"Sleeping on the job?" Camden's head shot up off the couch and my hand thumped down on the empty space where it had been. I peeled open one eye and Cara stood in front of the fire with her hands on her hips.
"I'm sorry! I don't know what happened...I was awake then—" He got to his feet and my mom looked like she was going to rip him a new one.
"We had a very long day it's okay to rest, how else do you expect us to train? We aren't limitless." She looked down at me and I had yet to uncurl myself from my sleeping position. She gave me a look that was new to me, one of love and pride.
"You're right Harper, tell me what did you two get into today?" I sat up stretching my arms above my head.
"You went to see Lillian I see!" She smiled clapping her hands together. I smiled and the chain was still tucked away.
