Recap
When I asked if I could contact your grandmother or father, she said, "Yes." He wanted to know more. When he asked, all I did was bury my face in the crook of his neck and sigh.
"Please don't leave at all. Please don't abandon me in the same way that my mother did." I muttered something incoherently.
"I'm here," he announced.
We sat there in silence for quite some time. He never tried to push me away; instead, he clung to my leg and cried out. For the first time in my life, I felt secure. I felt safe and secure in his embrace. I then felt him move, and he began to slowly back away from me. The sound of the shower and his footsteps jolted me out of my slumber. When I looked up and saw that he was no longer there, I couldn't help but be sad.
