"How do I look?" asked Ashley to her new friends, Bridget and Sally as she emerged from the car. She was wearing a red plaid mini skirt matched with a red long-sleeved turtleneck. Her feet were covered with black knee-high boots and her neck was adorned with a 14 karat gold necklace. On her head she wore a black beret and ruby earrings on each of ears.
"OMG! You look amazing!" squealed Bridget.
"Is that new?" asked Sally, scanning Ashley from head to toe then she raised an eyebrow.
"Of course! When did I ever recycle outfits?" replied Ashley, raising her eyebrow, too. She didn't miss the look Sally gave her but she didn't care. "Unlike someone..."
Ashley side-glanced Sally and commented, "So last year." Then she laughed. Bridget, clueless of what's funny, just laughed along with her.
