Chapter 8 - Chapter 8- One HELL Of A Discovery

"Wish? I don't have one of those, Hippie Hypnos. Sorry not sorry."

"You can't be telling me...that I was woken up...just for you to say you don't have a freaking wish?! Oh my gosh. I wish I could wish for you, my dear, to burn in a fiery pit in hell!"

"Please don't...I just...we just...didn't think it was going to work."

"Well it did. And until you come up with your wish I'm staying here...maybe as a sort of guardian."

******

I lean against the wall in a separate room, contemplating all my life decisions.

I'm quite an idiot. And I'm quite confused.

How the hell did I go from being an emo outcast to being an emo goddess? I think? I don't even know at this point...I thought Greek gods and goddesses were fake, dude! Fake! But no...one of them is literally my father! I'm dying inside.

"Hello."

I turn my head, and see Hypnos grinning at me.

"You're really just gonna be there until I make a fucking wish, right?"

"Yeah...I mean...I can't really go away until you do."

"Great. Guess I'm just going to have to deal with you until I figure out something."

"Well, Aiden, it can be anything. And since you like Alec, maybe you can wish for him to fall in love with you."

I snap my head around to look at him, my face contorted in disgust.

"Ugh...ew. Never. I don't like him."

"Exactly something you would say if you did indeed like him."

"If anything he likes me. Not the other way around."

"You sure about that, sweetheart?"

I jump, turning around again.

I meet with haunting green eyes.

"Alec?"

He morphs back into Hypnos who smirks.

"Your pupils dilated! Which in most cases means you like someone. But I'm not the god of love...we'll leave that for Aphrodite."

"Ugh...will you quit bothering me now?! Go bother Pandora or something. I'm sure she would love someone to talk to besides Xenodice."

"Alright, alright. See ya later! You better think of that wish!"

Hypnos disappears, and I continue to lean nonchalantly against the wall.

And while I do that it just all the more reminds me of Alec who always leans against the wall with his cigarette.

I lift myself from the wall, groaning.

I can't like him.

Screw the sappy romance shit...I'm done.

I sit on the floor, staring at it blankly until I hear someone clear their throat.

"You okay?"

I look up, and give a tight smile to Hades.

"Great, dad. Just as always. Nothing new."

He rolls his eyes.

"I can tell you're not fine. Come with me."

I stand up, following him out the door when I pause.

"You aren't kidnapping me...are you? Are you going to cast some sort of spell?!"

"No! Why do you always assume I'm out to get you or something?"

"I've seen the movies!"

"Movies?"

"Yeah! Hercules! Just in that you look a lot less..." I stare at him for a moment. "Hip."

Hades returns the odd look.

"I don't know what hip is...but I don't like it. I'd rather be described as malevolent."

"Oh, ew...no one says that anymore, grandpa."

He gives me the death stare before continuing on, and I jog to catch up to him.

"Hey...I thought you were supposed to be like ten feet tall. You're like five two."

"Five two?! If anything you're five two, sweetie. I'm seven foot. Three feet less. I'm a god, not a giant."

"Rude. I didn't get any of that height whatsoever. I actually am five five if you didn't notice."

He seems to try and hide a smile, bringing me through some sort of lagoon.

"Woah..."

My eyes expand at the cool glowing lagoon, and the pretty mermaids and fish that swim in it.

"Ooh...what's this place?"

I crouch down to the water, watching some of the mermaids swim along peacefully.

"The place your mother liked to go."

"My mom came down to the underworld?!"

"She is down here...because she died, you know. I used to go see her a lot."

I look up from the water.

"What happened to that?"

"I don't know actually."

Hades studies me.

"You look so much like her, Aiden."

"And you look so much like Hades, dad...?"

I stand up again, brushing off my knees.

"Is that meant to be a compliment? Was she pretty? I mean...I know I'm pretty."

"She was. She still is."

"You know where she is?"

Hades nods, and points down to the water.

I turn my head, slowly starting to notice that it isn't mermaids in there, but souls that look a lot like them.

Dead people that look a lot like them.

I crouch down again, as one of them comes closer to the surface.

A woman.

My mother.

"Mom?"

She smiles, and I frown.

"Why did you leave us? Leave me?"

No response.

"Did you not love me?"

No response once again, only a frown.

The corners of my lips dip down as well as she fades back into nothingness.

"You really just have a pool of dead people, don't you?"

"That's where they go."

I stand up, seeing Hades far away against the wall.

"Hmm...nice."

He squints.

"You're crying?"

I wipe tears from underneath my eyes, smiling.

"No, nope! Definitely not! I'm just cool! Yay?"

Hades rolls his eyes.

"It's about Bailey, no? Your mother? Trust me when I tell you she loves you a lot, I could see it in her eyes and the way she talked about you."

"So you mean—"

"That I knew about you the whole time? Yes. It's only now, when you're 18 and of the right age that I decided to reach out."

"Right age? Bitch, what?"

"For the battle. I believe if you get your powers trained you'd be extremely powerful."

"Okay...? Should I be concerned? About any of this? Especially the fact that you knew about me and never said anything?"

Hades shakes his head, staring at nothing in particular behind me.

"No...you don't have to be concerned. I have my certain reasons for everything."

"Okay...I'm gonna go now. I don't know where, but I am. It was nice hanging out with ya, bro. See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!"

I run away, and Hades shakes his head solemnly, moving his eyes back to the water where the woman sits.

"You were right, Bailey. She's just a mini version of you."

******

I walk around the small town like area, stopping in a field of dead flowers and dead grass behind a dead tree.

Yes, I said dead a lot in that sentence. But it's true...everything in this place is dead.

No vomit. No life. Dead.

I sit down in the dead grass which is actually incredibly soft, staring at the sky.

I don't even know how there is a sky in the underworld.

I lean against the tree, listening to the low whistles of the dead. As creepy as it sounds.

I soon hear soft footsteps padding towards me in the grass, and look up to see—Althea!?

I stand up, walking towards her as well.

"Althea...is that you?"

"Yes...it's me."

She comes closer, stopping in front of me.

Hold up.

Am I tripping?!

Her eyes just turned green and then went back blue.

What the fuck.

She looks down at me, because like all the other gods she was blessed with a bit of height.

"Where the heck did you go?! I haven't seen you in ages!"

I exclaim, and Althea only smiles.

"Have you ever kissed a girl?"

My eyes widen and my cheeks flush.

"Well...no? Is that—"

She backs me into the tree trunk, lifting my face with her hand.

"I didn't know you were the forward type...surely you must've practiced on Harley or some shit."

She grins.

"Funny, Aiden, but all jokes aside...your lips look very soft...and juicy."

"J-Juicy?"

I blink a few times, before frowning slightly.

"Are you possessed, Thea? You don't seem...correct. The Thea I know is not this forward...and I don't believe the Thea I know likes girls? But maybe I'm just misreading you."

"Maybe you are."

She pulls me in, her gentle lips pushing against mine in a soft caress that soon turns rough, pushing our bodies closer together while I'm pressed flush against the tree.

Her lips move down to my neck, sucking on it before nibbling it a little.

I let out a small gasp, as she pins my arms above my head and begins to trail kisses down my chest when—

"Althea..."

"Wrong."

I tense up, looking down.

"What in the fucking world?!"

He smirks, licking my right boob before fully standing up, my hands still pinned above my head.

My mouth is open in shock, and I blink a few times.

I look at the marks on my neck, then down at my chest.

"I know you did not just lick my boob."

He looks at me with a wicked smile.

"I can bite it if that's the shit your into."

"Now I know you were just Althea...where did she go?!"

"Shapeshifter, remember? I can be anyone I want."

His image flickers between him and Althea, and he smiles again.

"And guess what? I can possess people too."

I yank my hands free, rubbing my forehead before walking away from him, pacing back and forth.

He simply leans against the tree, a large grin on his face as his eyes track my every move.

"Oh my god...I know I did not just let you do that...oh my god what's wrong with me?!"

I halt, turning around to face him.

"Alec Walker licked my boob! My boob! Oh my god, Alec! What if someone finds out—"

"That I licked your boob and gave you a hickey. It's not like I—"

"Don't even say it. I'm disappointed in myself."

Alec tilts his head down towards the floor, stomping on some spider before looking back up at me.

"You shouldn't be...honestly I think it's a good thing. Not everyone gets to get a hickey from the one and only me."

I give Alec the death stare.

"You better not start that shit after you left me in the fucking labyrinth all by myself!"

He waves his hand in dismissal.

"You found Pandora. And my half brother Pierce. You were fine."

I rub my forehead tiredly.

"Half brother—? Why the hall are you all related?! And what the hell is going on!?"

I walk back over to him, stopping in front of him.

"What am I supposed to do now, Alec?"

"Kiss me?"

"No you horny bastard!"

"You asked me and I gave you an answer."

Without thinking I raise my knee to knee him in the balls, just for him to teleport out of the way.

"Don't do that. Then Hades won't be able to have grand babies."

"Ahh! You're a pervert!"

I start running in the opposite direction, not until I run into someone's brick Boulder of a chest.

"Ugh!"

I fly onto the floor, rubbing my head.

"Ow! Ow, ow, ow!"

I look up, and my mouth drops.

Oh my god. What the fuck.

Another hot dude.

Where are these men coming from?!

Dark black hair...ocean blue eyes...who is this Greek god?

"Sorry, lassie. Did I hurt you?"

"I...uhh...no?"

He helps me up and I smile awkwardly.

"Aiden."

"Dean."

Oh my life...he has an accent too.

I'm gonna faint.

Someone seems to come up behind me and his face drops.

"Oh no. Not you again."

"You talking about me?" The person hooks their arm around my waist and I tense up. "Or my little plaything, Dean?"

I look at Dean.

"Who the hell is behind me?!"

"Uhh...just Alec, lassie."

"No...it's a nightmare! I can't fucking get rid of him!"

I pry myself free, distancing myself.

I start to back away, and Dean looks at Alec.

"Is she okay...mate?"

"Probably not. Knock her out, will ya? It's the only way for her to go with us...then she can meet our new little fun group."

Dean shrugs.

"Okay." His eyes move to my fearful ones. "Sorry, lassie."

He throws an orb at me, and next thing you know I'm out cold on the ground.

*******

(ALTHEA'S POV)

I see black.

Only black.

What the hell?!

"Mal? Is she awake?"

I hear a light female voice, and then a raspier one in response.

"I'm not sure, Ryan. Let us see."

I hear the click of high heels, and then a blindfold gets pulled off my face.

I blink a few times, my eyes adjusting to the dim light.

I'm sweating.

Why is it so hot?!

My eyes catch on two girls, both very beautiful but very scary at the same time.

They are leaning over, crouching almost to reach my height, saying I'm currently chained to a bed with a piece of duct tape covering my mouth.

One has silver hair and auburn eyes, the other chestnut brown hair and auburn eyes.

Demons.

They both have horns.

The brunette has wings.

If there are demons...does that mean—

"I'm Mal, and this is my girlfriend Ryan." A sort of sick smile stretches across her face, and she peels off the duct tape, standing up. "Welcome to hell, Althea."

*******

(HARLEY'S POV)

My eyes snap open.

Where am I?!

I look around, everyone else is here too...just not Althea.

I look down.

Chains.

I'm restrained...but why?

My eyes catch on someone in the distance...two people in the distance.

Holy shit...is that—

"Hey, Harley. I see you're awake. As you know..." her eyes glide over to mine. "I'm Arachne. But that's not what matters...meet Lamia."

*******

(AIDEN'S POV)

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

I open my eyes, trying to lift my hands, only to see they're tied at my sides.

My whole torso is tied up.

Wait a minute...why the hell does everything look upside down?!

And red?!

I look at my feet which are tied from the ceiling.

That's probably why.

I hear a small giggle.

Then another.

"Why don't you look at her?"

"I know! So helpless."

"So unaware."

"So beautiful."

Voices echo around the room, and I frown.

What the!?

"Who's there?! Who are you?!"

"Anonymous."

"Yeah! We are anonymous! I'm Voice."

"Inferno."

"Silence."

"Phantom."

I look around, only seeing silhouettes in the distance.

"Are you actual people?!"

"Yes...we just have a spell."

"If we were even to come close to you you wouldn't be able to see us."

I hear more giggles and then a door opening.

"You four?! What're you doing?"

"We wanted to meet the new member of our group, Al. We'll leave now."

"I'll bring you all in soon, see you later."

They all leave in a fit of giggles, and my heart leaps out of my chest when a shadow passes by my face, and then I see another face.

"Hey."

"Don't hey me! I can't even see you right! My blood is rushing to my head..."

He laughs, standing up.

"I'll get ya down from there in one condition, Aido Potato."

I roll my eyes at his awful nickname.

"What is it?"

"Not that hard, sugarplum. All you have to do is ask nicely."

"Okay. Easy. Can you please let me go?"

Alec fake gags.

"Disgusting. Try again. I want to hear you say my name."

"Alec—"

"No. Daddy."

I sit there, dumbfounded.

"But—"

"That or you're staying down there, babe. All you have to do is ask, Aiden."

"Ugh! Fine, fine."

I release a breath, cringing already.

"Alright...can you please untie me, daddy? My circulation is getting cut off because you're just oh so strong!"

I make a face.

"Ugh. I can already feel the bile coming up my throat."

"Thank you for that...such a turn on."

He comes closer to me again, planting a kiss on my forehead before running a sharp blade down the middle of the ropes, watching as I slide from them with a thump on the floor.

"What was that for?! The kiss and just letting me fall like that?! Screw losing circulation I could've lost my head with that one!"

"Hmm...I wanted to. Now get up."

I stand up, walking closer to where he seemingly disappeared.

A table and two chairs.

I sit down in the one across from him, my eyebrows rising in confusion.

"What now?! It always seems like an interrogation with you."

I pause.

"Alec? Is that even—"

"No. It's not Alec, honey."

I squint as a light turns on, revealing a woman with long chestnut hair that falls in large curls.

Her eyes are red, and they glow.

"Who the hell are you?! What did you do with him?!"

"He's still here. We're all still here. Why don't you look to your right?"

I slowly move my head to the right, my heart almost jumping out of my chest.

"What is this?!"

"Just a simple group. We call ourselves the Assassins of Destruction."

She stands up, walking over to them.

"We'll all introduce ourselves. Me starting. I'm Mal, and if you didn't know I'm a demon of many talents, but the thing most people know me as is Lucifer's daughter."

A girl with silver hair smiles.

"I'm Ryan. Mal's girlfriend, Pierce's sister, Alec's cousin, and most of all, Erebus's daughter."

My eyes move to Pierce who grins.

"Pierce. I took the place of my father, Thanatos, in being the Grim Reaper."

My eyes move to the four silhouettes again.

"We're anonymous. Phantom, Voice, Inferno, and Silence."

Alec smirks.

"Sup, baby. You know me. Alec. Shapeshifter and ultimate ruler of the shadows."

My eyes move to Dean.

"I'm Dean. Also related to Alec. I don't really fit in...saying my powers are ice rather than something to do with the darkness. But my father is Chaos if that counts for anything."

My eyes widen a fraction when they move to the last person.

She smiles awkwardly.

"Hey, Aiden."

Why the hell is she here?!

"Althea?!"

"Yeah...enough of that for now."

Mal smiles at everyone.

"Welcome to hell, everybody."
