"D'you think we'll ever get a day off?"
It had been two years since they joined the commission. Each day was intense and draining, being pushed harder and harder and told to go beyond their limits. The only good thing they had was each other, but sometimes they just needed a break ya know?
The trio was walking down the hallway towards their room after finishing their quirk training. Touya sighed, bandaged hand plopping down on Keigo's head and ruffling his hair slightly.
"It's better not to get your hopes up, the commission hasn't given us a break since we got here, I doubt they would give us one now. Unless maybe Kio could bully them into it?"
Kio chuckled, hands linked behind his head as he glanced at Touya with a playful smirk.
"Hey now, I know they're kinda scared of me but that doesn't mean I wanna purposely push their buttons. What if they get sick of my bullshit and actually kick me out? Then who's gonna look after you guys?"
Keigo pushed him softly, leaning into Touya's side who wrapped an arm around him. He pointed an accusing finger at Kio with a mock glare.
"You know we're one of the strongest here too right? Just cause you're first to pick a fight with anyone that even looks at us funny doesn't mean we can't handle ourselves. It's just easier to let you take care of it."
Kio gasped, bringing a hand to his chest and resting it over his heart. With a soft "hey," all three dissolved into giggles, leaning against each other as they stumbled down the hallway.
Keigo's wings perked up, picking up small vibrations from up ahead. He raised his head, tilting it to the side as he tried to figure out what was going on.
Kio and Touya quietened at his sides, seeing the familiar look of concentration on his face. They glanced at each other, excited mischief shining in their eyes. They often listened in on the other trainees' conversations thanks to Keigo's feathers. They knew all the latest gossip and rumours which they used to their advantage, threatening anyone who stepped out of line with the information. They had basically climbed their way to the top of the food chain, not only with their knowledge but with their strength too, nobody dared mess with them.
Keigo paused, head tilting even further as his eyes squinted down the hallway. His wings suddenly puffed up, eyes snapping towards Kio and Touya, glowing with excitement.
"Someone's getting fired!"
They all immediately took off down the hall, Kio and Touya following behind Keigo while keeping their footsteps quiet. The new stealth training they had been forced to take was coming in very handy nowadays.
They stopped at an adjoining hallway, peeking around the corner and seeing two figures just up ahead. One had his head bowed while the other shouted at him furiously. While Keigo could hear them loud and clear due to his feathers, Kio and Touya had to strain their ears a bit just to make out a few words.
Touya huffed before his eyes caught sight of a keycard dangling from the neck of the one being shouted at. An idea formed in his mind, head swivelling around to make sure there weren't any cameras nearby.
"Hey, you wanted a day off right? And since the commission won't give us one, why don't we take one?"
Kio and Keigo turned to him, confused before Touya pointed out the keycard which could unlock doors manually. Kio grinned, eyes shining as he nodded at Touya but Keigo was more hesitant. He turned to the other two, wringing his hands nervously with wings pressed tightly to his back.
"But isn't that stealing? I don't want us to get in trouble..."
Kio and Touya glanced at each other with an adoring look. Keigo was just too damn cute sometimes. Touya smiled softly, placing a hand on his shoulder and bringing him to his side. He rubbed lightly at his arm, giving him a small kiss on the forehead.
"Well, it's not stealing if it doesn't belong to him anymore right? And we'll give it back, we'll just be borrowing it for a while."
Kio stood in front of him, ignoring Touya's horrible attempt at stifling a giggle, and held his hands. He kissed at the blunt talons softly, glancing at Keigo with eyes full of mischief.
"Let's have a little night out, just the three of us. What do you say, prince?"
Keigo's cheeks burned, relishing in the attention before giving a hesitant nod of his head. Kio and Touya grinned, ruffling his hair affectionately before huddling in close.
"Alright here's the plan..."
—————————————————————
Kio and Touya stood at the corner, Touya with his hands up and quirk at the ready while Kio stood behind him, arms around his waist and wings spread, ready to fly them out of the way once Touya activated his quirk. One of Keigo's feathers floated beside them, Keigo himself standing in a janitors closet a few feet away, eyes closed and listening intently with his feathers.
They waited a moment, eyes glued to the feather before it suddenly zipped back to the closet. Taking that as their cue, Touya released a burst of flames, hearing shouts of surprise and footsteps thundering down the hall towards them.
Kio beat his wings, lifting them off the ground and flying quickly to the closet. He underestimated his speed however and skidded, tumbling into the small room. He turned so his back was to the floor, intending to take the brunt of the fall and keeping Touya pressed close to his chest.
Instead of the hard floor, his back met soft feathers, cushioning his fall. Keigo stood beside the closed door, hand over his mouth as he tried desperately not to laugh. Kio grinned as he sat up, Touya sliding down to settle on his lap. He placed a hand on the floor, intending to stand up but paused as shadows appeared underneath the door.
They all froze, Kio unconsciously tightening his hold on Touya as he fell back against his chest. Keigo closed his eyes, sending a single feather out the door. They watched with bated breaths as the shadows shuffled around, before retreating from the closet. They still didn't move, not until they heard the footsteps fade into the distance.
Keigo opened his eyes and moved towards the door, Kio and Touya getting up and standing behind him. They paused once more, listening closely for any movements before Keigo slowly opened the door.
Three heads poked out, looking up and down the hallway before quickly exiting the room. They continued walking, acting like nothing had happened. Kio and Touya looked at Keigo curiously, wondering if he had actually gone through with it or not. Of course, they wouldn't be mad if he didn't but they really wanted to get out of this place, even if it was only for one night.
They walked back to their room and waited until the doors locked for the night. Once they heard the small click and beep of the lock, Kio and Touya turned to Keigo who grinned brightly at them. They heard small shuffling from underneath the door and watched as the feather from before came scuffling through, a familiar keycard hanging from the stem.
They both shouted with excitement, turning to Keigo who stood behind them, hands linked behind his back and rocking lightly on his feet. They grinned, chests swelling with pride as they tackled him to the floor.
They all laughed as they fell in a tangle of limbs, Kio and Touya showering Keigo with praises as he flapped his wings happily, excited chirps leaving his lips.
Kio sat up, bringing little Keigo into his lap and pulling Touya to his side, wrapping a wing around him. Keigo draped his legs over Touya's lap, smiling cheekily as he raised an eyebrow at him.
"Alright, so what now?"
Kio and Keigo looked at Touya incredulously, disbelief shining in their eyes. Keigo leaned forward with a small chuckle.
"You're kidding, right? This was your idea, you should know what to do now."
A small blush dusted Touya's cheeks as he tugged at his bandages.
"I didn't think we'd get this far..."
Kio smiled, gently prying his hand away from his arm and holding it tightly.
"That's alright! I'm sure we can think of something, right Kei?"
Keigo grinned, nodding in agreement as his little feet wiggled happily. Kio and Touya laughed softly at the adorable movement, Kio setting him between the two of them so they could squish his cheeks and hug him properly. Keigo squirmed under their ministrations, swatting at their hands until eventually settling into their warm embrace.
Kio glanced at the door, eyes narrowing in thought.
"There are security cameras along this hallway and near the training halls, but we know there's a window on the floor above right? So maybe, if I use my light speed the cameras won't be able to see us and I can fly us up the stairs and out the window without them ever suspecting a thing."
Touya and Keigo glanced at each other nervously, worry glimmering in their eyes. Keigo puffed his feathers, leaning his head against Kio's shoulder.
"But doesn't that tire you out? Light speed takes a lot of energy."
Kio grinned, standing up and stretching his limbs and wings.
"Don't worry! I've been doing some stamina training, so I should be able to make this one trip."
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, feeling his limbs stretching out and growing taller, his shirt becoming tight around his bigger form. He felt his ears and fangs sharpen but made sure the tail didn't form, it would be harder to control where he goes with the extra appendage. He had good control over his partial shifts but couldn't quite handle a full transformation yet.
He opened his eyes, looking down at Keigo and Touya who immediately put their arms up. He chuckled softly, bending down and picking them up, holding them close to his chest.
"You guys are getting too used to this."
Touya scoffed lightly, snuggling into him with a content smile.
"Shut up. You love picking us up just as much as we love being picked up."
Kio shook his head but didn't deny it. He crouched down, wings spread and ready to lift off the moment Keigo unlocked the door. They watched the feather slide under with the keycard, hearing it scuffle lightly with the panel until it clicked softly.
The door slid open, Kio tightening his hold on the other two before releasing a burst of energy and taking off. Keigo and Touya clenched their eyes shut, gripping tightly to Kio's shirt as he zipped down the hall and up the stairs.
He tumbled out the first window he saw, curling around Keigo and Touya as he fell onto the grass outside. He lay there for a while, heavy breaths leaving his lips as he shrunk back to his normal height. Keigo and Touya crawled out of his arms and brought him into theirs, running their fingers through his hair as his eyes fluttered closed with exhaustion. Keigo wrapped a soft wing around him while Touya used quirk to heat up his body so Kio could absorb some much-needed energy. He kissed softly at Kio's cheek, swiping a hand through black locks.
"Are you ok? I know you said you're taking some stamina training but it still looks like it took a lot out of you."
Kio smiled softly, giving him a shaky thumbs-up.
"I haven't...passed out yet, so I think...I'll be ok."
His words were broken by heavy breaths, trying to fight off the exhaustion. The heat Touya was emitting was definitely helping. They laid there in the grass while Kio caught his breath.
Taking one last deep breath, Kio sat up, wincing slightly at the small ache in his limbs. He stood up, stretching out his muscles, he turned to Keigo and Touya with a bright grin.
"Alright, let's get this night started!"
