Chapter 10 - Vol 1 : Waiting for You ⭐

Faye stopped in front of the Court building to see the documents in her hand, still not believing that she had took her single status off.

Yes.

They have registered their marriage at the Court.

Even though they almost made a big mistake because of the same question Alex threw to them. It made them realized that they need to get to know each other.

Denis exhaled gloomily, "Can I go now?"

Faye glanced at Denis; he didn't look excited about the marriage and he even hold his head in his hands as if he was suffering. She touched Denis's shoulder, "Are you all right?"

Denis did not answer at first, he was still holding his head, before he finally stood straight and nodded, "Can I go now, Fay?"

Denis looked pale, so Faye agreed, maybe he needed some breaks, "Okay," They can take their stuffs later anyway, "want me to give you a ride?"

Denis shook his head and walk away to the bus stop, leaving Faye alone, confused about what just happened.

Faye exhaled and stirred the coffee she ordered in boredom. This is where she spent her wedding celebrations alone in a small cafe near her restaurant, just like a single person in the place that was filled with couples enjoying their dinner.

Faye had already asked for Denis phone number, she also sent a message asking Denis to contact her if he was ready to move, but until the night passed, there was no sign of a reply from Denis and it made her worry if something had happened.

Out of sudden, Faye's phone lit up, and she immediately checked it, hoping that it was from Denis. But sadly, it was only from Claudia who was annoyed at the fact that Faye and Denis left the party without telling her.

Faye put down her phone again. She was disappointed.

Why did Faye turn into a heartbroken woman like this?

Faye looked down.

She should have invited Mia to eat with her and celebrate the first day of her official marriage, it would have been more fun. Unfortunately, when she got back, Mia seemed to be busy talking to her co-worker in the kitchen, so she decided not to disturb her.

Again, Faye's phone lit up and she checked it half heartedly. She raised her eyebrows when she saw a message from an unknown number. Then she opened the message, she was shocked to see that it was the message from the person she has been waiting for since this afternoon up to this second.

From: + 1xxxxx

Honey, where are you? I'm waiting in front of your restaurant.

Save my number okay?

Your honey, Denis~

Normally Faye would roll her eyes when Denis teased her, but because she has been worrying about Denis all day, her heart blossomed after reading the message from Denis which make it sounded like Denis was whispering in her ear.

Faye quickly type for a reply, thankfully she was choosing to eat in a café not far from her restaurant, so she Denis could quickly catch up and they could have dinner together.

To : Denis

I'm at the cafe across from my restaurant, come over, I'll be waiting outside.

Faye sent it and after getting a message saying that Denis is coming, she went to the cashier to pay for the food and then she came out to wait for Denis.

The night was busy as usual, so Faye couldn't see Denis on the opposite side, the street lights was showing the red light too.

Faye looked up for a place that will make Denis find her, she looked for a place that was less crowded away from the people who were waiting for the green light. She wasn't sure if Denis could find her when she was wearing a mask and a cap, "Hm ..." she decided to test Denis by not telling him that her current location had moved two blocks from the Café she was in.

Finally the wait has ended, the green light flashed and people started to walk, crossing the sidewalk.

Faye looked for Denis among the crowd but she couldn't find him because of the tight crowd of people crossing the street. It was only after people started scattering across the street and Faye could spot Denis who looked fresh not pale like when they met this morning.

Faye chuckled as she saw Denis glanced inside the café. He was looking for her in confusion. She immediately looked down when Denis glanced at her direction. She even took her phone out and checked her social media so that Denis wouldn't recognize her.

"You're not good at hiding, honey~" Denis's teasing voice sounded so close.

Faye stopped playing on her phone and she was right. Denis was standing in front of her with his warm smile, "You are just good at finding me."

"Finding you is easy," said Denis, "how could I forget your beautiful curves, honey~"

Faye coughed at that, shocked at what Denis said.

Denis found Faye from her curves!?

Faye admitted that she is wearing tight clothes today, the coat that she usually wears has been put into her bag so she won't look like an office worker, and moreover she was eating on her rival café so she had to disguise herself so that people won't misunderstand her presence.

Denis laughed, "Do you want to go to my apartment?"

Faye immediately put her five stars defense when she heard that, "Wait! I asked you here not to have fun."

Denis grinned faintly at what Faye said, which gave him the idea, "To my apartment just to pack my stuffs, honey~" he said teasingly, "you think too far of what I said, although I am fine with that," he ended his sentence with a mischievous wink.

Faye rolled her eyes.

It's positive. Denis has back to his usual self, and Faye herself is happy about it.

"So, how? Do you want to?" Denis asked again.

Faye nodded, of course she was willing to help Denis pack his stuffs so she could observes whether Denis might bring something strange to her house or not.

Moreover, if it's involved things like condoms. That's not going to happen.

Faye glanced at the old building in front of him, Denis said this is where he lived since he moved to America. She thought that his apartment would be good considering that Denis work as Sugar Baby, turned out that her thought was totally wrong, his place is more modest than Denis himself.

Faye followed Denis from behind while holding on the red jacket that the man was wearing, afraid if someone might have bad intention on her.

Denis laughed, "Don't worry. This place is quite old, but the people here are really nice, Fay, we like to have barbecues together on the roof and we even share our food."

Faye was flattered to hear that, she can trust Denis words because every time someone passes by they will greet Denis warmly and occasionally they will offer Denis to try their food because they thought of Denis as their unofficial Chef.

Denis accepted their offers, he only tried a little just to taste the food along with Faye as well because he introduced her as his wife. He criticized and praised them carefully because he didn't want to hurt their feelings, and Faye admitted that Denis behavior deserves thumbs up, because he really appreciated every dish.

Denis stopped at the door and looked at Faye shyly, "I wanted to warn you that my apartment won't be as tidy as you think, Fay."

Faye shook her head. It's normal, sometimes her room would be messy because of so much work that took all of her time so she didn't have chance to clean it up.

"I hope he is outside," Denis wishper yet Faye heard that.

"Who?" said Faye curiously.

Denis opened the door and invited Faye to come in first, "I don't live alone here, I live with my college friends," he explained as he closed the door then glanced around to look for his friends, "I think he's gone."

"Let me guess, he is a Sugar Baby too?"

Denis nodded, "He said that he wanted to meet his Sugar Mama tonight and he wouldn't be home until tomorrow, you know what he meant, right~?" he blinked seductively.

Faye put her hand under her chin.

Which means she didn't get much questions from Denis's friend?

Faye nodded and looked around the room. She wondered about the fact that the room was actually much tidier than she imagined, "We can clean this up," she said, "seems like you have packed," she continued seeing several cartoon boxes stacking near the entrance.

Denis nodded, "Sorry, I couldn't pack as much, I have something to think about earlier."

Faye immediately remembered what happened this afternoon, feeling sorry, she caressed Denis's cheek softly "Are you okay?"

Denis nodded, "Everything is fine."

Faye sat on the floor and started tidying up Denis's belongings, but before she could put the book into the box, Denis hugged her from behind, "Hey."
