Chapter 13 - Chapter 13   A Good Encounter With Fate

A nightmare woke Su Qingtang up in the middle of the night. Cold sweat runs down her back. Her breath is unsteady until she finally realizes where she was. She was in Su Qingtang's world. A bit of melancholy shines in her eyes.

She quickly goes to wash her face and looks over at the time. 6:40 flashes on the alarm clock as she looks over to it. The system was in a state of sleep, like a computer would after you left it inactive for too long. Su Qingtang quickly decides against waking it up and takes up her phone. She enters WeChat and sees the friend request she still hadn't replied too. She stalls for a bit before she decisively accepts it. Its not like it really mattered too much anyway.

Little Flower In The Rain: Good Morning~

No reply.

She hadn't really expected much. Who on earth would be awake at this time? Unless they had something to do early in the morning or had gamed the entire night away everyone would probably be asleep.

Ping.

Her phone lightly pinged. She looked back at it a bit of happiness running through her. It seemed she wouldn't be lonely tonight anymore. She sits back unto her bed.

Lu Yexuan: Good Morning.

Lu Yexuan: Can't sleep?

Little Flower in The Rain: Yeah

Little Flower In The Rain: I'm actually quite surprised you responded. Why are you up?

Lu Yexuan: Its twelve pm where I am.

Little Flower In The Rain: Ah, I hope I'm not disturbing you or anything

Little Flower In The Rain: Are you busy?

Lu Yexuan: A bit

Little Flower In The Rain: Okay.

Little Flower In The Rain: Let's talk another time.

Su Qingtang stared at the profile for a bit. Strange emotions swirling in her eyes as she watched him quickly go offline.

"Why is the system so hell-bent on setting me up with you and going against the female lead." She muttered a bewildered expression on her face. She had been plagued with this question for a while, but no matter how much she thought about it she couldn't come up with anything.

Su Qingtang had always understood the system's intentions but was avoiding it by pretending she didn't. Although the system knew that she wasn't who she portrayed herself to be it asked no questions and mostly left her to her own devices apart from the OOC which she had broken from on her second time around redoing this mission. It seemed there really weren't many restrictions on her moving about and doing things. Even if there was the systems hadnt mentioned anyother requirements from her exept regading OOC. This made her suspicions grow but she kept her thoughts to herself.

She trusted the system to a certain extent. It was like a business transaction after all. Su Qingtang died young in her original life and without understanding much of existence outside of her glass walls and, so the system gave her a second chance at life. If she would complete the mission for it. Simple. Yet not so simple. It was a typical no questions asked deal where both parties walk out happy even if they don't know the full picture.

I wonder if there's some sort of hidden mission or something. Su Qingtang had a very sneaking suspicion about this even though she had no way of verifying by contacting the world consciousness herself. She could only talk to the intermediate the system who was showing signs of not being completely forthcoming. She didn't blame the system because she herself wasn't completely unconditionally forthcoming and laid bare before the system either. She found no joy in being hypocritical.

Forgoing the idea of sleep Su Qingtang makes herself some tea and picks up her script. From her time spent discussing the plot with Wen Xingshen she had a much better grasp of the important storylines and emotions she should portray. She sat in complete silence of the night as she stared at the mirror and acted by herself.

Daylight soon peaks over the buildingtops and the system exits its sleep mode only to find Su Qingtang awake and busy. It was a pretty pleasant surprise to not have to rush Su Qingtang to wake up and to do things in the morning. Quickly it checked the hidden mission bar in its brain like it usually did. But Something had inexplicably changed.

For the increase of {+5} of the hidden mission clearance the system is rewarded with a basic mission prize

The system was shocked! "Host what happened while I was sleeping? You seemed to have gotten 15 percent closer to achieving your mission of making the male lead happy." In all its time with Su Qingtang it had never seen the mission completion rate rise at all it always continuously fell. This was like timely rain in a drought!

Su Qingtang was also quite astonished. "All I did was accept his friend request and merely said hello. Isn't this development a bit… much?" How did taking to the male lead make him so happy?

The system swallowed its saliva and wordlessly received his own basic gift before it struck him. "Host! Here is your first mission prize. Although its just a basic prize its good nonetheless."

A mission prize? Su Qingtang was pleasantly surprised. She watched as the system opened it with bated breath.

Ding!

You have just received: a good luck token, a teleportation rune [single use] and a skill

"A skill?"

"Ah host! Your luck is quite good—if I do say so myself—a skill is a free chance to be good at something you aren't good at. You can choose from all kinds of skills like gaming skills, racing skills and even-"

"I'd like some singing skills please."

Ding!

You have just received singing skills.
