James and Lusi's past. Third POV.
It didn't seem logical that someone could love so much at such a young age. Forget that love as no age or certain limit but these two seemed to be joined before a type of 'coronation'. What did I mean? Okay, let me explain James and Lusi sat at the swings laughing.
The bodyguards were positioned to seem as if just an ordinary person. James ran off leaving Lusi swinging but she stops suddenly looking for him. After 5 minutes later she burst out into tears of not finding him. She sat on the rough sand and sobbed loudly. Poor kid was only 11 years old. Some of the guards seemed to want to move to her just for comfort but had to remain in their positions.
The nanny was off getting snacks forgotten in the car. The people moved to ignore the rich-poor kid yet others were intimidated due to the family's power. Is this what the name and riches could do? Slowly spoil the meaning of kindness and generosity? Normality.
After 15 minutes James came rushing back rather dirty and hurt but with a wide painful smile, holding two cones of ice cream. When he saw Lusi crying he immediately dropped the ice cream and ran to her. When she saw him she brightened up a bit but the concern was written all over her face as she examined the marks on his face.
She didn't seem to mind them she immediately kissed his cheeks and hugged him. It seemed as if their future was set. The nanny seemed worn and tired when she returned with the picnic bag and blanket. She was alarmed when she saw the bruises on James' face. It seemed as if James was bullied on his way back after buying ice cream out of the sight of the guards but a few kids bullied him. Trying to take what he had but James stuck up for himself just so he could get Lusi the ice cream. Like I said love at a young age like this seemed destined... Or was it...?
Fast forward to 6 years...
Lusi Sat on the swing at night as she sobbed. Wasn't it ironic that she had done this before? Sobbed for a person she loved. Now she sobbed crutching her stomach. The wind was crisp and cold. Not bringing any warmth. Lusi was pale and was hardly covered. Her pale blue fitting dress couldn't hide the secret of her belly. Her pregnant belly sticking out a bit. Wherever was the boy she sobbed for...
I sat by the swings that had bonded me and James when we were ten. Holding my pregnant belly with so much protection yet it was no use. I was barely dressed. I had just escaped the ball. That ball!!!
Rewind to the beginning of the ball.
I was currently seated next to my mom and talking to her best friend Mellon's daughter Kelly. We were both a month pregnant. She with David's kid and I with James obviously unexpected but our moms were thrilled. I was just happy that I and James had grown closer. What I feared though was the fact that he was growing distant lately. He missed our date nights and was busier.
My mom said was because the baby made him gain responsibility. But did that mean also staying away at every chance you got? I got up and decided to look for James since I haven't seen him for almost an hour. Kelly decided to walk with me. Once we searched everywhere in the bottom area we decided upstairs was the way to go.
Once we got to the spare room we heard sounds. I didn't want to intrude but my curiosity got the better of me. I opened the door and there lay James with a naked blonde. My heart dropped and a scream erupted from me. I was enveloped in pain. I pushed Kelly and the guard back and ran out. I pulled off my heels and ran like my life depended on it. My fears pushed me but my fallen faith was enough to motivate me to never stop.
Dirty
Ugly
Never perfect
Pity rich girl
Hoe
He'll never love you
A man can only love with his heart even if intoxicated he will stop his wrongful actions.
All these words played over and over till I fell on my knees. Only noticed that I was on the swing.
Present moment
I was shivering but the anger kept me warm. I was pale but inside I was red.
I was innocent but he tarnished me. I had no money. Nothing.
"Lusi!" I heard my name be shouted.
"Lusi!" I heard voices grew louder.
I turned and found Kelly, mom, dad, James, his parents, and David running after me but I didn't want anybody around me. I turned and ran. I ran to the street with Kelly gaining on me since we had been track sprinters before.
For defense.
But once she reached me a track was hit us and I flew straight into the next shop and Kelly rolled on the street with our screams and the car horns alarming the world of the sudden deaths...
