"What?" I replied, my voice wavering.
"Your injuries from the crash were too great, and you died from them." he replied. I couldn't believe this dragon but somehow I knew what he said was the truth. He seemed familiar is some way.
"Do I know you from somewhere dragon?" I just decided to go out and ask him. "Ho, quite you are quite the perceptive one, my name is Ikara, I was your pet in that world." So my salamander turned into a dragon, just great.
"If I'm dead, why am I here and not in the afterlife? I'm not very religious so I don't know much."
I wish I never asked him that question, because the answer would haunt me for weeks. "You have the blue dragon's soul, so you will be placed into the world that needs a hero." Dragon... soul? "What do you mean dragon soul? A different world? You can't just pin all this on me at once without an explanation."
I couldn't understand what he meant at the time, but I understand that now.
He replied with "I do not know, this was the prophecy handed down through my family for generations. I'm the last blue dragon so I knew I would find the one the prophecy spoke of, but I now know what it means."
I tried to get him to tell me but a blinding blue light engulfed us both and I fell unconscious again.
************
I woke up in the back of an old wagon, and my entire body felt like it was on fire. "Oh, you're finally awake, huh? Want to tell us what you were doing in the woods young lady?"
I groaned in pain, "Where am I?" The wagon stopped and the driver and his passenger looked at me stunned.
"You can't be serious, did you hit your head out there?" I knew that I had to play along to avoid suspicion, so I just said "I might have, but I can't remember anything. You said you found me in the woods?" If I was in a different world I needed to get my bearings first.
"John I'll fill her in, just make sure we get back to Legure on time." So the driver's name was John, but that didn't help much. "Alright Ryan, but you should put her up if she doesn't remember where she lives. Be a good hunter, show some compassion for someone other than your daughter for once."
Wait Ryan? Hunter?
This is too familiar to be a coincidence. Before I could make any solid conclusions Ryan asked me "Alright, do you remember what your name is kid?"
"Yeah, my name is Rito, kind of like the bird."
I didn't realize how much I messed up by saying that until I remembered the dreams.
The time spent in this world was about to get very interesting, and I ended up getting caught up in the middle of it all.
