Throughout the movie my mind kept wandering to the unnatural and stiff smile Krishna had and how he excused himself almost flying to the exit. Even though I should be happy now that he couldn't call bluff on me some how my mind kept replaying its new favourite scene over and over again making me fell some what anxious and concerned about him.
Why are you concerned about his feelings. Jia!! Get a hold of yourself. His skins thicker than a elephant. Ofcource he won't be hurt by a simple rejection.
He won't be hurt right..?
Oh god let him be what ever he wants why do I care....
"That was boring right?" Eddie's voice interrupted my internal battle
"Huh..?" I turn to look at Eddie who had his eyes focused on road
"The movie. Same old plot twist.. same old action sequence... I think even I can write a blockbuster if this is the standard." Eddie claimed quite confidently to which I smiled.
"What happened..? You seem off today." Eddie asked after a while turning towards me with concern in his eye.
"Nothing.." I replied with a smile and turn towards the window to avoid his eyes
"Don't say nothing. You have been distracted the whole day and not even laughing to any of my jokes." Eddie stated like that was what gave me away. And not him observing me carefully
"It's just work..." I smiled at him giving a reassuring squeeze to his hand that he had earlier placed in mine
"Ooh..." Eddie looked over at me as if that understanding why I was zoning out regularly
"Don't worry about it. We are trying to find a way. You won't lose your job." Eddie intertwined our fingers and looked confident as he drove forward focusing on the road. Not noticing the sudden confusion that crossed my face
"Lose my job..?" I turned my whole body to the side not understand Eddie's statement
"Ooh... I thought you knew." Eddie finally glanced at my face which was masked with confusion and understood we both were talking about completely different topics
"Ahh... Nothing. I was thinking about something else and got confused." Eddie fake laughed as he tried hard to hide his slip of tongue
"Eddie why am I losing my job? And what do you know?" I asked more sternly refusing to take my eyes of the person who was trying hard to focus ahead while kept stealing glances at me. Finally when he understood there was no way out he parked the car to one side of the road and looked over at me
"Look theres no need to panic like I told you. We are working on it--" Eddie started taking both my hands in his and looking at me as if he's going to tell me that I have cancer
"Cut the chase." I remove my hand from his hold and lean back towards the door suddenly feeling suffocated by our proximity
"I thought you knew when I saw you talking with Dr Das." Eddie too leaned back to his side taking the hint that I needed space
"Wait... What's Krishna got to do with any of this." I asked more confused than ever
"Dr Das is the client that I went to meet while we were in the mall." Eddie tried to explain
"You know that your hospital is part of Graysky foundation right?" Eddie asked scanning my face for any sort of reaction
"Ya. Our hospital and the special home." I said nodding my head that I knew.
Graysky foundation was a group of companies that centred in Grayson hills and Charagah. Both our hospital and special home for kids was funded by this foundation.
"And do you know who's the current CEO of the foundation?" Eddie asked once more carefully forming yet another question
"Ya. Shekkar Prasad. I meet him once when I started working. He came to inaugurate the new NICU section." I nodded my head remember the man who was well over 60s with salt and pepper hair where the white hair was slightly more in number than the black ones. But still the way he carried himself and the way people around him interacted with him you would know that he wasn't some silly old man. But rather a face of power.
"Ya. And do you know who Mr Prasad's grandson is?"
"I don't---" I started shaking my head done with his silly mind game. Eddie wasn't giving me any information but rather interrogating me
"No..." I say cutting into my own words as the most absurd thought took form in my head
"Ys.." Eddie grinned back at me nodding his head at my new found conspiracy
"He can't be..." I say shaking my head in denial even though all the puzzle pieces slowly started taking their right place in my head
"He is..." Eddie grinned nodding
"How..? When...? I mean-- I-- I---" I start stuttering not able to form sentences from my muddled thoughts
"Your friend Krishna is Mr Prasad's only daughter's son. His only grandson and only heir." Eddie says looking straight into my eyes holding my face with both his hands
Slowly like paint swirling in water my memory started flashing showing me the obvious that I have missed all these years.

"Ooooo.... nice." I grinned looking at the small fly helicopter that Neha managed to fix
"Hey Jia..?" I look towards Maya my classmate
"What?"
"Does does Krishna live in that haunted house up hill?" She asked me with curiosity
"What haunted house..?" I asked back not exactly catching her question
"You know the mansion where they kidnapped and killed small children." She added dumbstruck at my lack of interest in the matter
"It's called the Gray mansion for God's sake and if they kill children. How is Krishna still alive." Neha pointed out not interested in Maya usual nonsense
"Ooo... Neha I'm not talking about now. It's said to have happened centuries back. You know when the Britisher's were still there. That's why they tell that the dead children still haunt the mansion." Maya added in a hushed tone looking around as if someone was hearing into their conversation
"Realy--" I lean in towards Maya even though Neha never believed in any of her gossip. This sounded somewhat believable, after all who knew what happened behind those huge iron gates
"Ow..!" I rub my head turning towards Neha who had knocked me without any provocation.
"What was that for..?" I rub my head checking for possible bleeding
"For giving into her stories---"~~~
There was a quiet a number of people in front of the new NICU clapping hands as a man in his late 60s cut the blue ribbon and went inside along with a small crowd of similarly dressed men in suit and tie. The group consisted of executive board members of the foundation as well as Yadav sir and some other managing executives from the hospital's side and Mr Shekkar Prasad the CEO of the foundation.
"Wow... He looks influential." Roy the new intern in my department commented as Yadav sir proceeded leading the small group explaining and pointing out things
"I heard he's the richest man in Grayson hills." Aisha our other intern added as we started walking back to our lounge
"Really...?" Roy gasped at the new found information
"Should I have asked him for a autograph..?" Roy rubbed his head looking conflicted
"Stop spouting nonsense and concentrate Dr sir." Dr Sam caught hold of his head shaking it thoroughly. Making all of us laugh
"Ys sir." Roy answered not meeting his gaze
"You both come with me." Sam sir called gaining speed as he went straight to the ward for rounds with 2 interns half jogging behind him
"I hope he doesn't scare them to death." Thushara ma'am chuckled beside me looking at the scene infront of us
"I don't think Sam sir is that scary." I shrug my shoulder
"Ooh.. Really..? Then who do you think is scary out of all of us?" Thushara ma'am asked opening the door and walking into the lounge
"Hmm....? I don't think any of you are." I admitted after thinking for a moment
"Sagar sir is straight forward, simple as long as you do your work properly he's satisfied. Sam sir is a bit short tampered and foul mouthed but if you over look that he's very skilled and free-spirited. And you I can't find any fault with you other than your too perfect at anything you do to the extent that even an above average person feels like shit in comparison to you." I added with a chuckle
"Ooo.... seems like some one has picked up a few things in few months time." Thushara ma'am patted me on the shoulder
"By the way is it really true?" I ask as ma'am settles down into her seat
"What?" She raises her head meeting my gaze
"About that sir. Is he really the richest person in Grayson..?" I pull out a chair next to her
"Why? You also want to ask for autograph?" Thara ma'am teases as she switchs on her PC
"Ma'am I'm serious." I say pouting
"Ok ok." She gives in while chuckling
"I'm not sure but I have heard he's the richest man in both Grayson and Charagah. And he's the founder of the foundation that funds us."
"Really... wow.." I lean back processing the new piece of information
Is he close with Ambani..? I wondered to my self. Does he own share in Jai industries...?
"He lives in that old colonial mansion up hill." Thushara ma'am added while my thoughts were still occupied with Bill Gates net worth.~~~
