"Can we talk?" Kaname stood behind the door, looking unsure. Kaname was usually a pretty confident guy, I knew something was up.
"Yeah, have a seat on the bed" I stop putting away my clothes and sit on the bed with Kaname. "What's up?"
"I want to help you help you find our sibling,"
"Why?"
"I was thinking about how to be a better brother and I thought maybe if I help you find them it could bring us closer together."
"Well I guess I can't turn you down considering it's our sibling, huh, was that it?"
"I also wanted to know what you heard earlier" Kaname gives me an intense stare, causing me to turn away. "So you did hear something huh,"
"It's not like I meant to eavesdrop, I just happened to hear"
"So what did you hear?"
"Nothing is free, brother" I look at him with a smirk.
"Info for info then?" Kaname smirks back at me.
"You know something about our sibling?" I almost jumped off the bed, Kaname made an X with his fingers and shook his head.
"Do we have a deal?" He extends his hand and I quickly shake it, nodding my head. "Great, you first,"
"I heard Kami yelling about Father's successor, how she thought it was me and she told Father about how I never killed a pairing, now your turn"
"Hmm thought so, looks like my suspicions were right" Kaname closes his eyes and leans back a bit, he does this when he's thinking. "Seeing as how you said Kami thought that it was you means it's not you or it is you and he hasn't told you yet."
"Why would Father want me as a successor?" I tilted my head to the side in confusion "I mean I left the frontline,"
"That is true but power-wise, yours is the most versatile. Think about it, both mine and Kami's are more close contact-based but with yours, you can use it for anything. Although he'd have to convince you to rejoin the war and fight for his side and knowing you it'll take a lot to convince you to that. Unless..." Kaname pauses, sits up straight, and looks into my eyes.
"What?"
"Unless you find our sibling and they say for you to join the war, am I right?"
"I don't know, we'll figure out when we get there" I shrug my shoulders.
"There is another possibility though"
"What is it?"
"The successor could be our sibling"
"How though?"
"Think about it," Kaname leans back and closes his eyes again "Both Kami and I were in the room when he told us, the only people that it could be is you and our other sibling. If it wasn't you don't you think you'd be in the room too, but Father could probably have wanted to make sure that our sibling was a possibility to throw us off so that no one could get hurt."
"Get hurt?"
"You saw how angry Kami was when you walked into the room," Kaname sits up again "Kami has always wanted to be the successor, and lead the war. The only thing that stops her is me being the firstborn and your power." Kaname flicks my forehead.
"Owwww" I hold my forehead and give Kaname a death stare. He laughs and rubs my forehead.
"I missed times like this, as promised I'll tell you about our brother" Kaname smiles at me, as I look at him shocked.
"B-brother?"
"Yeah, we happen to have the same birthday but unlucky for you. You're the fourth born now."
"No way he's older than me?"
"Yeah and lucky for him he's younger than Kami"
"How do you know this and why haven't you told me?"
"As the firstborn, I have to take over the family business or the war, I chose the business so a little bit over 5 months into the war I did some training remember. There was a weird file on Father's desk so I opened it, there was no picture, and no name. On the top it said thirdborn, I was trying to read more until Father caught me and took it."
"I just love how you had information for all this time and told me nothing,"
"Karma, the only reason I didn't tell you was that you would abandon everything to go look for him and at that moment we had just lost mom. I wasn't going to lose my baby sister too."
I couldn't say anything back because I knew he was right, I would have just dropped everything to go look for our brother. Kaname looked down and said "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier but you look like you understand why."
"I do but I have one more question"
