Chapter 4 - Tired and Sore

...

In the blink of an eye, Weasel and I had arrived in front of my complex. Immediately, my hand went straight to my mouth before a surprised expression showed up on my face.

'Ohhh? Did I get used to it already?' I asked in my head while smiling. And with high spirits, I decided to start walking towards where I assume my land lady was.

But as soon as I took my first step, my whole entire body froze as familiar feeling started to bubble up. I immediately began to look around for anything I could hurl in.

Luckily for me, there was a trash can conveniently next to me. Throwing myself on top of it, I let it all out while still feeling the gaze of Weasel.

And with tears and a disgusting feeling in my throat, I calmly took my time to collect myself before slowly pushing myself up. After that action, I was sure I wasn't going to see anymore issues from my body.

Looking towards the completely unfazed Anbu. I blanked out in realization. 'Wasn't Weasel Itachi's Anbu position?'

'So you're telling me I currently have a potential clan butcher next to me? The man who had to get nerfed by a disease because he would ruin the final battle against Madara?'

'Someone who will hold the eye of Shisui, which has one of the most dangerous genjustu. One who will have two different sets of spirits weapons capable of killing someone with an immortal soul.'

Honestly the man is potentially overpowered and had amazing potential. But I'm also confused as why he didn't just warn the Hokage about Danzo and the corruption present inside Konoha.

If he where to do that, the Uchihas hatred as a whole would be directed towards Danzo. And if they had a slight hatred towards Konoha, we could just give them more benefits.

A lot of the crap that happens early on in this series could have easily been solved if these people learned how to speak properly. But I personally don't want to change Shisuis death.

'His eyes makes me afraid.'

Anyway, I just looked back towards Itachi who was just standing there in complete utter silence. Feeling uncomfortable, I decided to tell him off.

"Uhhhhhh..... you can go now....."

He then gave me a quick nod before using body flicker with no hand signs. I was honestly impressed since it showed me a difference between the last guy and Itachi.

Itachi could use it with no signs while the Gennin had to use one and charge it for a while. If that Gennin tried to use it in battle, he would either die because of the dizziness it causes or because he wasn't fast enough.

"Rock Lee!" A stern and mature woman's voice sounded out from behind me. "Where are you!"

Identifying that it came from the second floor which held my room. I assumed that the landlady or 'guardian' had found out about my absence.

Peeking her head over the railings to the second floor, she immediately made eye contact with me. She then developed an uncomfortably calm smile before slowly leaving my sights.

"Leeeeeeeee!" She yelled causing me to jump as she ran down the stairs and directly at me. An Iruka style punch then landed directly on my head causing me to rub in pain. "Where were you young man! Didn't you hear me talk about strangers! Haven't I told you about what some ninjas do to little boys like you?"

She then began to feel my arms with a surprising amount of worry on her face. "Did you get beat up again? Now that I think about it, your face looks a bit pale too. Are you sick? Why didn't you stay home Lee?"

A little bit frozen at the contrast of last night and this morning, I blanked out and responded unconsciously. "Yeah, I'm fine mommy."

We then both stared at each other for a bit. One blank and one not yet registering what I just said.

"Oh I see." The landlady said before getting up with a calm expression. She then began to nod repeatedly. "I'm glad to hear that. Now let's get you some lu-...."

Her head then turned towards me at a unhealthy speed. "Wait who's your mommy?"

Immediately realizing what I said, I decided to just own it. Maybe I could even play with it for a bit. Tilting my head cutely, I looked up at her an innocent expression.

"You are my mommy right?" I asked causing her to blank out once more. She soon sighed and started pushing me towards my room.

"No I'm not your mommy. We went over this Lee." The landlady muttered with a hint of sadness.

....

*clank*

Placing a bowl of steaming chicken soup on the table. The landlady sat it on the table in front of her and began to ask me questions .

"So what did you do outside Lee? You get a new friend or two? Meet any interesting people?"

'Hehe, I have a good idea.' I thought to myself as a childish smile appeared on my face. "I met an old guy in some dark room. He told me to call him Gramps!"

Freezing up, the landlady looked at me for a second before swallowing nervously. "Did the old man touch you in any way? And what did he look like?"

Putting a finger on my cheek cutely, I spoke without a filter. "No, he just told me I was invited to the Ninja Academy! He wore a white cloak and had a weird looking hat. He also had some cool bodyguards and a smoke pipe!"

"Ninja Academy? Old man?" The landlady muttered before looking at me with a bit of interest. "Did they call this man the hokage?"

"Yeah! They called him the Hokage, I would rather call him Gramps though." I said while slapping a small fist into my small palm.

Leaning back in her chair, she sighed in relief. Her eyes then shot open in realization and looked at me in shock.

"Did you say Ninja Academy!"

"Yes I did, Mr. Weasel is going to bring me my Academy stuff tomorrow. I can't wait too! I get to be a ninja!"

Still shocked beyond belief, she looked down at the bowl in front of her and pushed it towards me. She then got up before walking around the table.

Kneeling, she grabbed me by my tiny shoulder and looked me in my eyes with worry and seriousness. "Listen to me Rock Lee. And listen to me well."

"Do you want to be a ninja?" She asked to which I nodded. "You know that ninjas die right?" That earned her yet another nod.

"That means you could die Lee." She said seriously as her voice began to crack. Wrapping her hands around my back, she pulled me in tightly. "And I'll be alone Lee! I'll l-lose you and your parents! I-I don't want that!"

I calmly began rubbing her head and looked over at the bowl of chicken soup. 'She noticed that I was a bit pale earlier. Did she make that in case I was sick?'

Now I was in no way attached to this lady. But I felt bad for making her cry when she showed 'Rock Lee' so much care.

"Don't worry." I spoke softly while stroking her hair. "I won't die. I still have you to come home too. And I'll come home..... even if it kills me...."

She of course still cried as tears and emotions don't just suddenly return to normal. I however was patient enough to wait it out. My hand would stroke her hair every now and then to tell her I was still there.

When the tears stopped, she stood still for a second while hugging me with her eyes closed. And after a short little while, she asked me one final question.

"Do you want to be a ninja?"

"Yes."

Sighing, she got up and went towards the exit of my apartment. And without speaking a single word towards me, she just left.

I understood that she was currently going through a torrent of emotions. The kid of her friend, sister, maybe even brother, was going to an academy which taught kids how to kill.

And the kid himself wanted to do it!

So I felt a bit of pity towards her. I of course I still don't have the 'love' Rock Lee had towards her. But I certainly could respect her. She may have been the only driving force that kept Lee going through his child hood and time in the academy.

I then looked over at the pair of chop sticks and felt a bit confused. The place where I was born and raised never taught me how to use these. So I had to spend some time looking for a spoon.

I for some reason felt unfamiliar eyes of disgust peer at me through the dark but ignored it. I'll simply figure out how to use them later. But I will focus on this almost cold dish first.

...

So it's been a good hour since the landlady fed me and left in a bad mood. And I can only find myself in bed wondering what to do. Tomorrow is the day I go to the Academy and I have no idea where to begin in that regard.

I have no knowledge of how to read this worlds language and can only speak It. My body is still relatively normal and needs some work. My chakra is of course pretty small.

But in a flash of boredom, I decided to do what Rock Lee was known for.....

And that is training!

So I jumped off my bed and walked towards the bathroom. Once inside I found the most open area I could and sat down. It was a bit cold in there due to lack of air conditioning, but I could deal with it.

As I was young, I know my body was pretty flexible. I knew that as I age, my flexibility would lessen and decided that it would be nice to develop a good habit to stretch.

I would do a simple sitting down toe touch, the splits, and other things my child body could handle. Once positive my body was stretched well, I moved on to body weight workouts.

As my body was young, I did not yet want to use the weights Rock Lee used. My body could even be considered too young to do simple strength training in my previous world. But I was confident that chakra would take care of that burden.

I'd say my body was felt weak, but it was surprisingly capable! I was able to do a maximum of 50 push-ups, 300 squats, and 100 sit-ups.

Once I found said maximum, I began to split my max in half and use sets. Like multiple sets of 25 push-ups, 150 squats, and 50 sit-ups. I was extremely excited of what this new body was capable of.

In my past body, I couldn't even do a single push-up because of my illness. So being able to feel this newfound strength made my blood boil.

'I wonder just how far I can go.' I would think to myself as I did another set. And as my body screamed to stop, the familiar feeling of chakra would numb it. 'Let's do another set!'

And by the end of it. My body was completely and utterly done. Even if my mental wanted to keep going, my body was done for today.

'I guess.... I'll nap here.... for a bit.....'

I then took a nice little rest for an hour or two. If I had to say the total amount of stuff I did in those few hours. I would say around 500 push-ups, 3000 sit-ups, and 1000 sit-ups.

And all while my body looked relatively average! Who was the one who said Rock Lee didn't have talent! Or is this average here? If it's average....

I'll just train harder!

....

When I woke up again, the sun had just started to go down. I could tell as the small window in my bathroom showed the dark sky through its curtains.

My eyes felt heavy and my body felt even heavier. Mentally I felt out of it, and I doubted my ability to even move. But I still forced myself up and sat myself on the side of my bathtub. The floor was soaked with sweat and I knew It was going to be soaked more in the future.

'I need to start running too.' I thought to myself before chuckling. 'I can barely even move my body and I'm already wanting to train more. But how can I help it? I could never do this before! It feels... amazing!'

With a shaky hand and arms that were screaming in pain. I reached towards the knob and turned it. The shower head above the bathtub had began to rain out some cold water.

And with the sound of water smacking against the bottom of the tub. I had began to undress my clothes which where heavy with sweat.

Once done with that process, I shakily raised one of my legs over the side of the tub before bringing the other in. Noticing a rubber ducky in the coroner of the bath, I snorted a bit at the past Lee and began to wash myself.

'I'll switch between hot and cold showers every now and then. It will be better for me if I do.' I thought as I turned off the shower and stepped out. Careful not to slip, I grabbed a towel and dried off before wrapping it around my waist.

I threw the already soaked with sweat clothes into a basket in my room. Opened my drawer and grabbed some relatively comfortable clothes and got dressed. Still a bit sore but already feeling the regenerative affect of chakra do this work, I sat in bed and about let sleep take me.

*groan*

Opening my eyes and putting my hand on my stomach. I sighed as I realized what time it was.

'I missed dinner didn't I?'
