Sophia spent the rest of the week making my life miserable. She rigged my chemistry experiment so, it exploded in my face. Thankfully, she wasn't very good at chemistry so, nothing bad happened to me. During gym, she stole my clothes. Again, thankfully, I always brought an extra set of clothes. That's how it was for the rest of the week. Sophia trying to ruin my day and me being prepared. The up side is that it drove her crazy. The down side is that it drove me crazy.
On the other hand, Mace Smith spent the rest of the week trying to make it up to me. Helping me with my books, opening doors for me, carrying my lunch, complimenting my outfits, helping me clean myself up after the whole chemistry incident. I knew he was just feeling bad but, he was really irritating me. It didn't help that I had to spend two hours after school with him.
"Can you please just leave me alone?" I said , annoyance in my voice. "I really just want to be alone."
"Sorry," he said, sadly. Great.
"I'm sorry okay," I said. "You just haven't left me alone this entire week. I know you feel bad about what Sophia did but, no amount of compliments is going to make me not mad with her."
"Sorry," he said.
"Stop apologizing for other people's mistakes. It's not your job," I said.
"Green!" Gabby practically yelled from across the hall way. My goodness.
"Can you yell a little louder? I don't think they heard you in South Korea," Sophia said.
I wasn't really in the mood for her crap so, I said, "Don't you have like friends or a life outside mine?"
"Don't flatter yourself honey," she said opening what I assumed was her locker. "Macy." Barf. " Let's go."
Gabby started giggling, "Yeah, Macy."
It took all my self-control to keep myself from laughing too. But, my mood immediately changed when I saw 'Macy' following Sophia like a dog. His head sort of down.
"You have got to be kidding me?" Gabby said in disbelief.
I wasn't surprised. Gabby hadn't noticed but, Mace had been like that all week. I knew I said I'd help him break up with Sophia but, you can't help people who don't want help.
I sighed, "Let's get to class, Gabby."
She just stared at Mace and Sophia, her mouth wide open. So dramatic. I had to drag her from her bag to class.

The day actually went by pretty quickly since, neither Mace nor Sophia bothered me. It was just me and Gabby.
At lunch, we both went to sit at our usual table when Martin and Joanie came up to us with their lunch in hand. I hadn't spoken to them in a while. Not that I didn't like that. I just kind of missed them.
They sat down at our table without asking. Now I remember why I haven't spoken to them in a while.
"I'm sorry, can we help you?" I said, trying to be polite.
"Oh cut the crap, Green," said Martin. What?
"We know about your little fling with Mace," Joanie said. Of course.
"There is no fling," I said, not ready for an argument with these people.
They ignored me and turned to Gabby, who looked as if the last person she wanted to see was right beside her. I didn't blame her though.
"And you," Martin said. "All it took was Green getting a new boyfriend for you to ditch us. Really?"
"I'm not having this conversation with you, Martin," Gabby said. "You know what you did."
I then realized I never really knew why Gabby stopped talking to Martin and Joanie. But, by the look on her face, I could tell it was something that wasn't so good.
She was about to say something else when I squeezed her hand. "Let's go eat in the library," I said. She looked at me gratefully and we took our lunch and went to the library.
On our way, I tried asking her what Martin and Joanie did to her but she just said, "Don't worry about it."
I didn't post it. She would talk to me when she was ready.
When we got to the library, I decided to go get a book from the sci-fi section. As I got there I saw Mace and Sophia doing their lion thing again. Ew.
"Oh not this again," I said quietly but, loud enough for them to hear me. They stopped immediately. "This is a library not a damn motel. If you have to do whatever that was, do it outside. Or at least not next to 'The Gone Series'."
Mace looked like he was trying his hardest not to burst out laughing. Sophia on the other hand, looked like she was about to kill me. But, I wasn't joking about the doing it outside thing.
"Go on," I said, gesturing my hand to the romance section. "Do your lion thing there."
"Listen, you tacky ass bitch..." Sophia started. Language.
I wasn't in the mood to fight her just yet so, I just blocked out what she was saying. I took a book, waved goodbye to Mace and walked away.
"What was all the noise about?" Gabby asked.
"Nothing," I said. "It was just Sophia being Sophia."
"Poor Mace," Gabby said.
I just sighed and started reading my book.

My favorite time of the week finally came. In case you didn't guess, it's the weekend.
I invited Gabby over to my house for a sleep over so, she went home to pack her things.
I still had to stay at school because I was the basket ball team manager. It had been going really well. Although, some of the team members still looked like they has a personal vendetta against each other but, I decided that unwound fix that the next day.
I asked the coach if he could get them to come to my house because, I knew there was no way they'd come on a Saturday morning if they had another choice.
"Don't worry," the coach said. "They'll be there."
He had been way nicer to me since I started working with him. He called the team and told them. Some of them didn't look into the idea at all but, most of them were okay with it.
Practice finished early that day which was great because I still had that sleep over. I knew it was a lot to do in one weekend but, I was a multi taker.
While I was trying to balance my bag on my bike, Mace came up to me.
"Hello," I said, not looking at him.
"Hi," he said.
He stood there like he wanted to say something but, didn't know how to say it.
I didn't say anything either because I wanted him to speak. It took a while but he finally spoke.
"Green?"
"Yes."
"Did you hear about the party tomorrow night?"
"Party?" I said. "Who throws a party on a Saturday night? Who throws a party any night? I mean to take time out of your day to plan a party..." Then I looked up at him and realized, "It's your party, isn't it?"
"Yeah."
I sighed. "We'll be there." Great. One more thing in my plate. That was exactly what I needed.

That night, Gabby and I decided to each all four movies of 'The Hunger Games' and raiding my fridge for snacks. I loved it when she came over. We finally finished all the movies.
"I can't believe Katniss chose Peeta over Gale," Gabby said.
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"What happened wasn't his fault," she started. "All he did was make the weapon. If anything it was a mistake."
"A mistake that killed her sister," I stared. "The reason she was in the whole Hunger Games mess in the first place. And if someone has enough hatred in their heart to build a weapon like that then, I would rather keep my distance."
Gabby said nothing.
The silence was getting uncomfortable so, I decided to tell her about the party.
"Oh my goodness. Green's going to a party," she said in the mist annoying shrieking voice I had ever heard.
"Green and Gabby are going to a party. I'm not doing this alone."
She squealed.
"Martin and Joanie are going to be so jealous," she said.
"Didn't you guys already go to Mace's parties?"
"Yeah. But we've never actually been invited."
I smiled.
"We've got to pick out what you're going to wear. Practice what you're going to say. What hairstyle are you doing?..." she rambled on.
She went up to my room and started to raid my closet.
"Gabby. What in earth are you doing?"
"You have all these designer clothes but, you still insist on wearing the ones you make," she said, sounding dissapointed.
"I thought you liked my clothes," I said, a little hurt. "Besides I don't think I'm going to the party. I've got too much to do tomorrow."
"What? No," she said. "You have to go. I'll help you with everything you have to do."
"You don't have to," I said. "I just won't go." I had made up my mind.
Then I got a text.
Mace Smith: I'm so glad you're coming to the party tomorrow. :-)
"This is just emotional blackmail," I said.
"What is it? Let me see," Gabby took my phone. "Now you definitely need my help."
