"Friends. We're friends, okay? Let's leave it at that. I love my friend who has a boyfriend. Yeah, makes amazing sense. Just like life." Zen looked out the window. "You still have all her pictures?" Nate asked. "As creepy as this may sound, yes, I do. All of them. Every single one of them." Zen smiled at the memories and answered his phone when it rang. It was an unknown number.
"Zen~" He heard and immediately handed the phone to Nate. "Come on~ I want you to fuck me like back then again. Oh the drugs worked so well. You know it already. Let's meet up, baby." Nate heard and almost gagged physically. Zen smirked as he took the phone. "The caller you're trying to connect to is busy searching for fuck to give. Please hold on while he completes the process or leave a voice message after the beep." He spoke in a monotonous voice and hung up. "God, she's always so fucking horny." He shivered.
"And she told me that I'm not worthy of a girlfriend. Ah, she has 5 boyfriends. Poor guys. She calls me again and I'm exposing her ass to every single one of them." He sighed as they got to the company. "Did you sleep yesterday?" Nate asked and Zen shook his head. "Sleep? Who that?" He chuckled. 'Can't things go back to what they were? I want you back, Aelise.' He thought to himself.
On the other side of the world, the room was enveloped with silence. Uncomfortable silence. Only one step away from the area and one could already feel the terrifying aura. It was so silent that one could literally hear someone's heartbeat.
"Ah, so boring." A deep, yet soft voice spoke, gathering everyone's attention in the room. It belonged to a male around his twenties. He had down-turned lips, piercing mono-lid blue eyes, accompanied by messy, dyed white hair. His eyes were focused on the screen, presenting a picture of a particular female- "Is that your girlfriend?" One of his best friends asked, scooting closer to him as he looked at the photo. When he got a better look of it, he immediately smirked to himself.
"Hm? Yeah. She is. Isn't she lovely, Ren? She's currently in her home country right now. Now I miss her." He responded. However, his arctic blue eyes were still focused on the screen, scrolling through the pictures. He smiled to himself. He loved her a lot but she kept on holding onto the past. And he held a never ending grudge upon that. And there's also the fact that she's using him to move on and she doesn't love him at all. He received a "Yes." from the guy who was asked the question, Ren.
"Isn't that Aelise? Woah, she looks-.. you know." Another one of his best friends spoke, Clint. His lips curled up into a creepy grin. Others won't see it as creepy though, considering how attractive the man was. "Mhmm. I genuinely love her but she hasn't moved on from her previous boyfriend who cheated on her. Not yet anyway." He emphasized the latter, receiving fits of laughter. "That's sad, Ace. Must've been a hard pill to swallow, was it not?" Ace rolled his eyes upon hearing that.
"You're so lucky to have a girlfriend who's as hot as her." Clint commented. Ace hummed in response to that, twirling his hair in his finger. "Well, if you two want her that bad, then alright. Let's enjoy her together when we'll arrive there, only if you help me out in my plan." He smirked, and the two nodded eagerly.
Not long after, Ace's phone rang, he looked at the caller ID. He smirked immediately and answered. "Yes, Emma?"
"EMMAAAAAA." Aelise said in a whiny voice over the phone. She had literally been laying on her bed for who knows how long, just doing nothing. Her best friend cringed. Emma thought her ear drums would explode any second now. She sighed and declined her invite. "I'm so sorry, Aelise. I'm busy right now." The duo-color haired girl cried mentally but told her it was understandable and decided to go out all by herself instead.
This time, she swore that she wouldn't drink.
Yes, she swore.
She changed herself into a pair of high-waisted jeans so that she could hide the bruises on her knees. They looked terrible. "I could've let him take me home." She grumbled under her breath like a four year old child. Just awhile ago, she had been hesitant to send the text to Zen, her thank you. And now, she still hadn't sent it. She fished her phone out of her pocket and read the text over and over again:
'Hey, it's me, Aelise. (•̀ᴗ•́)و Just wanted to thank you for helping me out when i was drunk. Actually, I can't explain how thankful I am. Also, I'm so sorry. For everything, really. Anyway, are you free today to like... you know, hang out?('༎ຶٹ༎ຶ')'
'This is is so cringy. I should just delete it.' And just as she was about to delete the text, her brother snatched the phone out of her hand and clicked the send button. "WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK OF FUCKERY DID YOU JUST DO." She screamed and smacked his head, immediately sending another text.
'WAIT ACTUALLY NEVER MIND ABOUT THE LAST ONE I'M BUSY. :0 SORRY HEHEHEHE.'
Zen heard his phone go off and pulled it out. He opened the chat and saw it was some unknown number. He didn't have her current number. He raised a brow as he opened the chat. "Am I free to hang out?" He asked himself when he realized. He almost dropped his phone. "Holy fuck!!!" He exclaimed as he rubbed his eyes and read the text over and over again. He smiled like an idiot as he showed the text to Nate. "Nate!! Buddy look!! She texted!" He spoke as he shook the boy's shoulders.
"Yes, I can see that. And she also said that she's busy." Nate spoke. "Ahh I don't care. Call me a 16 year old teenage girl who just got a text from her crush but holy shit!." Zen laughed at himself as he got out of the car when they reached the company. It was scary how fast his personality switched into a professional and cold one. He still had his phone in his hand. 'Well, I'm still free if you change your mind. And there's no need to thank me. I was just doing my job as a citizen XP. Hoping to see you some time today.' He sent the text to her and smiled at himself before putting his phone into his pocket.
"Stay calm." Nate simply told him which confused him but he took his warning. "Ah, Mr. Zen. Wonderful meeting you." He heard and looked up to see the CEO of his competitor company, Mr. Min. He gave him a smile as he walked to the man and shook his hand. "Pleasure's all mine." Zen spoke with a fake smile but Mr. Min would have been used to that so he didn't comment on it. "Me and your dad were having a very friendly chat." Mr. Min spoke as he wrapped an arm around Zen's shoulder. He looked at Nate and smiled. "Please excuse us. Don't worry, I won't kill him." Mr. Min said and laughed like a maniac as he gently lead Zen into the elevator.
"You know, for your face and status, your relationship status doesn't really do it justice." Mr. Min spoke as he leaned against the elevator walls, pressing the button to the rooftop. "Well, what can I say? I don't think I'm privileged enough to get a decent girlfriend." Zen played along. There was always this eerie coldness covered by fake laughter whenever he spoke to people he didn't care about. "Oh that's certainly not the case." Mr. Min waved his hand in front of his face.
"That's life, Sir." That sent Mr. Min into laughing fits. "Oh no no. I showed some of your modelling pictures to my daughter and she immediately said that she was ready to sacrifice her life for you. Call her cliché but she has fallen for you, Mr. Shima." He spoke, using Zen's family name which the boy had started to hate now. "That's unfortunate, I do have someone in mind whom I like." Zen spoke and the man rolled his eyes as they got out and walked onto the rooftop.
"Really? Who might that lucky girl be?" Mr. Min asked with a bitter smile. "Someone you have no idea of and don't need to know, Mr. Min. Don't worry. I guess the conversation we were supposed to have has already ended?" Zen asked as he slid his hands into his pockets. "Mr. Shima. I was serious. It isn't a little crush we're talking about. Me and your father have spoken about this matter and have decided that this is also the most favorable for both the companies. They are at the top and its certainly the best business move." He said and now it was Zen's turn to laugh.
"Of course but only if the world worked that way, Mr. Min. I get to decide who I marry. It's either that or one fine night, I will give your daughter some coffee with poison and kill her. Two very reliable options for me. It would be nice if you took the initiative from your side though, wouldn't you agree?" He asked and looked at Mr. Min's angry face as he charged at the boy who immediately stopped him.
"Don't fucking start with me."
