"Sasha!" called a little girl's voice as Sasha turned to look who it was.
The final bell of the day had rung and the students lined up as the school main doors opened. Several parents and guardians waited outside as teachers alongside their students led their lines towards the door.
The third graders stood alongside the fifth graders in the hallways. Sasha looked for the girl in the line and smiled as soon as she saw the girl with brown hair in pigtails waving at her.
"Hi Viola!" she called as the other students stared at both of them.
"Who's she?" whispered the girl from behind her.
"She's my friend."
"I thought you didn't have any friends here?"
"I met her when we went camping. Her mom is my mom's friend."
The girl just nodded and looked over to Viola.
"She's pretty," she complimented.
Sasha nodded in agreement.
