"Morning sunshine. How was your night?"
"W-What? Where am I? What happened? Where are my...…these," Silver said, holding up the rose and a shriveled lily.
"Before I helped bind you up and stop the bleeding I asked myself how did they get here so fast? How'd they know where to look? So while the others bandaged you up I searched you and found these. When kings give gifts it is always for worthy people but when kings give personal gifts say a...'blade' for example it is for one of two reasons."
I tensed up when she stroked the petal and aimed the blade at me.
"One reason why a king would give such a gift would be for someone who did a noble/worthy deed seen and respected by others or he would give one to a lifelong friend they haven't seen in a while as a parting gift."
She stood up from her seat in the corner and walked towards me. I was too weak to move. I pulled with all my might and heard a rattle. I looked and it was chains. My hands and feet were chained to the floor limiting my movement. She came closer.
"Now roses signify death. (She sniffed the petals.) Their fragrance is so.....minty. When the king 'died' and the rescue team searched for his body all they found was his magic staff but not his most prized possession. The one that he never left behind. The one thing that he took everywhere. His roseblade! Whoever killed him stole his blade. That's a big no no!"
"You trader," I shouted. "You were there when he gave it to me. Why are you doing this?"
"Lilies.. there smell is so....sweet. Lilies mean life and by the perfume reeked on this flower I bet Sky gave it to you, you just didn't know it. The throne is rightfully mine not yours!!"
She knelt down and sweat trickled my body. I tried to resist ….she just smiled and stuck the blade in my side where I got shot. I whimpered but did not cry or else I might show I admit defeat. She twisted ever so slightly until blood flowed freely out and my body shook.
"I was first born not you. You weren't even there. You never were. Dad only saw me as a girl and nothing more. No matter what I did or how hard I trained he would always say that one day you would return. He held that hope his whole life."
"Silver, we're home," I could hear someone yelling from downstairs and then the door shut with a clang.
"Crap."
She slid the blade out, jumped on me, covered my mouth then made us both disappear.
