"Mr. Reynolds, you may take your leave", Mr. Charles interrupted the conversation between the two boys.
Rex rose to his feet and walked towards the exit of the class while his classmates gave him the usual stare, but for the first time in all his years at the school, Rex glanced in their direction and gave a subtle smile just before exiting the class.
Mr. Charles grinned at the visible confusion the class was enduring, due to Rex's sudden good mood.
"Mr. Johnson, since you are new to my class, I hope you will do well to catch up with everything I have taught in this class",Mr. Charles said.
"Yes sir", Jonathan replied.
"Now that everything has been settled, everyone except Mr. Johnson can continue the test", Mr. Charles said.
while his classmates continued the test, Rex made his way to alchemy class.
"They will not be done for a while and Mr. Charles always explains the solutions to the questions before the class ends, that leaves a lot of time to sneak into the cafeteria and grab a bite." Rex thought to himself.
He took a right turn and made his way to the cafeteria, "Gauntlet, activate skeleton key." Rex commanded, *skeleton key activated* "no noise! no noise!, i mean, go into quiet mode." He commanded frantically.
Rex placed his hand on the activation pad and the door opened, he looked around to make sure he was alone, then he walked casually to the kitchen.
Rex placed his ear on the kitchen door and listened for signs of life, and sure enough there were sounds of people moving around quickly, "hurry up people!, we have a lot of mouths to feed and little time to work. " came a woman's voice, "Yes Madam!", her subordinates replied.
"Time to get to work myself," Rex said as he focused on spreading his mana all over his body until it became like a layer of thick skin covering him completely, /chrono stasis/, Rex whispers.
He then proceeds to casually walk into the kitchen, he sees all the kitchen staff at work but none of them noticed him, they did not even move. They just stood there as he walked past them and picked up a bowl of lobster thermidor.
Madame Natalie returned to the kitchen to pick up the principal's meal but to her surprise there was nothing on the table, "Who moved the lobster thermidor I put on the center table?" she asked.
Rex walked out of the male's room and let out a burp of satisfaction and then made his way to the alchemy class, he met his class mates who were en route to the alchemy class.
"what took you guys so long huh?, are you all that bad at math?, I could give you lessons. "Rex teased.
They all ignored him.
Rex spotted Jonathan and caught up to him, "Hey Johnny, I was just wondering, why did you stay in the class when you did not take part in the test? " Rex asked.
"Where did you come from?, I thought you were already in the alchemy class, and please do not call me Johnny.", Jonathan said.
"It gets boring when you sit in class by yourself, so I took a long walk and I like the sound of Johnny so, I don't think I will stop anytime soon." Rex said.
"That is not really an answer but I will ignore it, however I will not respond to Johnny" Jonathan said.
Rex suddenly came to a halt and grabbed onto Jonathan's shoulder, a shocked expression on his face.
"Are you alright?" Jonathan asked, with a bit of worry.
"You are right, Johnny is not a good fit for you, your name is Jonathan Johnson right?," Rex said.
"Yes?" Jonathan said with increasing worry.
"Then I will call you..... JOJO!" Rex exclaimed.
"oh you can't be serious, you performed all that drama just to say that?" Jonathan said.
"I can not believe you had me worried, do you take anything serious?" Jonathan said.
"OK, OK, you don't have to get upset about it" Rex said.
At that moment they had reached the class and everyone began taking their seats.
"come on, you are with me." Rex said while leading Jonathan to a couple of seats in a corner at the back of the class.
Jonathan cringes with disgust after realizing what Rex was up to.
"Rex, we are the only nobles in the class, we can not lower ourselves to their level. I will take the front seat." Jonathan said.
"So, you want to make it easier for them to hit you with spells?" Rex asked.
"What?" Jonathan said with a confused expression.
"Did you forget what i said about them?" Rex asked.
"I thought you were talking about silly pranks, not murder!." Jonathan exclaimed.
"Look around." Rex said.
Jonathan looked around and saw the looks of hate on the faces of his classmates.
"Do they look like silly pranksters to you?" Rex said.
Jonathan's face went pale, "Hey, hey,... you are joking....right?" Jonathan mumbled.
"Relax, as long as you stick with me and stay close to teachers, you will be alright." Rex assured.
"So what?, you are my guardian now?" Jonathan asked?
"Even better, we are friends" Rex said with a wide smile.
