My heart was pounding violently against my chest as I stared at the open front door of the Matthews' residence. Should I follow him? Should I call the police? Another crash sounded from inside the house, and without a second thought, I scurried into the house with my heart in my throat. The noise was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. So much shouting. And the only voice I could recognize in the craziness was the one that belonged to Jackass. A woman was screaming. More were crying. I didn't have a second to try and figure it out, because I had made it to the heart of the drama. I crinkled my nose at the terrible stench that floated around the room. My eyes landed on Jackass first, who was shouting profanities at the wall.
