After waking up in a cell Logan became mad. He looked up and down the rows asking about Tasha and the baby but no one knew. After a minute he tested to see if his powers worked. When he was able to free himself he went and released the monks and other people he found in the cells. Once everyone was free he started asking questions.
"Who can tell me where we are? Why are we here? How do we get free?"
A young lady steps forward and says," We are on a boat in the middle of the ocean. obviously they had no idea you were gifted or they would have put these cuffs on you. We are being collected and taken to Germany to be sold into slavery. Although I don't know why they kept the monks. None of them are gifted right? Can you get the key over there and release us please?"
Logan looks over to where she points and then goes and grabs the keys. After ten minutes he has all the people free then they start making plans.
"Okay so who has destructive powers. But we don't want to destroy the ship we just need to get rid of the guys controlling it."
After several people raise their hands he has them step near him.
"Next we need healers and protection for the monks.,"
After four people raise their hands he has them stand near the monks. Then he looks at the rest and says," What can you four do?"
"I can transport myself around the ship."
"I can grow things."
"I can hear thoughts."
"I can duplicate anything I touch."
After thinking about it a minute Logan keeps the telepath and the duplicator with the monks then he takes the transporter and the plant grower with him.
They come up with a quick plan of killing all their captors and taking the monks home. Then Logan tells them he will get them home as well.
After an hour of cloak and dagger fighting Logan's group wins. Then they head out. He dropped the monks off at the large monastery the they sail back toward America.
It takes them almost a week to get back to America then another three days to get home.
As he stands in front of the gates to the only home he has ever know he starts to cry over what he has lost in France.
As he tries to get himself under control Patricia comes to the gate. He opens the door and pulls him into a hug. They stand that way until he calms down, Then they head inside. Once they get to his room she sits down on the bed next to him.
"Little brother won't you tell me what's wrong?"
After a minute he says," You know I never wanted to be gifted. I went away to get away from it. Then I met and fell in love with a women in France only to see her killed because she was gifted. I saw them kill her as she protected me from their attack. But at some point I was knocked out and woke up on a slave ship headed to Germany. Because they didn't know about my gifts I wasn't restrained so after I woke up two weeks ago I set the other gifted people on the boat free and we took over the ship. Then we made our way home. Now I am here and she is dead. I'm sorry I didn't mean to drop it all on you like that. But after a good rest I'm sure I will feel better and I need to do something productive to help me forget. So what have we got?"
"Oh Logan I am so sorry. How about you rest now. We will talk more in the morning."
After she helped him with his shoes and coat she gently pushed him back on the bed. Then she leaned down and kissed his cheek and covered him up. After that she turned off the light and closed the door.
She stood there for a minute feeling bad for everything Logan went through. Then she went to her office.
In the office she sat down at her computer and opened the app that would show her where Natasha was at. For the last two weeks she had been watching the dot move very slowly toward her. Right now the dot was in Canada. Patricia figured it would take at least another two or possibly three weeks for her to get here depending on where She crosses the border at. She knew all she could do was watch and wait but not being able to help was killing her. Now add Logan's sadness into the equation and she was tired.
