Chereads / Little Sparrow / Chapter 8 - Let's Play a Little Game

Chapter 8 - Let's Play a Little Game

The girls and I take showers and look for outfits to wear.

"Bitch, you look hot," Sky says.

"It's nothing compared to what your wearing. I love your outfit," I tell Sky.

"I'm gonna take a picture and post it on my insta."

"God, your embarrassing me," I say to Sky. She took a quick pic of me in my simple dress. It hugged my curves and stopped above my knees. The sleeves fell off my shoulders, but didn't look too fancy for a party.

"Oh my god, she's blushing," Lily says, pointing at me.

"Ok, let's just finish getting ready and go," I say, going to the bathroom to fix my hair.

"SPENCER," I hear Nick call my name from downstairs. The girls and I were done getting ready, so we went downstairs.

My brother looked shock to see other people in the house and all dressed up nonetheless. I saw him eying Sky, but I snapped my fingers in front of his face.

"Eyes off my friend. She's off limits." Nick just rolls his eyes.

"You dated my best friend," he challenged me.

"Yeah and you see how that turned out. This time we're actually going to listen to the rules."

"Where are you guys going anyways?"

"To a party. Your sister just made the cheer team. We're celebrating," Lily chimes in. My brother gave me a weird look.

"The cheer team, Spence? Really?" My brother knew me so well. He knows I wasn't the type to join the cheer team. I only really tried out to get back at Hope.

"You have a problem with girls who do cheer?" Lily was doing all the talking. I could tell she was trying to be seductive, but I didn't say anything because my brother didn't pay any attention to her advances. Sky seemed too shy to speak.

"We're gonna just go. I'll probably sleep over at Lily's house, but I'll let you know if it gets late." Nick agrees and allows us to leave.

We all get in Lily's car. Supposedly, she's the neighbor of the person throwing the party, so she's going to park her car at home and walk next door. If we get drunk, then we can stay at her house instead of driving recklessly.

"So, who's party is this," I ask.

"This is Gasper's party," Sky says. A tent of red grew on her cheeks.

"Are you blushing," Lily asks her.

"NO," Sky answers her fast, but we know she's lying because her blush grows deeper.

"Awwww, your in love with Lily's neighbor," I tease her.

"Stop it," Sky groans out.

"We're totally getting you drunk, so you can spill your guts to him," Lily says.

"Don't let her do it," Sky begs me.

"I'll try my best, but I might be too drunk to stop her," I say laughing.

We enter the party and I get some looks, some smirks, and some glares. We walk towards the kitchen, Lily and Sky in front of me, when some guy comes up behind me.

"Hey baby," he says into my ear and grabs my ass, me letting out a gasp, but before I can do anything, someone pushes him off me.

When I look up I see Chester glaring at the guy. The guy runs away.

"Thank you, Edward Cullens" I tell him and start to walk away, to catch up to the girls.

"Don't you think I deserve a kiss, Bella whatever her last name was" he says, puckering his lips.

"You watched Twilight," I ask him, laughing.

"I'm not ashamed. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys watched it. Girls like guys who know their movies and their infatuated with Twilight, no matter how cringe the movie is. So, do I get a kiss?"

"No, asshole," I say and walk away.

"Hey, where did you go," Sky asks.

"I need a drink," I say with a heavy sigh.

"Well, your in luck," Lily says, coming to the counter with shot glasses and some type of pink substance.

"Let's take some shots and hit the dance floor," Sky says, pouring the drinks into the shot glasses.

Three shots later and I already feel lighter. Sky pulls us onto the dance floor and I see Alexandra. She joins us, already looking a little drunk. We just have a good time dancing and we snap some pics.

A little while later we get tired and go to sit on the couches. There were already other people there. Daniel, Parker, Max, Chester, Alexander, and some other guy. Sky tells me that the guy is Gasper, the one throwing the party. He has dyed platinum hair and white eye contacts.

They would look perfect together.

"Hey, Spencer. We're about to play a game of beer pong. You wanna be my partner," Parker asks.

"Yeah, sure, but I should warn the other team. I'm beer pong royalty," I said smiling. That was true before my life of being bullied. I might actually be a little rusty. I hear a laugh come from Chester and I turn to look at him.

"No your not. I am and trust me, you'll be the one getting drunk," he says.

"We'll see about that," I say smirking.

Three games later and Chester could barely throw the balls straight. Chester was paired up with Alexander, but he drunk the most. I couldn't stop laughing.

"I'm going to get some water. I should be fine after I sober up a little," Chester says. I turn to Parker and he gives me a high five.

After Chester got back, looking better, Daniel announced that we were playing a new game. We were all sat in a circle with an empty beer bottle in the middle.

I already smell trouble.

"Ok, so you guys can already guess what game this is. Spin the bottle. You guys all know the rules, but if not, I'll explain. Someone spins the bottle and whoever it lands on, they kiss. Simple as that," Daniel explains.

As the game goes on, I lost count of how many sloppy kisses there were. Alexandra wasn't playing because it would be weird if she landed on her brother.

I didn't really care to play the game, I was just hoping that it would never land on me, but obviously luck was not on my side.

It was Gasper, Sky's crush, who spun the bottle and landed on me. Now, there were two problems with this. One, the obvious, Sky likes him, and two, I'm not fond of sharing spit with someone who just had their tongue down someone else's throat. Imagine the amount of germs.

"You guys can just skip me, I'm not playing," I tell them, taking a swig of my drink.

"Oh come on, loosen up," Daniel says.

"Nah, I'm good."

"What are you? A virgin? A kiss is not that big of a deal," Daniel says, still pushing.

"No, asshole. I'm far from it. Even though it's none of your goddamn business, but I like proving people like you wrong. Now you can skip me and go on with your game."

Everyone looked shock at what I just said.

Was it the fact that I stood up against Daniel or the whole 'me not being a virgin' part?

But either way, Jasper spun the bottle again and this time it landed on Lily.

I saw Sky eye Lily from the side, but Lily didn't notice because she was going closer to Jasper.

Lily looked a little out of it with all the drinks she's had, but I would think she'd notice that she's about to kiss her best friend's crush.

Wait, she wasn't about to. She already was.

They were in a heated make out session, but all I could notice was Sky's hurt expression. She looked like she was about to cry.

I think after a couple of seconds, Lily noticed what she was doing and abruptly pulled her lips off of Gasper's, but she was too late.

Sky got off of the floor and started walking away from the circle.

"Wait, Sky," Lily says, trying to stop Sky from walking away, but she doesn't.

I get off the floor to follow Sky. It was never good to let someone walk away sad or angry because you never know what type of mindset they were in.

I finally caught up with Sky. She stopped in a hallway where no one could see her and started to cry.

"Shit, Sky. It's alright. It's alright," I whisper to her in her ear as I pull her into a hug. She was sobbing into my shoulder.

"Why would she do that? I told her I liked him."

"Maybe it was all the drinks. I don't think she was thinking straight," I try to tell Sky.

I feel the presence of someone coming into the hall behind me. I turn around and see Lily.

I pull away from Sky and Lily asks her if they can talk. I leave them to talk in private and decide to go home. I didn't know how their talk would end and I was starting to feel light headed with all the alcohol in my system.

I go through the crowded house and exit through the front door.

It was a little breezy outside. It was now almost 3 in the morning and I just wanted to be in my own bed.

I was never really comfortable about sleeping over at other people's house.

My first and only sleepover I ever had, was when I was six years old. I needed to use the bathroom, but I was having fun, so I just ignored it. Bad idea. So, when I tried racing to the bathroom, I ended up peeing on myself.

I called my mom to pick me up when I was in the bathroom. When she told me she was outside, I hurried up and got my stuff and ran out the front door before any of my friends could see me.

When I got in the car, I was crying and my brother was in the backseat comforting me. The best day ever became the worst day ever quick.

"Hey, Spence." I turned around to see Max walking up to me. I was about to dial my brother to pick me up.

"Hey."

"Are you alright," he asks me.

"Yeah I'm good."

"You know, you don't have to lie to me, if you did lie back there. It's nothing to be embarrassed about."

At first I was confused.

Embarrassed about what?

Then I remembered.

"Ohhhh, you think I lied about not being a virgin," I laughed. "What do I have to lie about? I'm probably the most honest person you will ever meet," and I wasn't lying.

"Well, then I believe you. I'm gonna head home now, so I'll see you later," Max says, walking away.

"Wait, could you give me a ride, since we're neighbors and all. Well, unless you've had too many drinks. In that case, I'm not fond of dying and I'll just call my brother to pick me up."

"I don't drink. I can give you a ride home." I look at him surprised.

He doesn't drink? There's nothing wrong with it, but I saw him with a cup in his hands like every couple of minutes.

He just rolls his eyes at the expression I gave him and walks to what I guess is his car. I run to catch up to him.
