Cerene stepped inside of the trailor. She saw more kids than she was expecting. They were all sitting down at desks. Cerene glanced around to look for a seat. She found one next to girl with short black hair. Cerene walked over to her.
"Hi, excuse me, is anyone sitting here?" Cerene asked shly.
"Hey, nope. Wanna sit?" The girl replied.
"Yes, please. Thank you." Cerene said as she sat down.
"I'm Mila. What's your name?"
"Nice to meet you. I'm Cerene."
"Nice name."
"Thanks, you too."
"Good morning students!" The teacher came in practically singing. "I'm Miss Baylor!"
"Good morning Miss Baylor." The class responded.
"Not to be confused with Mrs. Baylor, my mother. I am in charge of Home Room 12! My Home Room is to always be a safe haven! So, here is like a rest stop between home and school. You can always unload your burdens here. Hopefully, everyone is doing great today! If not, please feel free to talk to me after Home room ends. You will be here from the time you get to school, until 9:30am. Then, you will head to your first class of the day! I will hand out schedules to everyone now. Breakfast will be served every morning starting on Monday.
Now, some of you will be staying with me for your next class of Foreign Studies. Those of you who are, just sit tight in your seat. Many teachers in the building have the same last name, like my mother and I, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen. Right after the numbers there should be the letter of the first name of the teacher. Like for instance, with me, you should have 012K for Kristen and those of you who have my mother will have 006N for Nancy, on your schedule."
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate!" Miss Baylor said, happiness appreant in her tone.
When Miss Baylor handed Mila her schedule, Cerene glanced down and saw her name.
"Mee-ya Koe- Vee Cha?" Cerene tried to pronounce.
"Nice. You're one of the few that can pronounce it."
Once everyone had their schedules, the class asked questions and conversed. A girl who was sitting behind Cerene and Mila could be heard talking about Cerene's bright red hair.
"Look at how red her hair is. Think she dyed it?"
"I dunno, I'll ask. Hey new girl, did you dye your hair?"
"Cerene and Mila didn't hear them because they were engaged in converation.
"Hey, red head!" The girl yelled out.
Everyone got silent and turned towards Cerene.
Cerene looked behind her. "Yes?" She knew she was talking to her. She was always the only one with that hair color.
"Did you dye your hair?"
"No, my hair is alive."
"Not die, dye. Like change your hair color."
"Oh. No, I didn't, sorry." Cerene turned back around and finished talking to Mila.
"She's clearly lying. Either she dyed it or she put her period blood in it as apart of some sacrafice to satan." The girls laughed.
Miss Baylor stepped in front of the girl. "Do we ahve a problem. Miss Jacobs? Because I would hate to have to send you to the office on your first day. If you don't ahve anything nice to say, don't open your mouth." Miss Baylor smiled before turning and walking away. She turned and looked at Cerene. "I love your hair color. It makes you stand out and it's a lovely red." She continued to the front of the classroom.
"So, you new here right?" Said Mila
"Yeah." Cerene said.
"Need help with anything? What classes do you have?" Mila said holding her hand out
Cerene gave Mila her schedule.
"Hey, that's pretty cool. We have the class after next together. Need any help finding your next class?"
"Thank you, but I don't want to burden you." The bell rings and Cerene hops up and heads out.
