Jada wasn't surprised by Sage's words. Jada had expected this, that was why she put a man on her mum to keep her informed about any suspicious visit.
She knew is only a matter of time before her enemies go knocking on her mum's door. So that wasn't the reason for Jada's tense silence following Sage's words.
Hearing her mum mentioned like every other time her thoughts come up Jada was overwhelmed by her guilt that she keeps buried down in her mind with the thoughts that it was better this way as her mum won't like who she has become now and so she was sparing her from the disappointment or herself from having to see that look on her face.
Jada swallowed hard and buried back the guilt like she has done every other time and focused on the matter at hand.
"Hello, hello, " Sage echoed through the phone following the few seconds of silence after his words.
