Robbie stared at his wife as he woke up the next day. The sun peeked through a small opening from the drapes that covered the windows.
Last night, they were able to forget their troubles for a while as they held each other in the pool. It gave him a sense of hope that somehow after all these, they would be able to live in peace once again just like any normal couple should be.
He shoved a strand of hair away from Alex's face as she stirred a bit and huddled closer to him. She buried herself in his chest as he kissed the top of her head, holding her tightly. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying not to worry, and yet, his mind kept going back to what happened yesterday.
