Aelise wiped her tears off. However, she couldn't stop crying. She tensed at his words. 'You were my world. You still are.' Those words had hit her harder than a truck. Did that mean that Zen hadn't moved on yet either? But why? She thought he was together with Zara. Bringing herself together, she spoke and smiled. "I'm glad you know that you are. I'm still sorry."
Her eyes widened. Her thoughts of a mere second ago were accurate after all. It had been five long years but he still hadn't move on. During those years, she thought he was happy with Zara and his life. But it turns out that he's still clinging onto the past. However, it's not like he's the only one feeling that way.
"B-but why?" Aelise shivered when she felt his touch, but she didn't mind. She missed him. Severely. She just doesn't want to admit it in front of the male himself.
"Why? Hmm. I don't know. I haven't been able to grow such feelings for anyone else. I've tried but it didn't work so I just gave up. Let me drop you home." He shrugged and looked at her.
Aelise felt herself getting lifted up. If it weren't for the cold and alcohol then he would think she's blushing for the action. She shook the thoughts off. "That's a bad idea, you know." She sighed and continued. "With the fame you have right now, don't you have paparazzis?" She questioned. Ah, those kind of people. She disliked them a lot. She wants her life to be drama-free if possible, but they might get in her way. Same for Zen, she didn't want to ruin his reputation in public because of herself.
"Also, my brothers would freak out if they find out I'm with you. Mom and dad would do fine since I lied to them that we broke up because I was tired of our relationship." She explained. "After all, they love you a lot. I don't want them to hate you too. And how'd you know that i have a boyfriend. Ugh, nevermind. Just don't mind about him. He's fucked a lot of girls anyway." Aelise finished, the last line spoken quiet.
Zen would never go anywhere without his bike. He needed it so much just to get away. From everything. "I just figured that you've moved on. At least to try and forget me." He said and looked up at the beautiful night sky. "Guess I was right. You should've left him if you knew he was cheating on you. Why would you stay with him?" He asked as he followed her gaze and looked down at his bleeding leg.
She then glanced at his leg- no, correction, BLEEDING leg. She stared at it and soon after worry consumed her well being. So she asked. "Why the fuck is your leg bleeding? What in the hell happened?"
"Just some accident so don't worry. It doesn't hurt." He smiled. Aelise groaned and smacked his head, scowling. "How can you say that so casually?" She rolled her eyes and shrugged. "What do you mean it doesn't hurt? Idiot. You'll lose blood. I mean, you already are." She huffed and crossed her arms, as if she was a strict Asian parent. Not really surprising. She's always been like this. She waved her hand at him. "Don't mind my 'boyfriend', he won't hurt you." But he would hurt her.
"G-Geez." Zen pouted as he brought his hand up to his head. "I'll of course get that checked out. Mom always does it. She worries way too much." He smiled. Nate's mom was in fact always caring. She always made sure that Zen wasn't dying or injured too bad. She would make sure that he ate and was living fine. She considered Zen as her son too now because she couldn't bare to see how his parents ignored him.
Aelise heard his phone ring and decided to give him some space. Zen smiled sheepishly and answered his phone when it rang."You're alive?!" It was Nate. "Yeah. Unfortunately. What's up?" He asked as he pulled his mask down. "You have your bike? Why did you just get out of the car like that?" Nate asked and Zen looked at Aelise. "Give me just a moment please." He told Aelise and walked a little away from her after seeing her nod.
"Because I felt like someone was choking me in there. It was so suffocating that I couldn't breathe. I'll be back so don't worry and tell your mom too. She worries too much." He smiled. "Your dad wants you back at the company. He said some international clients have some meetings. You'll need to go there. I'll meet you there." Nate informed. "Again?" Zen whispered. "Okay. Yeah. I'll come by." He said and hung up, going back to her. "So. Let's go? It's really cold outside." Thanks to her incredible hearing, Aelise found out that he was going to attend some errands or something like that.
Aelise shook her head in disapproval. "I won't let you take me home." She stated sternly. "You're busy after all. And do I look drunk to you? No. Even after drinking around thirty bottles, I'm still fucking sober and strong. Don't underestimate me because I'm a woman." Once again, she crossed her arms. "And get your leg treated. Blood makes me nervous, remember?" With that, she walked away but eventually stumbled. She cursed at herself. She whirled around to face him and cleared her throat. "That was nothing."
"Y-Yeah. Sorry." He spoke as he put his injured leg behind the other. He watched as the girl walked away and stumbled. "I didn't underestimate you. If I drink, I'll be like this too." He spoke as he looked at her. "Go ahead then." He sighed. He didn't think she'd let him come along so he could just follow her. That would be borderline creepy but at this point he had no choice.
'Be there in a few minutes. Something came up.' He texted Nate quickly who groaned and plopped down onto the chair. "Do whatever you want as long as you're alive." He mumbled to himself. Zen looked at Aelise and smiled. "It was nice meeting you after so long. 5 years." He smiled.
"5 years of torture and here we are." He whispered to himself as he shook his head. "Go on. Go ahead. Be careful and safe though. I know you're strong and all but yeah." He spoke. 'I'm worried.' He couldn't voice that out.
Aelise stuck her tongue at him, all the while walking away. She saw him say something but she just shrugged it off. With her not being cautious of her surroundings, she stumbled once again. However, the situation was different. She was worried about the new white waistless dress her mother gave her, which was her current wear right now. But the more concerning thing was-
Her knees hurt, unlike before and she felt something wet. She examined it and tensed in horror. She tried to wipe it off but it wouldn't stop. And before she knew it, she was panicking ad crying at the same time.
"Well shit-" She cursed at herself and looked behind. "What the hell? He's still here. H-He's still-" Then she heard her phone ring. Curious to see who had called, she looked at the caller ID and her eyes widened. She hesitated for a bit but eventually answered the call, still on the ground.
"Ace? Hey." Aelise said in a casual and cheerful tone so as to not let him find out that she's been drinking her ass off again. She waited long before he answered. She could hear a dog barking in the background, but she didn't give a hell about it. It might just be Burger, his dog. But she doubted it was Burger, it sounded different. But the again, she still didn't care. "Yo." Ace's voice sent chills down her spine. She bit her lips and and gulped before speaking. "What made you call me at an hour like this?" She earned a chuckle from him. 'That was a perfectly normal question. Or am I too drunk to even notice that?'
"Where are you?" Aelise tensed at the question but she answered almost immediately. "At home of course. Where else?" She sighed. "But you're not here." He spoke. "What?" Aelise asked, her eyes widening. Ace repeated his words but in a much more threatening way. "But. You're. Not. Here." Her eyes widened more than they already were, if that was even possible. It can't be. Did he follow her here? Was he at her house? Just thinking about it sent a shiver down her spine. A tear fell. "Ace-" She tried to talk but he cut her off. "You have the guts to lie to me, huh?" She shook her head, even though he couldn't see and apologized. "I'm sorry."
Zen watched as the girl fell and spoke on her phone. He rushed to her. "You-" He stopped himself as he saw her crying. 'God, how much is he hurting you?' He thought to himself as he sighed and hugged her. 'I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I wanted to hug you so bad. Kill me for this, God but I'm sorry.' He couldn't say all that because he felt like her boyfriend was on the other side.
He didn't say anything as he placed a hand under knees and one on her back and picked her up. "Don't worry." He mouthed as he gently held her and took her to his bike, making her sit on it. He didn't interrupt her conversation with her boyfriend as he immediately called over one of his bodyguards with a car. He waited and when they arrived, he rushed to the car and got a med kit.
He kept quiet as he took some cotton and gently cleaned her wound, blowing on it so that it wouldn't be as painful or stingy. "Sir-" He heard his bodyguard and immediately shushed him. He pulled his phone out and looked at them, typing out something. 'Leave. Tell dad I'll be there in some time.' The text read and the bodyguard nodded, before bowing to the two and leaving.
Zen sighed but kept it low as he went back to disinfecting the wound. He placed a piece of cotton on it and taped it up and smiled, giving her a thumbs up. 'If only i could take you back. I'm sorry.'
