Chapter 16 - True-Warrior Contest (1)

The original form of Tanah Agra is actually a giant floating land that moves freely in the sky. However, due to the ambushed and attacked from Arinas, the sacred land fell and sunken on the west of Beta Urora. Now the sacred land looked like a fake gigantic mountain blocking the only access to the north.

The largest and widest land of Tanah Agra is located in the center. There stood the mighty Dragon Castle. The residences of some of the Dragons family were at the foot of the castle while the rest were spread out over four separate lands which were connected by giant thick tendrils that were extremely sturdy. The vine was a connecting path in the form of a long flexible ladder.

The True-Warrior Contest was held in the Dragon Castle. Within the splendor of the castle, there is a kind of colosseum thing or arena which two times larger than football field. The breadth and size also could accommodate up to thousands of Dragons in the form of real dragons. Seating was made terraced to make it easier for the audience to spectate the battle within.

The contest had been going on since this morning and each Dragons have been confirmed to only have one ticket to challenge the contest. The ticket is in the form of a tribal tattoo symbol that works as the unique identity.

The system that applies was quite simple. Winning is the key. The audience could straightly challenge from audience seat to the arena. There were no age or status restrictions. All Dragons who already have tribal tattoo symbols may used their rights.

"It's still too early, challengers and incumbents are still low-tier knights." Julius suddenly sat beside Alvi. "Auntie," he greeted Freya who was sitting next to Alvi.

"You're not challenging?" asked Alvi.

Julius shook his head briefly. He leaned back and replied, "Now is too boring. Strong people will wait at least until the evening or tomorrow."

"Let these low-tier knights show their potential. The fun will only begun when the descends of the four noble families come out." Julius explained.

"Four? Aren't there five noble families?" Alvi was a little confused.

"Vaiskyler is not included. How could Mr. Arken come down to the arena. Unless Raka—" Julius suddenly shut his mouth tightly. He forgot Freya Natalia Grey, the biological mother of Raka Gilbert Vaiskyer sitting along them.

Meaning the remaining noble families were Ragnvald, Waldermar, Frostfall and Kane.

"But I think a low-tier match like this is still worth watching. Many techniques can be learned. Especially the use of weapons," said Alvi.

"You mean Silva? The weapon is also a standard one. It's purposely made like that so it's not too flexible," Julius responded.

"Silva is different from my sacred-weapon, or Gina nor Andra. The particle of freedom is reduced so much that it can only transform into two forms at most." Julius explained.

"Mine can change at my free will." Julius showed his sacred-weapon. An aquamarine blue ring on his middle finger began to turn into leaves, Melatis, vessels in bottles and many more.

"Sacred-weapons are actually Dragons single and unique weapons. It designed to suit the user's personality. For example, Gina likes to use bow, and Andra uses spear. But beyond that, Gina is actually quite good at swordplay. Also Andra's machete technique isn't bad either." Julius said at length.

"Our weapon are able to follow our desires and change in the middle of a fight. But Silva is different. Silva was aimed at low-tier knights whose still couldn't control their hearts and minds. If a sacred-weapon like mine is given to them, the result is unimaginable. The sacred-weapon will continuously change its shape and may harm the user or people around." Julius kept on explaining.

"Simple said, Silva is a sacred-weapon designed for beginners. Apart from swords and spears, those weapons will not be able to transform into any other form." Julius was suddenly silent for several moment. "But according to ancient records. Silva can actually be transformed into another form, it just really difficult because of the limitations of the freedom particles. Until now, no one has been able to prove that theory."

"If there is someone like that, maybe that person is already becoming the Dragons strongest knight." Julius finished with a long laugh.

The battle in the arena continues to be more fired up and exciting. The two Silvas clashed fiercely in the middle of the arena, one is in sword form while the other was a spear. The spear-wielder seemed to dominate the battle. He managed to push his opponent to the edge of the arena circle.

Alvi watched the fight very serious, meanwhile Julius had gone somewhere else since he seems a little bored.

The sword-wielder haven't given up. Even though he knew he was cornered, he wasn't out of his mind. As his opponent extended his spear towards him, he took advantage of this small little gap to roll forward towards his opponent. That one roll managed to get him behind the spear wielder's back. With sword in hand, he directly lands the weapon on his opponent's neck.

The match ended with an applause from majority audiences.

"I see." Alvi subconsciously muttered to herself.

"Spears are medium to long range weapons. In theory it excels in almost every aspect, both in terms of attack and defense. But it all goes back to the user's technique." Someone suddenly spoke beside her. Alvi didn't know since when the man sat in Julius's place.

"Compared to swords, for some reason spears are more popular. Maybe because of the balance between attack and defense. But spear was not an easy weapon to master. That's why the very first weapon to be taught is sword. But those knights were in too much of a hurry. They eager to quickly learn the spear. Young man can't be blamed, right?" The stranger started to grumble.

"How about you? If you dare to comment, does that mean you are much stronger than them?" Alvi asked at the same time, testing the stranger man.

The man looked up slightly at the sky. He thought for a long time before answered. "Not really, should be the same as the four noble families."

"Well, you have to wait at least until midnight to see interesting things. High-level techniques and unique fighting styles from each family. At that time it was no longer a matter of win-lose. But about your family status."

"You seem to know a lot." Alvi responded to that man.

The mysterious man stood up. Behind his long, messy hair that covered almost the entire face, a familiar smile was visible. "Of course. I've been a part of them too," he answered before leaving.

What Julius or the stranger said was true. At the evening, the atmosphere of the battle in the arena was heating up. Every noble family began to field their best knights.

But a sudden flash of lightning sparked from the audience seat and pierced to the chest of both knights who were still fighting in the arena. The two unlucky knights immediately collapsed in blood.

Arken reflexively stood up in anger. This is not a killing match. Who dares to break the most basic rule?

"Whoa, whoa, whoa… look what they're doing here." Owen, the number 10 of strongest warrior of Samsara spoke in a loud voice from the audience seat.

All the attention in the Colosseum arena was immediately drawn to the uninvited guest.

"Never thought we could go this deep, right?" Owen seemed to be able to read the confusion.

"Just give up if you guys are trying to communicate with those in Raffendel." Daus said from another corner of the audience seat.

It was true that the mind-communication did not get any response from outside.

"How about we just continue the fight here? The opponent is me." Owen disappeared from his position and reappeared in the middle of the arena. A crescent-shaped weapon was clutched in both his hands.

"Let's be quick, how about two vs two?" Daus the number 3 does not want to be a spectator.

Regina Waldermar and Rafael Andra Waldermar accepted the challenge without second thought.

"We can't go out. This place seems to have been sealed by them." The message thought mind-communication was delivered by one of the Dragons who took the initiative to check the gate.

"Judging by the numbers, we should be able to win easily." The head of the Frostfall family, William Frostfall, came up with an idea.

"No, let Gina and Andra test them first." Arken didn't want to underestimate his enemy.

On arena, Gina took initiative to attack. Her sacred-weapon turned into a bow and shot directly at Owen. Owen dodged Gina's attack with ease. But the attack was just a bait because a spearhead was waiting for him in the position he dodged.

Andra counterattack seemed to know where Owen would move.

"Not bad." Owen praised despite receiving a thin cut at his neck. "But don't forget your opponent isn't just I alone."

From the other side, Daus threw a fist and Andre was dragged back.

With this close distance, Daus certainly didn't want to waste the opportunity. He is a melee fighter who concentrates his own strength in both fists. Daus increased the speed of the blow until it barely left a gap for Andra to counterattack.

Same thing with Gina against Owen. Owen kept pushing forward whenever Gina tried to create a distance. With the both Waldermar drifting apart, the heads of the Dragons families began to get restless. But Arken remained calm and believed in his two children.

Regina Waldermar was finally cornered. Just as Owen thought he would be the first one to take the life of noble family descendants, Gina had drawn her bow.

"It's useless, I can dodge your shot easily." Owen proves his words and he managed to dodge Gina's arrow.

However, Gina's real target was not Owen, rather at Daus who was in the same straight line as the arrow.

At the same time, Andra dodged skillfully to the left and his sacred-spear weapon turned into a long-barreled rifle and shot into Owen's dodge position.

The arrow pierced Daus' forehead while the bullet lodged in Owen's back. To complete this action, both Andra and Gina slayed at their opponents neck in instant. Surprisingly it wasn't blood that spurted out from Owen's headless body, but rather a suspicious green gas explosion. The gas quickly spread throughout the arena and began to creep into the audience seat.

Gina who was closest immediately fell to her knees while coughing a few times. Andra also down to his knee while felt his body suddenly become numb.

"Gina!" Andra was about to approach Gina when a fist hit his back and pierced right to his chest. Andra turned around and found out Daus still able to move even without the head!

"Aww... how cruel you are," Daus said as he re-attach his head and pull out the arrow. The hole in his forehead slowly closed again like water particles coalescing.

"I am Daus, the strongest warrior of Samsara number 3 and also the best in the Arinas. This kind of physical attack can't hurt me at all." Daus said arrogantly, ignoring the fact that the head of the Dragon's noble families was still at the same place as him.

"What a coincidence, my fire is very well suited against a water type like you." Henry Aditya Kane, the father of Julius Aditya Kane appears right next to Daus. His hand tightly gripped Daus' arm which pierced through Andra's chest.

Red flames spread rapidly throughout Daus' body. Similar to Owen's death, Daus' body also exploded into shards of water droplets that soaked the entire colosseum.

It was neither ordinary water nor poisonous water. From every scattered drop of water, one after another the frog-faced Arina knights appeared. They were clad in full iron armor with swords and shields in each hand. That is to say, what the Dragons are fighting now are no longer the two strongest warriors of Samsara, but the army of the Arinas that is constantly popping out.
