Meanwhile, Back in New Orleans, Robin and Caroline had finally made it to Jack's house. There was minor water damage but, some things were never going to be the same once the water was gone, like the folded american flag on display in Jack's living room.It had suffered severe damage after getting knocked off the wall while they were gone, " Jack? Who was this for?" Caroline asked while picking up the flag and looking at it.
" He doesn't like to talk about it.." Robin sighed as she looked around and counted the paint bubbles where there were leaks,
" It's fine,Robin, it's just stuff that's hard for me to talk about." Jack sighed with a somber look on his face before explaining.
" Well, Caroline, about 18 years ago both me and my older brother had been drafted to go to war. that flag was my brothers, he didn't make it back, and I wasn't allowed to come home for his funeral so my Mother saved that for me until I was able to come home." He explained, unknowing that his eyes were watering up.
"Jack, are you okay?" Robin asked quietly, as Jack sat on a worn spot on the couch.
" Yeah, I'm fine, I just need a second.." he sighed as he rubbed his eyes, knowing he needed to be strong for Robin and Caroline.
Robin got a bucket and poked a hole in the smaller bubbles to let the paint drain, a knock was at the door, Jack peaked over and saw that Amelia had been sent to get the girls, he answered the door;
" Yes, 'Melia?" Jack sighed, his eyes still watery,
" Jack, I wont pester for you to tell me this if you don't want to, but why are you crying?" She asked softly, brushing her bleach blonde hair away from her face. She knew damn good and well that Jack never cried and if he was: you should either be running or crying with him.
He explained what had happened, knowing that Amelia would understand his reasoning for being upset.
"oh, I'm sorry, I'll take them off your hands now if that's fine." Amelia offered
Jack nodded as the girls put down what they were doing and Caroline ran off to throw an overnight bag together.
She came back five minuets later, with some clothes and all for the next three days in a Walmart sack. " I'm ready!" She smiled before leaving with Amelia.
When they got in the car Amelia did a full 180 and looked at the teens " Robin, I swear to god, if you ever bring up anything that could possibly trigger Jack, I will end you." She threatened, of course she wasnt going to kill her but it got her point across.
" But Mother, I didnt.." Robin Protested as she looked at Caroline,
"Quit lying ya little brat." She growled as she pulled out of the driveway and into the cul-de-sac to make a turn around.
"She's not lying Mrs. Amelia." Caroline piped up
" What?" Amelia sighed, generally confused.
" I was the one who asked him, I had found his brothers flag and asked him who it was used for." She explained,
"Oh, Sorry, Birdie." Amelia sighed as she pulled into the driveway of the expensive cream house, which somehow was still intact from the horrid weather.
" I seriously question how our houses survived the hurricane.." Caroline tiredly chuckled as she yawned and grabbed her bag, and went inside the large cream house with her best friend.
As soon as the girls got in the house, Robin announced " We're going to bed, We're tired as fuck."
" Alright sweetie, I'll see you later." Viper called out from her chair as she flipped through her magazine,
" Your parents let you swear?" Caroline asked quietly as she trotted up the stairs and went to the room the furthest on the left.
"Yeah! they say that ' sometimes swear words are needed' like if you stubbed your toe really hard; you wouldn't just say 'woe is me', you would shout out something worse." Robin explained as she let Caroline in the room.
" That makes so much sense." Caroline joked as she sat down on the light cream bed spread and yawned as she reclined into the soft, fluffy, and warm bedding before dozing off.
" You good Carrie?" Robin yawned as she looked at her friend, already asleep, she decided to join her and Robin fell asleep quickly too.
The two girls woke up around 11 at night, " Hey Tweety?" Caroline Yawned as she saw Robin getting dressed, " Tweety, what the hell are you doing?"
" Remember? The party?" She smiled as she put on a denim cardigan over a black shirt.
" oh yeah... the party, how do you plan on sneaking out?" Caroline sighed as she brushed her messy hair back.
" Through the back fence? there's a huge hole that we can slip out from under the gate so no one knows that we opened it." Robin smiled as she tossed Caroline a Crop top and jean shorts,
" Robin this looks like it wont fit." She sighed as she attempted to get in the shorts , " Nope, my thighs are too big." She chuckled as she threw them back to Robin and just put her overalls on.
" Eh, I have chicken legs, I didnt expect them to fit too well." Robin chuckled,
" I'll also probably not be able to wear that shirt either, I'll stick to this stripe-y one I brought." She smiled as she threw on the shirt on under the overalls.
Caroline and robin decided to do some make-up for the fun of it, Caroline did a nice natural look while Robin did a look of mainly bright colors like Pink,Blue, and Yellow.
" We look good." Caroline smiled as she braided her hair,
" You look good, I look like a baby prostitute." Robin chuckled as she looked at Caroline.
" No you don't!" Caroline gasped, looking back at Robin.
" Caroline Marie Warren, are you even looking at what I'm wearing?" Robing sighed, looking in the mirror, disgusted with her body.
" What your are wearing doesn't make you a bad person, Tweety." Caroline explained as the put on shoes and went downstairs and out the back door, under the gate and into the garage to get Viper's car to drive to the party.
" Can you drive?" Robin sighed as she thought of their options,
" Yeah.." Caroline sighed as they got in the car with the keys and started it, " I feel powerful." she smiled.
