

Ava followed Liam's guidelines although she was able to see those switches clearly.

"Brook!" Liam shouted before the lights of the attic were switched on.

"Where is he?" it took some time for Liam and Ava to adjust their eyes for the brightness of that room.

"Can you see him?" Liam asked his eyes were not fixed on the brightness yet.

"I can't see clearly yet, ah! It is clear now," Ava was the first one to get her eyes to adjust to the brightness.

"Eh? Huh, ~? That dog is not here?!!" Liam shouted in amazement.

"No Liam he must be-! He is not!" Ava also agreed. Her eyes were big after not seeing Brook anywhere in the room.

"He is not here. Well, it was not given that he was going to be here,"

"Hmmm... let us go then. Sister Rena must be feeling lonely,"

"Eh~ don't tell me she is still screeching for Brook in her room, that is very lame," Liam complained. Ava moved out of the room first then Liam followed her.

"I wonder what sister Rena is still doing downstairs I thought she was going to come up too,"

"Only after she is done with her searching for Brook in her room,"

"It should not take this long," Liam switched off the lights of that room.

"You know how big her room is,"

"But I had already searched the half for her,"

"But it is not given that Rena will not check those corners you looked for only because you looked for, she can double-check, you know she is very obsessed with her dog, he is mine also though,"

"That means sister Rena is still searching for Brook in her room?"

"to my knowledge she is,"

Ava and Liam started going down. The study room crossed them the room was also as dark as the attic.

"But the weather is strange today, never showed any symptoms of rain today in the report adhere itis being all dark,"

"It sure is strange," Ava repeated.

"You know what?" Liam started, "When the clouds get dark in this daytime, at afternoon in many movies it is the symptoms of the ghost to come to or to make any move,"

"Huh?" Ava didn't freak that much, she was gaining some control?

"Maybe Roy is coming back to get you," Liam made some booing near Ava's ear.

"Please, Liam. It is not funny," Liam broke out laughing. He was for sure thing that he was a riot.

"Hey, Rena!" Liam shouted. They were already on the 1st floor. She is not here I guess. Maybe downstairs?

"Let us go downstairs," Ava suggested. Liam took a last peek in Rena's room and his own room before going down.

"Liam,"

"Coming, coming to Ava," Liam caught up with her. They reached the ground floor. The floor was very cold.

"Rena?"

"Sister Rena?" no reply.

The hell. Where did she go? She is not here. Not in the rooms. Didn't come upstairs to the 2nd floor and not in the den also.

"Did she went out of the house?"

"Nope, we are yet to check the kitchen and the dining hall,"

She is not here. If she would have been then she would have at least answered,"

Although Liam said that he still followed Ava inside the dining hall.

"Hm, not here. Maybe in the kitchen?"

"Not here Ava," Liam was already in the kitchen.

"I see,"

"I told you she is not that dumb. Even though she has a strange sense of humor she will not go this far for just making her look humiliated. She will never play such a joke,"

"Ahaaa~"

"Huh?!"

"Liam! What is the horrifying scream?!! That sounded very-" Liam already moved out of the dining hall, "The backyard! We forgot that" Ava started running out of the dining room. Liam pulled open the door of the back yard.

"As I thought it was open,"

Liam went half outside and freeze. Ava reached.

"What is wrong Liam?" Ava looked at Liam and looked a what Liam was seeing. The air was cold outside. The leaves were falling. The afternoon was just getting darker.

"Looks like... what you said is true, Liam bites his lower lip.

"Aaaaah~" Ava also screamed, "I don't want to die yet!"

"Stop panicking! Control yourself take a deep breath!" The dark eyes! The dark red eyes fell on Liam. He hesitated. His body was trembling. I- IT had already spotted him.

"Grrrr..."

"he s coming Liam! Save me! R- Roy is coming!" The speed of Roy increased.

"Fuck! gO inside Ava!" Liam pushed ava inside the kitchen and barely dodged Roy's attack.

"Just what the hell you are? Hey Rena! Get up!" Rena didn't answer. Rena was lying on the floor, the grass of their backyard. On the soft grass which was green as well as red. The strange and weird mixture of two clours.
