All the authority vehicles stopped outside of the town's local library. The library possesed an almost similar architecture to old Greek buildings and the white paint was dirty and chipping.
Chief McConnors, Lieutenant Hartz and Sergeant Hartz entered the building first leading in the paramedics and the forensics team that had arrived a minutes later than everyone else.
Detective Andrew Arias stood by the gradient dark blue to black Lamborghini Aventador SV waiting for his infamous partner.
Detective Artemis Nemesis Athens, the infamous homicide detective of Ocean Ville Town exited the car.
Her blood red hair styles in a French braid and her Prussian eyes covered by black shades.
She was wearing a black button down shirt with black jeans. She had her black detective's coat hanging by her shoulders in a fashionable way.
She gestures towards her chestnut haired, tan skinned and emerald eyed partner to lead the way. Andrew was wearing the same attire as her, excluding the shades.
As soon as as they entered the library, the metallic scent of blood wafted to their noses. Artemis took off her shades and she started following the scent towards the crime scene.
The middle-aged, whitening dark brown hair and brown coat covered back of Chief McConnors was the sight that greeted her as soon as she reached the crime scene.
"Chief?" she called.
Chief McConnors turned around and faced the youngest detective in the ranks.
His ice blue eyes glaring at her and his face had turned into a disapproving look.
"You're late," he stated simply before turning away from her.
"The forensics were even later than us, Chief. Andrew and I were only 2 seconds late to arrive," she whined.
"Andrew is on time. You're the one late," the chief continued, not facing the younger woman.
"Fine, I'm sorry. Athena was acting up again. Her and her stupid teenage hormones," Artemis apologized before cursing her younger sister.
Chief McConnors merely rolled his eyes in annoyance over the younger detective. She's talented indeed but somehow, she always manages to get on the nerves of all her superiors.
"Andrew please do fill in your pathetic partner on the case while I go and start handling the investigation," Chief McConnors ordered.
"Yes, sir," Andrew replied stiffly before giving his younger partner and best friend a blazing glare.
"You could've gotten both of us in trouble, Artie!" he hissed at her angrily.
"As I said, I was only two seconds late to arrive and join you guys, it's not a big deal, I'm here right now," Artemis stated with a sigh and she rubbed her temple in frustration.
"Now would you please fill me in on the deets?" she pleaded.
"16 year old teenager, Alyssa Monroe, was murdered here in the library and was witnessed by Madam Williams, the librarian. She was the one who called and informed the police about the murder.
She didn't get to see his face though and that's the reason why we're here. The police's job is to arrest the murderer, our job is to find the murderer," Andrew said.
"How did she describe the murderer?" Artemis asked as she walked with Andrew beside her towards the crime scene.
"Broad shoulders, wide back, tall... Wait scratch that, very tall. He was wearing full black as well," he said.
"Huh, so it's a man. Probably another pyscho that I need to be looking for now. How many more pyschos do I need to find before I hit retirement?" she whined with a sigh.
"You're only 26, Artie. How can you think of retiring now?" Andrew asked, voice very much showing that he had more doubts in the woman beside him now more than ever.
"Oh please, Andrew... After finding about 140 pyschos by now, I think retirement would be amazing before I turn into a pyscho myself!" Artemis exclaimed with as knowing smirk.
Andrew sighed before shaking his head in disappointment at his partner's behaviour.
At times he doubted the fact that he was in his right mind when he chose to be partnered up with Artemis Nemesis Athens, the daughter of Aiden Anthony Athens, the greatest detective of all time.
But as years passed by and he worked more with her, he had gotten used to her way of solving cases and her younger sister, who was as crazy as her older sister.
As soon as Artemis saw the corpse of Alyssa Monroe she suddenly realized why she had a sense of familiarity when she heard the name slip out from Andrew's lips.
Alyssa Monroe was a beautiful girl with long wavy chocolate brown hair, tan skin and light green eyes. She always somehow had a smile etched on her lips and she often came over to Artemis's house to meet Athena, her younger sister. Alyssa was one of Athena's close friends.
Now, seeing the oh-so full of life Alyssa Monroe reduced to a mere corpse with her eyes wide open in horror and pain, it brought tears to the young detective's eyes.
But after 3 years of seeing such ghastly sights, she never expected to see someone she knew extremely well, from her parents to her two older siblings who were furthering their studies in Tokyo and London, to be laying dead right before her eyes.
With tears in her eyes, Artemis started the investigation. The fact that Artemis was holding back tears was noticed by Andrew and it did not sit well with him, he hated it whenever the younger woman was about to cry or crying.
They've been best friends ever since they met for the first time at the front gates of the detective academy.
She was never one to cry easily unless said situation triggered something in her that pulled her heartstrings rather forcefully.
"Corinne, murder deets," Artemis requested from the brown skinned, long black hair with purple highlights.
She was wearing big square thick black plastic rimmed glasses. Corinne Clara Sterling is the most experienced homicide forensic officer in Ocean Ville. She is also part of Artemis's team of homicide investigators.
"Stabbed three times in the chest, four times in the back and phycho has also slashed her face terribly," Corinne stated.
Artemis winced when she noticed that Alyssa's face was slashed with no remorse.
"Three times in the chest... Four times in her back... 34?..." Artemis muttered.
Artemis turned to Andrew who was vigorously writing down whatever she muttered and the information that was being given to them by Corinne.
"That's all for now. Officers and detectives disperse. Lieutenant and Sergeant Hartz have investigated the witness. Detective Athens and Arias, I expect that the two of you brainstorm about who the murderer is throughoutly. Now... Scram all of you!!!" and with that wonderful speech from Chief McConnors all of the officers and the the two detectives immediately exited the crime scene hurriedly as to not get yelled at.
What everyone did not know was that this was only the starting of bloodshed in Ocean Ville Town.
