Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3

During the carriage ride we laughed our hearts out remembering their reaction to us flipping them off.

"That the most fun we had since that witch took over the palace!" Aiden said laughing, Arlo and Asher nodded in response.

"Boys, you are not allowed to flipped anyone off without my permission ok? Today was just some special case." I said to them, I just allowed them to flipped their finger at their father to let out some steam.

"Yes mother." They said in union, I smiled at them and shuffled their hair. "I love you my triplets."

"I love you too mother." Aiden said, he then went to my side and hugged me.

"Me too! I love mother more!" Asher said and of course being my competitive Asher he also went to my side and hugged me.

"me t-too, I love you." Arlo said, unlike his brothers his a little shy and embarrassed to expressed his emotion but as his mother I knew just how sweet my baby is.

"Mother, where are we going now?" Aiden asked, I caressed his gold blond hair to ease his worries. "I told you not to worry about anything, Mother has already taken care of it." I said to them.

After that they didn't ask anything more, we still have a long way to go before we reach our destination, so the three of them doze off to sleep while making my legs are their pillow.

Hours passed and the sky is beginning to get dark, "ahm my lady we're almost there." The coachman said to us. "Alright. Tell me immediately if were there." I said.

Five minutes had passed and the carriage stopped at the middle of the woods.

"Were here my lady." The coachman said. I looked around to find the person that was supposed to help us get a house to stay in for the time being.

But time passes by and I couldn't see him, Fear and anxiety started to kick in what if he doesn't come? What if something happens to him?

No. No! Think Nova. Think of another plan.

A sudden knock from the outside jolted me from my seat, I looked at the window and there I saw a man wearing a black cloak covering his entire body.

I sigh in relief. 'Thank heavens.'

I opened the carriage door to let the man in, he took the hood of his cloak off revealing his face.

"Your highness, how are you holding up" Count Gray asked with a weary smile, his smile didn't reach his ear though.

"Count Gray, thank you for helping us." I said to him smiling, Count Gray was one of my late father's vassals whom I trusted the most. He was like a second father to me.

"My loyalty is with you your highness." He answered with a soft voice. "Your highness, let me help you with the princes." He said, I nodded in response and carefully gave him Aiden and Asher while I carry Arlo.

My poor children, they look exhausted and tired from all of this. They didn't even bother to wake up despite the motion of being carried.

With Arlo  in my hand, I carefully get out of the carriage.

I turned around to the coachman and handed him my last bag of gold coins. "If anyone ask tell them you drop us off the woods." I said to the coachman.

He nodded in response before accepting the bag of gold then he immediately took off, when I could no longer see the first carriage we rode I looked at the count. "This way your highness." Count Gray led us to a near by tree where another carriage is waiting.

Unlike the first carriage this one is big and luxurious, the seat was wide and long it was comfortable to sit in and it has a heater inside.

We first got the kids inside the carriage we lay them on the seat, thankfully the seat was big enough to fit the three of them in before getting on the carriage our self.

"Coachman, go." Count Gray ordered his coachman. "Yes sir."

"Count Gray, I could not thank you enough for doing this." I told him once more, the count just smiled while looking at the children.

"I know you were innocent, from the start I knew you wouldn't do such heinous crime." Count Gray stated his voice was soft with a hint of sadness in them.

From the begin of the investigation, Count Gray was one of my vassals who believed my innocence he tried hard to give me a fair trial but at the end of the day we lost to that snake and my husband, evidence were tampered and witnesses were ordered to be quiet.

"Don't worry count Gray, this is not over." I said to him, he looked at me "what are your plans your highness? I'll help you execute them all." he said.

"No. For now we need to lay low, but a time will come that I will take back everything they have stole from my children." I said to him.

"The princes must have been tired." He said starring at the sleeping princes. "Yes, being exiled by their own father on the kingdom that was once promise to them is not an easy thing to accept." I answered while caressing the hair of my sweet Arlo.

"Have you prepared what I asked of you count Gray?"

"Yes your highness, everything is ready. I have told my people to build you a house. Just like what you ordered. The house is not big nor is it luxurious it's a one storey house with two bedroom a kitchen and a bathroom." He answered.

Yes I did tell him that the house should not be eye catching it cant be big and luxurious either since it would raise suspicion and it might get Count Gray in trouble.  "Thank you." I said to him and smiled softly.

"You must be tired your highness, we still have a long journey ahead of us, why don't you try and get some sleep?" Count gray stated, I nodded in response.

Minutes pass and I was beginning to doze off

"--ness"

"--highness."

"Your highness." I slowly opened my eyes and immediately jolted up realizing our situation is. "Were here your highness."

I looked outside the carriage and there I saw from a distant a very small house, it was as simple as it could be.

I carefully woke my children up, "Aiden, Asher, Arlo were here." I said to them.

The first one to jump out of their sleep was Asher. "Here?! Where ?! Where?!" he ran to the carriage window to see our house.

"Count gray? Why are you here?" Aiden asked the Count still yawning from sleeping. Count Gray just chuckled and shuffled his hair.

"Did you have a good sleep young prince?" Count Gray asked Aiden and he nodded in response.

Arlo has just also woken up from his sleep and was quiet, this is his personality unlike his brothers who was always loud when they woke up he on the other hand doesn't like to be talk to when he just woke up from his nap.

Knowing this I just kissed him on his head. He turned around to me and blushes beat red.

"Don't you want to see our new house?" I told him, he nodded in response. He jumped out of his seat and just like his brothers went to the carriage window to look at the house.

"I know its not as big as a palace and its not a luxurious as our previous house but bare with it for the time being my piglets." I said to them.

These three cute pups are used to living in a palace where there's maids and cooks and helpers, they were born into riches but now in a blink of an eye it was taken away from them.

"I'll live where ever mother lives!" Aiden shouted

"Me too! Me too! It doesn't matter if the house is small as long as Mother and brothers re there!" Asher chimed in hugging me.

"Me too." Arlo said before hugging me aswell.

I couldn't help but shed a tear at my children's attitude. "you have raised the princes right your highness. Its sad that the Emperor doesn't see how lucky he was." Count Gray stated.

"Thank you count Gray." I said to him.

"Don't worry count Gray, we will come back and take back what's ours." Aiden stated which took me by surprised.

"That's right old man, we'll get stronger and take back everything that snake took from our Mother!"

Asher said.

"Until then, you better be healthy to see us take everything back." Arlo chimed in.

Count Gray was overwhelmed at the princes tenacious attitude. He smiled "I will your highness, until we meet again."

Until we meet again my ex husband...
