Adler's gold eyes stayed trained on the door, and I felt my heart spike when it started to rattle the bars. I squeezed my eyes shut and wrapped my arms around Camden's waist. Hiding my fast in his stomach.
"Cam...I need you." Adler's growled, and I could feel the tremble go up his body.
"You've got to try harder," The animal howled behind me, and I heard whispers.
"You smell so sweet, your blood tastes so good...come play with me." The last part sounded like a small child.
"What is that Adler?"I felt a tremble go through me, and Hildr started to power up within me. I didn't have to be afraid I wasn't alone. Even if Cam had his head up his own ass I wasn't alone. I didn't have to have him to protect me. I mean it was his job, but at the same time I wasn't unable to protect myself.
