Chapter 13 - CHAPTER NEW HOBBY

I look at the direction she's pointing only to see a head full of thick hair that had grown longer since school closed. The hair that used to fan over his forehead is now literally till his eye. Making only half of his hand which covered his face visible as the rest got covered under a curtain of black hair.

Grayson high had very strict rules about grooming and attire. Along with ironed uniform, polished shoes girls were asked to plate their hair on both the sides no matter how short it was. Which lead to Neha chopping her hair into a constant bob.(I'm still working on convincing her to grow it longer.) Boys also had to crop their hair short. No colouring, No styles and especially no facial hair. It was compulsory for the boys to be clean shaved. Anyone who didn't shave was given razor and made to shave in front of the whole school during assembly. Which was why boys in Grayson high were obsessed over their hair. During vacations they grow it out tried different styles some even dyed multicolours. Krishna was one among the few who never went to such extreme on the rare occasions of freedom.

I watch as Krishna rises his head once more on hearing Neha's acquisition. I had noticed earlier that the small area between his upper lip and nose was darker as if he had got some ink on his face. But now that I had a clear view of his face without Neha's weight distracting me. Neha's noise suddenly started making sense as I realize that it's actually hair and not some sort of stain.

Neha once again starts laughing and asking all sorts of stupid question to Krishna when she sees his face again. Sid went on fighting trying to shield Krishna from all the jabs Neha threw at him as I stood there motion less not really understanding the whole situation.

"Neha..! Jia..! Bring the boys and eat something!" Aunty shouted from the house probably preparing some sort of snack

"You come with me." Sid said pulling Neha with him as he made his way back to the house

"Jia you guys talk. I'm going to try seal this useless hole she calls her mouth." Sid said waving a hurried bye as he took a non-cooperative Neha with him

After the bickering pair leaves I stand still for a while watching Krishna who had his head bent down studying his shoes like how the first cave men must have looked at fire. When the silence started stretching into a awkward one I slowly make my way to sit right next to him on the worn out bed that had mine and Neha's name marked in sketch along with a lot of other unknown stain that had accumulated over the years.

"How was the wedding?" Krishna asks after what seems to be an eternity.

"It was fine. The usual." I nod trying to keep it short and causal

"Hmm." Krishna hums in response combing his hair back every once in a while but it refused to stay up and kept falling to his face as his head was still lowered

"I see you have taken up new hobby..." I say trying hard not to laugh

"Don't…" Krishna points his finger at me trying to give me a menacing look but I loose it when I see his face and end up laughing without control

He had a very light strip of hair on top of his upper lip that seemed to be a bit longer on one side than the other  the hair length was also uneven making some strand stand out. The moment he tried to look all angry his moustache became a curved line with one end a bit longer that the other. Only making me loose the inner struggle and end up laughing just like Neha.

"I'm the fool. I shouldn't have come here." Krishna says dejected as he gets up to leave

"Hey… I'm sorry… I won't do that again." I say in between heavy breaths from all the laughing as I try to pull him back to his seat

"But seriously--" I cut myself short raising both my hand in surrender when he directs me a accusing glare

"Is it that bad..?" Krishna asks me after a few minutes of silence

"Umm.... No." I barely catch his whisper

"Aaaa...! Why did I even think this was a good idea?!" He screamed into his hand pulling at the end of his hair

I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face watching him act all cute.

"Its not that bad.." I say turning his face towards me. I silently brush his hair back into its usual style. He just sat there silently watching me as I tried to fix his hair.

"You like it..?"

"I think it's ok. Its a bit longer than your usual style but what can I say my boyfriend look cute even if he's bald." I say shrugging my shoulder with a smirk

"Cute..? Not Dashing or breathtakingly handsome?" Krishna asks with a cocky grin on. Finally coming back to his usual self

"Hmm....." I rub my chin as if deep in thoughts

"I think you should ask that to Neha. She was the one rolling on ground without breath. She might be able to clarify." I say seriously trying hard not to laugh

"You...." I burst into another fit of laughter when his face changes into a scowl. He tries to keep his angry face on but fails without question and we both end up laughing our lung out

"Haa...." I sigh catching my breath

"Soo..... Did you miss me?" I ask expectantly

"Na. I didn't even know you were gone. Sid came over most of the time or else I would go to his place. We just hung out here and there. Evening we would go to play cricket, football or whatever with the guys. We wouldn't even know how the time passes. Just like that almost a month of our holidays is over and your here."

"Hmm... Me too you know. It was always so noisy and full of people at aunty's house. I didn't get time to even think about you. All my cousins were there and... and... hmm.... It was fun. I didn't miss you a bit. I actually wanted to stay there a few days longer but my dad could not take any more days off work so.... Otherwise I wouldn't have come till school reopened." I say trying to match his nonchalant attitude even though it pained a bit to hear that he didn't miss me. Ok.. maybe more than a bit...

"Aww.... You look cute when you pout." Krishna pulls both my cheeks chuckling

"Ow..." I remove his hands from my cheeks clearly not in a mood to fancy his teasing

"It was just kidding. I really missed you." He says trying to hug me side ways

"Whatever." I remove his hand moving to one side making more space in between us

"What? Really..?" He chuckles again seeing me sulking

"I was just joking around Jia." Krishna says coming closer as I kept moving further and further away.

When I almost reach the end of the bed I stand up to walk back to the house suddenly not understand why I choose to stay and talk with him when aunty's snacks were waiting. Krishna grabs my hand and pulls me backward making me fall on his lap. He hugs me from behind as I struggle to get out of his grip.

"Jia... I'm sorry. I really missed you. Really really bad. Even when I was hanging out with the guys I kept thinking about you. What you might be doing... If your bored or not... If you had food or not... how long it would take to get to Maft Arz... And whether or not my grandfather will notice if I go missing." I stop struggling as a smile starts tugging at the corner of my lip

"Then why didn't you come." I ask without turning back to face Krishna

"Because I was busy preparing a surprise for when you returned home." I finally turn back to face him with my eyebrows slightly raised
