Chapter 2
NOVA'S POV
After the court meeting the imperial guards guided me out of the court room and outside is my three beautiful triplets waiting for me.
Yes, you heard it right I had triplets. It was a miracle from the sky above that I was able to endure the horrific labor.
"Mother!!" They shouted in union as they ran to me with their arms open wide and tears flowing through their rossy cheeks, their beautiful red eyes was swollen due to crying.
I kneeled at their level and welcomed them in my arms. "Why are you crying my babies?" I asked smiling, I don't want them to see that I was hurting or that I was troubled.
But my three little cubs saw right through my fake smile and immediately started crying even harder.
"Waaaah!!!!!"
My poor babies, at such a young age they would have to go through this hardship with me.
"Don't cry, Everything will be alright as long as you have me you will never experience hardship." I said to them assuring them that they have nothing to worry about.
"I don't care! I'll experience hardship all my life as long as I have Mother with me!" Aiden the oldest of the triplets said, he hugged me tightly and I did the same.
"Me too! I'll go wherever Mother goes!" Asher my middle child followed after, punching the air in the sky determined about his decision. I couldn't help but chuckled at his action.
I looked at my youngest Arlo, and he was clenching his little fist and his head held down at the ground while tears are flowing through his cheeks.
"I'll avenge you mother…."
I flinched at his sudden statement, I could feel my heart beat stopped for a brief moment. Arlo my youngest is the quiet one but even though he's often quiet he is also the sweetest one. That's why I was surprised at his sudden change of attitude.
I grabbed his little hand and clamp it together with mine. "Arlo, my baby. Don't say that let mommy handle it ok? You don't have to worry about anything other than growing up happy." I said to him, wiping his tears away but the more I wipe the tears in his eyes the more it flow even more.
"Its so unfair-- Mother didn't do anything wrong! Why does Mother have to suffer?! Why does my Mother have to be the one who's hurting?! Why?!" Ahh my baby…
I couldn't answer him even if I want to I couldn't because even I don't know the answer to his questions. I couldn't give him the answer he wanted all I could do is hug him as tight as I could.
"Let mother take care of it ok? We'll get through this." I said kissing his forehead.
"Y-your highness, its time." The knight who was watching stated, I could tell he was trying to be respectful but he was also apprehensive about calling me 'your highness' since I'm no longer the Empress.
"You don't have to call me 'your highness' I'm no longer your Empress." I said, the knights then bowed their heads as if embarrass of themselves. I just ignored them and focused my attention to my children.
"Aiden, Asher, Arlo. Its time to go." I said to them and they all nodded in response. The four of us held hands together as they escort us out of the court palace with nothing but the clothes that were wearing.
The moment we went out the palace the people of the kingdom was gathered outside to see us leave. It was a historic moment for the kingdom. In the history of the stellae kingdom no empress has ever been dethrone and let alone be vanish along with her childrens.
"Empress!!"
"We believe you!!"
"You murderer!!"
"You bitch you killed our Empress dowager!!"
The people's opinion is truly devided, some believed my innocence but some also loath me, believing that I'm a murderer.
I saw my three sons walking besides me, and I couldn't help but shed a tear at their attitude. They were walking along side me with head held high, not showing any signs of weakness in them.
"That's right my babies, keep your head high your mother did nothing wrong." I said to them and they nodded in response, we walked with pride and innocence on our backs.
At the gate of the palace a wooden carriage is waiting for us, I chuckled at how petty that woman is. They couldn't even send us a proper carriage but a commoner's carriage?
"They've gone too far! Even a commoner's carriage is much better than---"
"Aiden, stand down for now. We will have our time." I said, cutting Aiden off. I knew they were angry but for now we have to admit our defeat.
"Tsk." Aiden clicked his tongue in anger but I know he knew better. I'm proud of him for containing his anger.
Before riding the carriage I looked back one more time to the court palace, and I saw my ex-husband and his snake of a mistress looking at us, or should I saw smirking at us.
"boys" I called for the three prince.
They all turned their heads towards me and then to the direction I was looking. As if there's a telepathy between us four and what we all did shocked the entire kingdom especially the Emperor and his mistress.
We stood straight and smiled. With a deadpan expression We waved goodbye and flipped them off.
