Chapter 4 - System 2/2

Alexander was the first to finish and picked himself up from the ground as he headed for the exit. He moved the wooden board to the side.

The rays of light landed on his face. Alexander turned to look at Joseph. "Keep training. I will concentrate on feeling the mana around you and directing it to your body. Once you have accomplished this, you must create your first core fragment."

Joseph looked at him excitedly as he nodded. He quickly ate the apple in his hand before positioning himself in a lotus pose.

Blackie, who was still sleepy, lay down on his lap after eating and fell asleep. Alexander looked at them momentarily before leaving. He looked at his surroundings before heading on a different path from the day before.

Over time, the surroundings began to change, the forest became more lush and rays of light could hardly pass through the flora. At least he had walked a few miles from his shelter. Alexander moved cautiously. The real challenge began now.

On the planet Akar there were not only Porskas, humans or other races, but there were also beasts. The species depended on the area, but they all had one thing in common, which was their great hostility towards other living beings.

The city Mokul was one of hundreds of cities on the planet Arsak and one of the poorest cities.

Although also being one of the poorest, there was not as much discrimination as in other places. This is for a simple reason.

There was no time for that.

Everyone was focused on surviving. They had no time to waste.

Although just because they didn't give it importance all the time, didn't mean it didn't exist.

Alexander had heard that in other cities humans were kidnapped and sold into slavery.

Although publicly both races were allies, away from the public eye they harmed each other. Both races had attacked each other enough to never think of a true alliance. The relationship only revolved around benefits for each species.

Alexander waited a while until the store was empty before entering. He didn't enter earlier since customers always tended to look at him with disgust as soon as he made himself noticed before leaving the store.

This did not affect Alexander in the least, but it did affect the owners of the premises; His business would be affected. The owners of the store were two elderly Porskas who had helped him through his most difficult times.

The owners were very affectionate with him and whenever they could they helped him by giving him food that they had left over or clothes that they could not sell.

Although these products were of no use to them, they were very useful to Alexander.

One man's trash is another's treasure, they say.

Alexander came to have a great affection for them and did not want to ruin their profits, he would feel bad if he did.

"Hello, Uncle Mark and Aunt Mary," Alexander greeted the owners as soon as he entered the store.

"Oh, how are you Alexander?" A female voice answered from inside. When Alexander entered the store, he saw an elderly Porska.

"Well, Aunt María. Even if you see me with blood, I can assure you that I feel like never before," Alexander waved his hands before there were any misunderstandings.

Aunt Maria stopped what she was doing and quickly approached Alexander to check his superficial wounds. She looked at them for a while and realized that they weren't as serious as they seemed.

"Brat, stop getting into fights, it's not doing you any good. By the way, don't you look a little plumper?" Aunt Maria scolded Alexander before noticing his physical change.

"Don't worry, auntie. They were just some bastards who wanted to steal my money, but I managed to beat them." Alexander did not want to worry his aunt further and spoke in a proud tone, deliberately ignoring his last question.

Mrs. María could only make a fake smile, since she already knew Alexander's circumstances. She had seen him once while he was walking through town. The criminals always beat him and stole his money.

But seeing that Alexander didn't want to worry her, she could only remain silent.

"Since you say you're fine, then I won't worry. Tell me what you need, Alexander." Aunt Maria decided to change the subject while she resumed what she was doing previously.

"Same as always, auntie. Oh, I have some money here to pay." Alexander responded as he took ten credits out of his pocket.

The money that Alexander had at the moment was the magic money that Izaro and his group had left him after robbing him a few days ago.

"You know there is no need to pay, Alexander." A thick and slightly hoarse voice was heard from the back of the store. A huge figure appeared.

It was an elderly male Porska with a height of 2.5 meters tall. He was muscular and had a big belly, his gaze was fixed on Alexander.

When Alexander saw the Porska, he was not at all scared. It was his uncle Mark. It was common knowledge that an average Porska could reach such heights in his lifetime. If one received training to develop their physiques to the limit, reaching three meters was not far from reality.

Furthermore, his race had a superior advantage over the others. Even if they aged, their physique would always remain at its peak.

"I know, Uncle Mark, but it doesn't seem fair to receive things from you without giving anything in return." Alexander felt uncomfortable taking advantage of his uncle's kindness.

Hearing those words, Uncle Mark let out a light laugh before going to the back of the store and bringing the usual things that Alexander requested.

Five minutes later.

Uncle Mark returned with a box in his hands. This box contained clothes and many fruits from this planet. The latter took longer to decompose during abrupt changes in temperature.

Alexander had eaten fruits from planet Earth for breakfast, which had less value due to their short duration on the planet.

Alexander took the box before putting it on the floor and handing the money to his uncle. He then said goodbye and hurried back home. Uncle Mark and Aunt Maria exchanged glances as they watched Alexander walk away into the distance.

"For some reason he reminds me of our son…" Uncle Mark said with sadness in his voice.

"Yes…" Aunt Maria had a sad look in her eyes. After that small moment of melancholy, they both returned to their work.

When Alexander walked away, he failed to notice a distant look on his back. Multiple reptilian eyes flashed from a dark alley in the distance. After the figure of the young human could not be seen, the attention of this crowd was focused on the store.

"This is where you get your food, you little bastard... You shouldn't have angered me, you'll pay dearly..." A malicious voice was heard from the alley. The other individuals present felt a chill run through their bodies.

A ray of light shone lightly over the alley, revealing Izaro's smiling face before dimming.
