Belle was alone. It was the perfect time to go and bother someone. Belle went upstairs and knocked on Cerene's door hoping she was awake.
"Come in." Said Cerene.
Belle slipped a piece of paper underneath the door. It read "X marks the spot, with a list of directions and a map. He went downstairs to wait for her to meet him in the guest room.
"Hello?" Cerene called out. She got out of bed and opened her door. She saw the note sitting on the floor, picked it up, read it and went the guest room. Cerene was livid. She was tired of whatever weird crap was going on with Belle.
"Belle, what the hell is your problem. Are you some creep trying to take advantage of me?!"
"Ew. What the hell are you talking about. I'm just trying to help you figure out who your mother is."
"What? Oh.. That's a relief, I thought you were some perv." Cerene busted out laughing.
"Shhhh. Pipe down, iron lungs. Everyone else is asleep."
"Oh, right. Sorry about that."
"Anyway. It's hard and you might get in trouble. So we will need a shizz ton of practice first."
"Practice?"
"Yeah. You've heard of like demons and witches and crap right?"
"Yeeeaahhh." Cerene wore a look of confusion. She didn't understand how some magical, fake creature was related to her mother.
"Well, they're real." Belle said.
Cerene stared at Belle. She wasn't sure if she should call a hospital, or call her parents because of crazy he seemed. "You sound crazy. Crap, I was trying not to say that out loud. Sorry..."
"No worries. Haha. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm sure you have seen at least one crazy thing in this house. Am I right?"
"Yeah, there's no denying that... But witches? I know demons exist but witches, I can't believe."
"I get that. If you change your mind, you know where my room is, I'll be here for a little while to help my brother and sister in law out. All I ask, is that you think about it"
"Okay. I'll think about it."
Cerene heads out of the room and back to her room. The more she thought about it, the more she got upset. He really sat there and lied to her. And then about her mother at that! She was furious. But the worst part about anger, is that it's really just another emotion being reversed. And then, they started. The tears lined her cheeks as she lay in her bed. She was hurt. She wanted more than anything to meet her mother and figure out why she wasn't loved. That was all she wanted. To be loved and protected. Maybe it just wasn't meant for her. She cried herself to sleep. Before she knew it, she was once again back in her mind. She found herself in a brightly colored room with a singular door in the middle of nothingness. She walked towards it and placed her hand on the door. It was freezing. She looked around at her surroundings but it was still just the bright neon green colored room that she has found herself in. She slowly opened the door and an alarm sounded. She looked around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. She awoke to the sound of the alarm waking her up for school. She groggily sat up, wiping her eyes in the process. She let out a yawn as she stretched out. She dropped back on the bed letting out a sigh.
"What was that dream." She thought. "Where did that door lead? Why was it so cold?" She had all of these thoughts and all of these unanswered questions. She placed her hands on her forehead over her eyes and laid there for a bit. Eventually, she sat up and got ready for school. The next few days went as expected. Cerene and Sharrie had gotten the hang of their classes and memorized their schedules. They had also gotten to know their uncle a little more. They deveopled a routine with house hold chores and for the most part, everything went okay. This particular day after school, Cerene decided to take a nap since she hadn't gotten much sleep the night before.
"Jeez, I'm so tired."
"You could always go and take a nap Rene."
"It might mess up my sleep schedule."
"Belle and I will wake you up, don't worry!"
"Yeah, we'll wake you up Cerene."
" Okay then...I'm going upstairs to take a nap, will you be okay on your own?"
"Yup! Go take a nap." Sharrie smiled.
"Okay, see you guys soon." Cerene said as she headed upstairs. She got to her room put everything down and laid down. She readjusted a few times and eventually, she fell asleep.
"Zenny..... Zenny..... Zenith!"
"Huh?" Cerene looks over her shoulder to find a little boy standing behind her.
"Zenny, did you zone out again?" Nulkiria asked.
"Who?"
"You girl. Are you alright?"
"My name isn't Zenny... Who are you?"
"Zenith, you should continue to get ready, I believe you will be expected soon."
"Get ready? Is something special happening? I'm-"
"Madam, your mother requests your presence." A figure appears behind the pair.
"Mother?... MY mother?" Cerene turns around to face the figure.
"Yes and my brother."
"Hey Divuhbelle, I think Zenith has cold feet."
"Are you teasing her again?" The demon looked over at his sister."
"Whaaaa meeee? Ugh. Why would you ever think such a thing, dear brother?"
"Come on Zenith, my brother and sister are waiting for you."
Cerene didn't know where she was or who these two people were. She stood up and walked past a mirror and she saw herself. She was older. It seemed like she was wearing some sort of wedding dress, her hair pulled back and braided down her back. She was speechless.
"Alright! Let's go!" Nulkiria said nudged Cerene to head out of the room.
"Cerene headed out of the door as Divuhbelle and Nulkiria held her hair and train."
Everything fast forwarded to this big alter. Cerene walked forward and saw figures. She couldn't make out faces. She stood infront of the man that was she was promised to.
"Hey I know everything is about to start, but I'm so excited. You've been my dream ever since we were kids. I really love you." Callux said.
"Zenith, are you okay? You look confused. Don't tell me that you've gotten cold feet."
Cerene looked over to see what seemed like the most beautiful woman in the world, her aura was fantastic. It was loving, soothing, fierce, and purely magic. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before.
"Mom?"
"Yes?" Her voice filled with love."
"Cerene began to cry. She knew that it was Zenith's mother, but she was so happy to be able to feel that, even if it wasn't real. She woke up. Tears streaming down her cheek and onto her pillow. She sat up, dried her eyes and went downstairs.
A few months passed by and Cerene and Sharrie had a doctors appointment. They went in the morning, and ended up staying home for the rest of the day. While Sharrie was in her room watching t.v, Cerene decided to take a look at the necklace that she had found in that weird large body of water during their first night there. The necklace had a silver chain, with a transparent blue crystal on it. She took a closer look at the crystal and rubbed her finger on it. Cerene became entranced in it's shine. She began to give off a faint glow and felt wind beneath her feet. She didn't know it, but everything around her stopped, while the transition was going on. She disappeared, seemingly teleported into the unknown. Everything was black, as if it was a void. She reappeared dropping from what seemed like the ceiling of a castle. Her hood falling on her and preventing her from seeing much of her surroundings.
"Oh my, seems like I have a visitor. Mind telling me who you are, that is... if you want to keep your life." The man pressed a knife into Cerene's back.
