It had been over three weeks since they had flown into Little rock, Everyone was either tired of each other and people were going to need some space for at least a week once they got home from this last flight. Jack and Viper had already made arrangements to have Robin and Caroline stay over at each others houses throughout the next week so the Parents could get half of a break.
Instead of flying this time, they were driving back, Caroline,Robin,Jack,Jessica, and Arturo had been assigned to sit in one car. Robin was reading ,Caroline was drawing, Arturo was asleep, Jack was giving Jessica directions and obviously Jessica was driving. It was nice and calm, everyone was rather worn out from each other, "Hey Robin!..Hey Robin!..Robin!" Caroline pestered.
" Say my name again, I dare you.."Robin growled,
Caroline had a smug grin on her face, " Hey Robin.".
Robin hit Caroline with the book she was reading after she made note of the page, "Ow! What was that for?" Caroline gasped,
"Oh, come on I tapped you!" Robin chuckled.
" You legit just hit me in the face with a book, that wasn't a tap." Caroline sighed, not Amused.
" Will you two stop it!?" Jack sighed looking from the passengers seat.
Meanwhile in the other cars:
Gray,Sarah,Amelia, George, and Eli had been arguing if they should pass Jessica or not since she was going too slow ,when all of a sudden, the truck beside them had something thrown out of it and it hit Amelia on the eye and fell into the car. it was presumed to be a piece of wood at first, but when Gray found it, it was not. It was a hash-brown, the breakfast food of all things.
Amelia then pulled over to let her eye have a moment to open back up again, " So what hit me?" Amelia chuckled.
" A Hash-brown...." George muttered as he attempted not to die laughing,
" There is no way in hell that , that hit me." Amelia , whom though George was joking , giggled.
" It really is one, Amelia." Sarah sighed, completely done with the dumb-fuckery that was going on.
" You're joking..." Amelia chuckled
"We're not joking, Amelia." Gray laughed
"Show it then!" Amelia Smiled as she opened her watering eyes.
Gray passed the hash-brown to Eli who showed it to Amelia, " You werent joking..that person has hella good aim." she Smiled.
The group erupted in laughter, this was the first time in weeks, everything had such a stressed feeling to it wondering the main question 'What is left in New Orleans?'. The town was notorious of flooding during hurricanes since the city was below sea level. Flooding in some places was expected and the group was willing to help each other, some people more than others.
After some time, they managed to drive back into New Orleans, as soon as they possibly could, Jack had Jessica drive him to the airport so he could pick up the Cordoba. Thankfully it was unharmed, just a few leaves that somehow managed to get on it.
"Thanks Jess!" He smiled as Robin and Caroline loaded up their luggage and got in the car.
"No problem Jack!" She sighed as she rubbed her eyes and started to drive off.
Jack tiredly walked to his car, seeing his 'niece' and Caroline in the drivers spot and passanger's seat, " Child- if you don't get yourself out of my spot.." He joked as Robin got in the back seats.
He soon called Viper, who was already at her house,
"Hello?" Viper sighed, Her house was unharmed, just a bit of flooding and damaged plants in the backyard.
"Hey, Penny! Are you at your place already?" He asked, getting his car started so they could leave.
"Yeah..are you ready to bring the girls over?" Viper asked as she flipped through the pages of a cosmopolitan magazine.
" Yeah! I just have to run by my place to see what all damage is there."He sighed, driving off, going down to the road and started to drive to his place.
" Alright, well if you need some help, just holler, I'm willing to help you drain some paint bubbles." She smiled on the other side of the phone.
" Alrighty, I'll see you in a bit." He hummed, as he glanced in the mirror, making sure the girls were acting right.
He hung up his flip phone and put it in his pocket, " So I have a feeling we will all sleep well tonight..." He yawned, as the girls sleepily nodded. Caroline was half asleep, as well was Robin, the plan for tonight was to sleep until 9 and probably go sneak out later. Robin knew a kid, who knew a kid, who was friends with a kid that was having a big party once the flooding calmed down.
He sped down the street, only to have the main road blocked. The girls flew into the air as he slammed on his breaks, " Holy Shit! what was that for!" Robin exclaimed
"Watch your fucking language." Jack scolded ,
"Sorry- let me try again...Holy Crap! what was that for!?" Robin asked
"Well genius , there's a road block.. and this is the only way to our houses so..I'm going to ignore it." he sighed.
" Jack, that doesnt sound like a good idea...." Caroline warned, " If they're up they're up for a reason..."
"Caroline, I'll tell ya when I have a bad idea.." Jack smiled as he drove around the blockers and onto the flooded area, since it was later enough, it was hard to tell how much water there was.
Jack put the car into park, and got out, the water manged to go up to a mid-calf point.
He got back in, and tried to start driving again, but the car wouldn't budge.
"Caroline..?" He sighed
"Yes, Jack?" She smirked playfully
"You were right..this was a bad idea.." He admitted, defeated by a '16' year old.
"of course this happened to us.." Robin sighed, getting her flip phone out to call Viper.
"It'll take a miracle to get this thing going..." He sighed as he got out and popped the hood.
after a bit Jack sighed " Caroline can you try turning the car off and on again?" He pleaded
"Sure!" Caroline smiled as she got in the driver's place.
The car turned on, " It'll take a miracle to get this rust bucket moving.." He muttered.
He had her climb back over and into the back as he pressed the gas and the car inched forward.
" Well glory be hallelujah..." He smiled, as he started to speed through the water and back to his small house on the other side of town.
