Chereads / Legacy: Gods Reborn / Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- The Deep End

Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- The Deep End

FEBRUARY 27TH 2001.

Hades looks down at the small child Hadley is holding.

A little girl.

But she's human.

Hades frowns.

"Isn't she beautiful? What do you say we call her? Riley? Willow? Caprice? Hazel?"

Hades snaps his eyes on hers.

"Hazel. She looks like a Hazel."

Hadley smiles down at the young girl...a beautiful baby with large violet eyes.

"Isn't it unusual that she has violet eyes? That's quite strange..."

Hades shrugs nonchalantly.

He knows it's because he's a god.

But what Hadley doesn't know won't kill her.

"It is pretty strange...isn't it? But she's very cute."

He looks down at the baby, her bright eyes shifting to his.

She reaches her small hand out, grabbing his tie.

"What the—"

Hazel starts laughing, tugging on his tie.

Hadley starts laughing too, before carefully prying the child's hand from his tie.

"Sorry about that...she's active for being so young."

Hades looks at Hazel one last time.

Her eyes glow for a split second, and he then moves his gaze back to Hadley.

"Yeah...active."

(HAZEL'S POV)

5 hours earlier...

I stare out my window, watching the rain pour down heavily.

"Hazel Lou Russo! Get downstairs right now!"

I jump slightly at my mother, Hadley's voice, getting snapped from my thoughts and into reality.

I tend to do that.

I run downstairs, approaching my mom who's pointing at a vape.

"What is that?!"

"Umm...a vape...?"

"Hazel sweetie, I told you to quit that! This is dangerous!"

My mom grabs it, throwing it on the floor before steeping on it, tossing it in the garbage.

I glare at her.

"Seriously?!"

"Get a hold of yourself! You're losing yourself again and I don't like it!"

"I'm not losing myself, mom! This is me and you're going to have to deal with it!"

My mom scoffs before going angrily back to her room.

"Until you learn to fix your attitude, I'll no longer support you!"

She slams the door, leaving me standing there.

I roll my eyes, digging in my pocket for a cigarette which I go outside to light.

And in the pouring rain I sit there, smoking in the darkness of the stormy sky.

I wonder what it'd be like to be in the clouds.

I stand up, dropping the cigarette butt on the floor before running over to the shed behind our house, the one with the door that swings back and forth and never closes, running inside and shutting it.

I pull the door extra hard, hoping that it'll stay shut.

I flick on the light, rubbing my eyes before moving them to the further area of the shed.

I sit down, taking my paints to continue painting my skateboard that I bought without my mom knowing.

She'd never let me. It's a bike or nothing.

While painting my skateboard I hear the soft purr of a cat, and snap my eyes forward to see a black cat, one with extremely bright green eyes.

I back away slightly, as it's just staring at me.

It comes closer, circling around my legs twice.

"What the—"

"Hey, sugar."

I pause, looking down at the cat.

I place my paints down, standing up.

"That wasn't you, was it, cat?"

"That was me."

I grimace.

"My mom's right. Vaping is really messing with my head. I'm dying, aren't I?"

"I vape. And smoke weed. Still here."

"Like hell a cat vapes! Why is your voice in my head?! Why are you talking to me?"

"Well, I—"

"Hazel?! Is that you in the shed?! Who're you talking to?!"

I grab cat guy, throwing him in a box before shoving the paints and the skateboard in a different corner.

"Yeah I'm in here! Just talking to Soledad on FaceTime!"

"Okay! Sorry about earlier, honey. I just want what's best for you. Come back inside soon, okay? It's getting late. Dinner's almost ready."

"Okay, mom."

I hear her leave then a hiss, and Mr. Cat Guy jumps from the box, landing on his four legs.

"There's rats in there!"

"You're a cat! You're supposed to like them!"

"I'm not actually a cat, dumb bitch! I'm a fucking human!"

"Like hell you are, kitty. I'm going to go eat dinner and you're going to stay here. Don't ruin my skateboard."

"Don't ruin my skateboard."

"Don't mock me you dumb animal!"

I move my foot to kick him when the damn cat teleports, growling.

I stare at it.

"You're insane. I'm leaving...and I'm going to lock you in here. Don't feed on me while I sleep."

I open the door, slamming it behind me.

Holy shit...what the fuck was that?!

As soon as I enter my home my eyes catch on someone with dark sable hair.

Who the hell—

My mom turns around, smiling.

"Hey, Hazel! Look who I met!"

The girl turns around, with just about the coolest eyes I've ever seen.

She smiles.

"Hi, Hazel. Your mom told me a lot about you."

"What the—"

"This is Althea. She and her friend just moved down here. I thought it'd be nice to invite them for supper!"

My eye twitches, and I make a bitter face.

"Oh no mom, oh no."

I sit down and Althea sits next to me, passing me something under the table.

I give her a look from the corner of my eye before opening it.

I'm sorry but we have to do it. You're one of them. Just don't look.

I give her a look from the corner of my eye as a knock is heard at the door.

I slowly stand up, nodding at my mom.

"I'll get it."

I walk over to the door, and when I pull it open my jaw drops a little.

Holy cheese balls.

Tan skin, dark black hair, tattoos, a lip piercing, and haunting green eyes. The same ones as that—wait a minute.

"Cat guy?"

He places his finger over his lips, grinning.

"Shh...Hazel, sweetheart."

He teleports past me, and when I try to move I realize I can't.

Hold up—that son of a gun froze me in place.

I hear a shrill scream and my eyes widen as I see a pool of blood.

Althea's eyes move onto mine and she mouths the same words.

I'm sorry, we had to do it.

Oh no...

"Mom!? Mom?!"

I call her name and when I hear no response my heart drops.

Cat guy teleports back, this time with blood splattered across his chest.

"What did you do?! My mom!"

I start crying when he places his finger against my mouth, unfreezing me.

"Come with me."

"You're going to murder me too! Why her?! Why did you kill my mom!?"

I continue to sob, my eyes catching on my mom laying frozen on the ground, black liquid seeping from the bottom of her eyes.

Like she was crying.

He gently takes my arm and I yank my hand back, glaring at him through blurry eyes.

"Why?! You're sick!"

"Listen to me, this wasn't—"

"Your fault?! It wasn't your fault?! You dumb cat! Why?!"

"Wasn't even what I was going to say. Now shut up and follow me before I do actually kill you, Miss Russo. I'm not playing games with you."

My eyes widen and I follow him in shock, up the stairs and to my room.

"I can do something for you, it'll make everything easier for you, much less agonizing. I'll make it painless."

I shake slightly in fear as he sits me down on my bed, his hands gliding softly up and down my arms in reassurance.

Almost in a way that makes me forget all of what he just did to me.

"You're not going to hurt me?!"

"No, of course not. And normally I wouldn't do this, but I'll let you know who I am. I'm a shapeshifter, ruler of the shadows. My father is Thanatos and my mother is Nyx, making me a god as well."

"What is—"

"My name's Alec." A small grin stretches across his face as I still sit there in pure shock. "Remember that for me, yeah?"

"O-Okay."

"Good. Now let me help you."

He stands up, leaning closer when I hold my hand out.

"What're you doing?! What's happening?!"

"You just happen to be extremely important, me and my friends believe there's something very important that you know."

"Which is? Is that the reason you decided to openly murder the only person I have left?!"

I start to choke up again when he leans down, taking me by my jaw.

"This will be simple. You're emotions will go away after. You'll forget all of what happened today, and in general. All you have to do is kiss me."

"What?"

"Kiss me."

I look into his mischievous eyes, then his lips.

"But—how does that—"

"I'm not just a shapeshifter and a god, babe. I'm a manipulator too. And if that helps, I can manipulate your emotions and body to respond the way I want it to. See, if I did a little something like this..."

He runs his hand down my arm slowly, watching as goosebumps spread across it.

"I can make you react according to plan. So here I plan on simply giving you a kiss that will make you forget."

He smirks.

"What do you say, Hazel?"

"Y-Yes?"

"Perfect."

He pulls me into him gently but firmly, pressing his soft lips against mine.

"Alec..."

"Say my name, Hazel. That's the only way for it to work."

"Alec..."

His name echoes in my head until I start to feel faint, slumping onto my bed, unconscious.

"Thea?"

Althea comes scrambling into the room, gasping.

"Y-You—"

"I didn't kill her."

Alec grins.

"I hypnotized her."

*******

(MAL'S POV)

Thirty minutes earlier...

As soon as everyone leaves the room I'm stuck with Dean and Ryan.

"So what you're saying is all I have to do is make a distraction?"

My gaze drifts to his.

"Exactly what I'm saying. Provoke the gods. Do something. We need them down here as well if we want everything to go to plan."

Dean nods.

"On it."

He leaves with a small wave to both me and Ryan, and she moves her eyes to mine.

"You're aware that someone is most likely going to die from what you're doing, right?"

"Of course I am, darling. I wouldn't be doing it if I wasn't so sure."

She sighs before speaking again.

"What exactly do I need to do?"

"Easy. Go to heaven disguised as an angel and give me every information you can get on Ryder Sargent and Carden Sky."

Ryan makes a face.

"Who are they?!"

"Carden is an old friend of ours, a witch to be exact, and Ryder is a vampire...somehow both of them ended up in heaven, only for them both to escape. In order for us to open the portal we need Hazel, Ryder, and Carden, because they're all part of The Trinity, or the Fates others call them."

Ryan's eyes widen.

"The fates?! They're important. I thought it was three goddesses though...?"

"Ryder is a girl, her name is unisex like your name it's unisex. Carden can be a male name as well."

Ryan nods.

"Makes sense...I'll find them."

"I believe in you."

I kiss her cheek, and Ryan disappears into thin air.

I sit there, staring at the wall blankly when I realize I totally missed my meeting with my dad.

Fuck.

He's not gonna be happy.

I stand up, teleporting to his office.

I knock on the door and here his cunning voice.

"Who is it? My daughter that is late again? Come in."

I open the door, and his eyes slide on mine.

"Aren't you a silly child. You're girlfriend happened to come here faster than you did. And we know that girl is slow."

He sits up from lounging in his chair, leaning over on his forearms.

"Enlighten me, child, what is your plan?"

"I plan for Aiden to revive her mother from the dead in order for us to get to Faith's Temple, and Alec and Althea went to earth to get a girl named Hazel Russo. She's Hades's fourth child."

"His children seem to pop out of nowhere."

My father grins.

"Hilarious to have to deal with more than one disgrace."

I give him the side eye.

"That better not be shade towards me...if so I'm offended. I like to think I'm not a disgrace to your devil nature."

"Of course you aren't. But all in all, we all know I'd rather have a boy."

"There you go again with the shade."

I rub my head tiredly.

"Ryan's going up to heaven to find out where the hell Ryder and Carden went...while Dean makes a distraction for the gods. We're trying to get them down here to make this more interesting. I believe Voice and her group of shadows disappeared to go get more people, Pandora, the Furies, and Xenodice as some of them."

"Hmm...and what're you doing?"

"Well of course I'm not doing nothing...I'm the one getting the weapons ready."

I produce a golden and red bow and arrow from thin air, smirking.

"It only has one arrow...an arrow strong enough to kill a god."

Lucifer grins.

"Which one are you planning on using it on?"

I give him the same grin.

"We demons don't kill and tell."

******

(ALTHEA'S POV)

Before they got on earth...

I get sent away with Alec, who looks way more relaxed then I am.

"How are you not mortified?!"

"I don't know how you are, sweets. Not even a big deal. Get the girl and go."

I give him a look from the corner of my eye.

"That's like kidnapping! I can't do that!"

Alec turns his head to look at me.

"Then I will. Simple as that. You just sit there and look pretty while I get bloody."

My eyes widen.

"Bloody?! We aren't killing anyone!"

Alec grins.

"You aren't killing anyone, sweetie. I am. Kill the mom, erase her memories, then we have a blank slate! Easy as pie."

I slap my forehead.

"You can't kill her mother! That'll break her!"

He rolls his eyes.

"Did you not hear the erasing memories part? She won't remember a thing."

I sigh.

"I can't with you. You're sick."

"Maybe I am, love. But you love it."

"Like hell I do! You're insane! And you don't know how to treat a woman with respect!"

Alec gives me a look.

"And?"

"Learn how to! It's not cute to be a bastard!"

"Ask every woman I've come across. They love me."

"They only "love" you cause you have big muscles and a cute face!"

I pause, and backtrack a bit.

"Pretend I didn't say anything. You're not cute?"

Alec grins.

"Thanks for the compliment, sweetheart."

I slump against the wall, and he shrugs.

"You ready to go down to earth?"

"Okay? I guess so. I'd say no but I don't think it's an option."

"Good. Hold on tight."

"What?"

He takes my hand and we teleport into mid air, flying towards the ground at full speed.

"What the hell?! I'm going to die!"

I scream the whole way down, scrunching my eyes shut when we get extremely close to the ground.

But I don't ever hit it.

When I open my eyes I'm standing on the floor, unharmed.

"Woah. Okay."

"My ears are bleeding. You were screaming in my ear."

I look up, and Alec's floating in the sky.

When I look around I realize we're in a public place, and people are staring at us strangely.

"Alec. You're sitting in the sky! There's people around us! Get down!"

I jump up and down, just for him to teasingly go higher and higher.

"Once you can catch me I'll get down."

People start taking pictures and I stare at him pleadingly.

"Come on! This is embarrassing!"

"Fine."

He drops down, staring at everyone.

"What the fuck are you looking at?! Dumb mortals."

They all scramble away and Alec grins.

"Easy. Now...time to get Hazel."

*******

(ALEC'S POV)

Five hours earlier...

Althea shies away in the corner.

"Go on. I'm scared."

I give her a look.

"I don't know what of. Just stay there...and try not to look so creepy. It's like you're staring into their window."

"Sorry!"

She snaps her attention away, staring at the road instead.

"You know what? Just keep being you, Althea."

I morph into a cat, vanishing into thin air.

I approach a shed where I feel her presence, walking through the door to the other side.

What the fuck is she doing?!

I stare at her vacantly, watching her paint a skateboard.

That's weird as fuck. Maybe I'll hiss at her.

She snaps her head around, letting out a yelp.

"Eek! Cat!"

"Hello, sugar."

She looks mortified.

"You just...talked to me?! In my head?!"

She looks like she's going to pass out.

"Of course I can...have you never met a cat that can't?"

"Well duh. Cats don't talk, dude."

She crouches down, picking me up.

She smiles.

"You're kinda cute though."

"Thanks? I'm cuter as a human."

I wink and she lets out a yelp, dropping me.

"Ow! What's with you women and dropping me on the floor?!"

"Cats don't wink!"

"Well I do...and I have something to tell you."

*******

(AIDEN'S POV)

Three hours earlier...

I get teleported easily back to the underworld, where I try and find the little lagoon again.

It should be over here...

I come across the same cave looking space, sneaking inside.

The whispers of the dead echo through my ears and I frown down at Echo Lake.

Would it be bad to free the dead spirits?

It's what Mal wants...but how can I trust that she's even trying to do something good?

I probably can't. She's trying to take over the world anyways.

But maybe this'll give me a chance to finally speak with my mom.

I look at the narrow bridge Mal and Ryan informed me would lead to the deep end, where the sad and restless spirits live.

The spirits of ones who took their own lives.

People say that if a human was to dive into the deep end, or the trenches some others call it, that you'd never be able to come out.

So basically this is death waiting to happen...but I'll stick with it.

"Mal...Ryan? What the hell do I do now?!"

"Just go in. Your mom shouldn't be that deep inside. Remember, you can't stay in there for more than twenty seconds or you and your body will wither away."

I nod at Mal's voice.

"Okay...I'm going in."

I cautiously slide in, feeling a large sense of dread.

I dive deeper, searching around for the face of my mother.

I cringe at the wailing and screaming of the dead, seeing a woman staring at nothing in particular.

Her eyes are glazed over, and the more I stare at her the more I start to notice that the woman's my mother.

I reach out, grabbing her delicate hand.

She moves her eyes to mine and smiles slightly.

"Ten seconds left, Aiden. Get to the surface, now."

Mal's voice resounds through my head, and I desperately try to drag my mother to the surface.

But the more and more I swim the more farther it seems to get.

I finally seem to reach it, my head spinning.

I'm dying.

I'm dying.

I can't seem to get my head over that.

I try to lift myself from the water, haphazardly placing my mom's spirit body on the deck when I feel two cold hands wrap around my ankles, dragging me back into the water.

I desperately reach for the top, but those movements get slower and slower as life drains from me.

"Aiden! Aiden, listen to me!"

Mal's voice fades away as I go silent, getting dragged into the depths of the deep end.

********

(ALEC'S POV)

PRESENT DAY.

I lean against the wall, and Althea paces around.

"Will you stop? You're starting to concern me pacing around like that."

"Ugh. Sorry! Just...is she okay? It's been five hours and she's still not awake."

"If she's breathing, she's fine."

"What if she isn't?!"

"Then check for all I care, Thea. I have to go talk to Mal...apparently she just got to the underworld in a panic according to Pandora."

"Okay. Have fun."

I stand up, exiting the room Althea continues to pace in.

As soon as I make it to where Mal wanted me to meet her, she looks at me wide eyed and starts rambling before I can even say something.

"Where's Aiden?! You must or seen her! Do you know where she is?"

"No. I haven't seen her...is everything okay, Mal?!"

She shakes her head rapidly.

"She went to Echo Lake to get her mom and was in there for over twenty seconds! She stopped responding and it's now been three hours."

"Woah, woah, woah. Slow down. Three hours in Echo Lake?! Are you kidding me, Mal?! She's probably dead!"

"I know! And I'm sorry!"

I glare at her from the corner of my eye before disappearing, reappearing in Echo Lake.

I see a shriveled up spirit on the ground, and immediately recognize her as Bailey, or Aiden's mom.

As soon as I approach the edge I see her headphones floating in the water.

She's in there.

"Alec, what are you doing?!"

I move my eyes over to Mal.

"I'm getting her."

I hop in the water, looking around for her.

I see bubbles come from a corner, and then a hand.

Someone's trying to escape.

I swim further, getting number the deeper I go.

I grab onto the hand, pulling out a weak and dying Aiden.

I drag her back to the surface, climbing back out.

Mal looks at me incredulously, then at Aiden with a frown.

"I'm so sorry..."

Aiden begins to cough out water, her drooping eyes springing back open.

She holds into her chest as she gasps for air, pushing her hair from her face.

"Oh my gif...that was...that was mortifying."

She moves her eyes up to Mal, then to mine.

"Thank you...something grabbed onto me and I couldn't pry their hands off."

She looks down at her mom, frowning.

"How do we bring her back?!"

"Let me do it."

Mal squats down, looking down at my shriveled up and blue mother.

She holds out her hand, placing it on Aiden's mother's chest.

Small red inklings sprout from her fingertips, and they drip into her withered black heart, making it blossom back to life, pumping.

The color goes back into her face and she jolts up, looking around.

"What the—"

She looks down at her hands, then at Aiden.

"A-Aiden?"

"Mom?"

She grabs onto her, squeezing her tightly before turning to look at me and Mal.

"Thank you, dear. Y-You saved me...and thank you," she smiles at me. "For saving my daughter."

"No problem, Bailey—"

"Guys!"

We all turn our heads to Pandora who's panting in the cave entryway.

"S-She's awake!"

"Who?"

We all say, and I soon realize who's she's talking about.

"Hazel's awake."

*******

(HAZEL'S POV)

Ten minutes earlier...

My eyes jolt open, and I jump to see to girls staring at me.

"Oh my god! She's awake!"

"She's awake!"

They both start jumping up and down and I frown.

"What the hell are you talking about?! Where the hell am I?! And who the hell are you?!"

"I'm Pandora. Pandora's box?"

"Oh no, girl. I wasn't aware nature myths were real now."

"I'm not a myth!"

The girl who looks like a combination of Wonder Woman and Athena looks at me.

"Althea. Athena's daughter."

"Hmm...yeah. I don't know what's going on...and where I am...but—"

"Your name is Hazel."

"I'm aware."

"And you're a goddess."

"What the fuck?"

"And your father is Hades."

"You two better stop it with the shenanigans. I'm leaving!"

I try to sit up, but Althea pushes me back down.

"No. You need to rest, because we need you very soon. Stay here with me...Pandora is going to get everyone else."

"Everyone else...?"

"Yes. Everyone else which includes your sister."

********

(RYAN'S POV)

I turn invisible, sliding past everyone to get to the gates of heaven.

I turn back visible, as a girl in a white dress with white wings.

Angel enough.

I try to walk through when someone stops me.

"Watch it, lady. Who are you?"

I open my mouth to say something but shut it.

"I'm Epinoia."

"Oh. Sorry, Miss. go on through."

I smile at him, sliding through the open gates.

How stupid is he?

Epinoia is literally in her chambers.

As I walk through heaven I realize I really made a good choice going against God in order to go to hell.

It's much better in hell. Especially with Mal.

The people up here are boring.

And of course I was originally an angel, one of God's most trusted angels...I figured you could tell because I'm never mean.

At all.

Oh. And Epinoia is God.

Anyone ever tell you God is a woman?

I knock on her door, and hear the small humming of a woman.

"Come in! Is it you, Dina?"

"No. Guess again."

I walk inside, shutting it behind me.

My disguise melts away and I smile at her.

"Hi, Epinoia."

Her eyes widen.

"What in the heavens?! Ryan?! What are you doing back here?! Haven't I disgraced you?"

"You have...but can I ask one favor of you? Just as the guardian angel you remember me being."

She frowns.

"Well it better not be much. What is it?"

"Do you have any information on Ryder Sargent and Carden Sky? I need everything I can get."

"Well of course. They were loyal angels until they disappeared."

She hands me some sort of file.

"Carden Sky was a witch, who through the bad thing she did got into heaven. Everyone called her a Fate, because as well as a witch she was a psychic, and everything she predicted was true. Including deaths. Soon someone killed her, and left a note next to her saying how it wasn't over. A few days later another woman was found dead. That woman was a vampire named Ryder Sargent. Ryder was infamous for her club near the bad side of town in New Jersey, where all vampires and evil beings went to party. One day someone bombed the place and kidnapped her, then killed her. They put the same note but this time it said: watch out for Hazel Russo, as she's the next and final Fate I have to kill."

I blink a few times.

"Holy shit. Do you know how to find them?!"

"I don't know...I'm sorry."

"It's okay. That was enough, Epinoia. Really."

I wave before disappearing again, appearing back at the gates of heaven, where I see someone's body.

A woman. Who seems to be passed out.

The guard is gone.

I bend down, and look at her face.

Black lipstick, red and black hair...Ryder.

I pick up the note, frowning.

I saw you come in, Ryan. Maybe this little bloodsucker will tell you all of her secrets...drop her off in the underworld, then come meet me at her club in New Jersey. I'll be waiting...

(AIDEN'S POV)

We all stand up, going back with Pandora to a room I see Althea sitting in, with a girl on a bed.

"Guys! You're here! Hazel?"

She turns back to her, and Hazel rolls her eyes.

"What?! I'm trying to sleep!"

"That's everyone else. Well...not everyone. But some of them. That's Bailey, that's Aiden, Alec, and Mal."

"Okay..."

Her eyes snap on Alec's, and she frowns.

"Cat guy?"

Alec smacks his forehead.

"I'm not a cat for God's sake!"

"Your eyes are just so familiar...do I know you?"

"Uhh...no?"

Alec gives her an odd look.

Hazel's eyes move to mine.

"Aiden..."

"Hi."

"So we're both related to Hades...huh?"

"Yeah..."

I pause.

"Wit a minute. Hades! I have to convince him to give me his powers!"

I run off before anyone else can say anything, and Hazel frowns.

"She's weird."

*******

I approach Hades's room, running into someone.

We both fall, and I hear a little yelp.

"Oh! Are you okay?"

Persephone's eyes meet mine and she stands up, lifting me up as well with a small smile.

"I'm sorry!"

I run past her, and she frowns slightly.

"That's weird."

She shrugs, continuing down the hallway.

I scramble into the main room, seeing Hypnos there as well, seemingly bothering him.

"Hypnos! I have to talk to him for a second!"

"Do your thing...I don't even think he's listening to me anymore."

"What?"

"See?"

Hypnos laughs before disappearing.

I run over, stopping in front of him.

"What happened to you? You look terrible."

"Thanks."

I look at him.

"I really need something from you."

"What is it?"

"You're powers."

"What?! Why?"

"I just want to be the daughter you've always wanted..."

Hades frowns.

"You are a daughter I could've ever wanted, why would you need my powers to change that?"

"Just trust me! I want to take over the world, and give it to you for your power! And I can't do that without them!"

He looks at me strangely.

"I'm not sure how much I trust that...but okay."

I release a breath.

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

I go closer, and he takes my hands.

I try not to get freaked out as I see somewhat electrical blue and black sparks going from his veins to mine, feeling some sort of charge go through my body.

At one point his grip starts to get weaker on mine, and I watch in horror as he passes out.

"Oh no. Hades?! Dad?!"

I drop down, shaking him slightly.

"What happened to you?! What's going on?! Wake up!"

I hear a voice in my head and start to freak out.

"Aiden?! Where are you?!"

"In the main room, Alec! Why?! I just did something bad...I don't know what to do!"

"It's okay. Dean just told us that he got the gods aggravated enough. They're here in the underworld. They're going to go in there and if they see you they will kill you! A huge storm is being thrown down on earth at the moment and it's the perfect time for us to get there to Faith's Temple. Your mom told us where it is and she's willing to help."

"Alec...you don't understand! H-Hades gave me his powers...and then...and then he passed out. He's not moving and he's not waking up. What if it killed him?!"

"He's fin. He's okay. Or he will be at least."

I hear loud footsteps, and stand up on wobbly legs.

"Quick! Teleport! Do what I taught you!"

"But—"

"Do it!"

I shut my eyes, firming the energy within me ti teleport back to Alec and the others, who are all in some sort of circle.

"We're going to earth. Get in the circle!"

I slide between Althea and Alec, grabbing their hands just as the door bursts down, and we disappear into thin air.

*******

(ATHENA'S POV)

"There's no one in here!"

"But the kid—"

I snap my head around to Artemis.

"Yes! I know the kid said they were here!"

"Hades."

We both turn to Zeus.

"What?!"

"Hades must know where the hell they are!"

We all turn around, and when we open the main room door a gasp escapes my lips.

"What the?!"

I run over, pressing my hand against his cheek.

It glows, and his eyes holt open.

"What the hell?! Athena? Zeus? Poseidon?"

We all look at him.

"Where are they?!"

"Who? I don't know what the hell happened."

"Tell us!"

"I was giving my powers to Aiden when I passed out."

Aphrodite smacks her head.

"You gave your powers to the child?! Where are they?!"

"Earth! They're on earth. They're planning to take it over."

We all stand up, and I narrow my eyes.

"They asked for a war? They're going to get it."
